Veteran status since '05. Today when I meet Marines transitioning from the Fleet, I do my best to assist them. Do NOT be afraid or embarrassed to ask for or accept assistance. You did it as a new Marine, and you need to be willing to do it now as a new Veteran if you're going to succeed.

An outstanding message from Gen. Neller to the Corps and everyone that earned the title Marine! We Marines have a standard to keep of impeccable honor, character, and integrity. Anyone who wants to live up to the challenge, it is clear what is expected of you. We are the few, the proud, the Marines.

@@danelobe2524 to be fair being expeditionary the marines could get a much larger sized force to bare quicker than the army. Though sacrificing firepower and not 12 hours but its faster than the army can mobilize and can buy time for the army to do so

When im feelin like shit, I just think of how much so many in the services would have accomplished by mid morning an thats the fire, inspiration, drive I need. I can say with all honesty that that beyond my parents and my God, no one person, entity or organization has impacted by who I am thank the Marine Corps. I served for 11 active/reserve years and have been out of the Marine Corps for over 20 years but so much of my leadership and overall thinking continues to be influenced by what I learned in the Marine Corps. It's principals of God, Country and family are as sound today as they were 243 years ago. Semper Fedilis to my last day on this earth, Oorah!

Is there any way possible at all to get an age waiver approve at the age of 37 to join the Marine Reserves without prior service? Or is there anyone in the Marines an officer or someone with rank that I could submit a petition to ,for this to be consider? If someone could point me to the right office or person whom might be willing to help me with this, I would truly appreciate it.

It doesn't. But it can help to prevent you from getting sick. It can also help to improve your attention to detail which could save your life or your brothers life if you ever get sent down range and you spot an I.E.D. on the side of the road. And because you spotted that IED, it prevented you and the guy next to you from going home with no legs, or worse; in a body bag.
