Good video. I have a 2019 power wagon and I love it. Payload May become an issue at some point when the kids are older but I’ll be ready for a trade in at that point. I think you connected the the trailer incorrectly with that hitch. In my experience you need to crank those bars in before the truck has fully squatted. That’s where you get your down pressure on the front wheels. It also reduces the squat.

Great video fellas. I have been looking at PowerWagons because they are so cool but have been a little worried because we want to pick up a travel trailer in the next year or so. That trailer seemed like a piece of cake for his truck.

Good combination I also have a Mallard M32 2019 my tow vehicle is a 2013 2500 Mega cab with the Cummins engine tow with no problem Overkill in my opinion but I love my travel trailer fits our family.

Looks like the power wagon needs to raise the hitch ball a few notches.

Air Bags with Daystar Cradles will solve any squat and allow you to tow where you want the truck to sit and also not mess with the functionality of the Power Wagons articulation....You'll get the best of both worlds and 2k lbs more load capability...Not too expensive either....Nice Looking set up Mikey! I just ordered 3 weeks ago a 2022 Power Wagon...I cannot wait to build up another truck....

You should consider a Hensley hitch when bumper towing something that large. Same size as my RV and with the Hensley hitch I've driven 70 through Texas windmill area in 20mph cross winds. Never moved an inch. Those anti sway are only slightly better then flat bumper pulling I found.

That was a great explanation of weight distribution hitch. As you said, most people don't know what they do or how they work. I don't understand how salesman can sell them, and not know what they are talking about

FYI, put the bars in before the full weight of the trailer is on the hitch.

Technically speaking weight distribution hitches send weight to the front axle of the tow vehicle AND the trailer axles. They bridge the tongue weight fore and aft. If you use scales you’ll see the weight changes proving that.

I would love to see a review of the recurve sway control hitch. I have looked at them several times for one of my low ground clerance trailers

Sweet truck! That truck doesn’t squat that bad from what I see I’m pretty impressed. Compared to my midsize frontier witch squats with my trailer hooked up.

I always capture my power cord with the d ring on the safety pin in the hitch. I figure it prevents it from hitting the ground or getting pinched anywhere.

Due to the soft rear leaf springs the power wagon has a very low rated payload. Will not work for me with a 1000 pound atv in the bed.

the trailer gvwr means that's the capacity of all weight including the weight of the trailer... 4400 lbs per axle. I think you're understanding of that was a little off. sweet truck, though.

Did you ever do the tow test with the dmax?

That trailer is only around 5600lbs, not 8600. That's the GVWR. The total weight capacity ov both truck, trailer, and all cargo.

What’s the payload of your power wagon? BTBRV reviewed one recently and the truck he had only had 1,089 lbs for payload which isn’t much. With that Mallard, his truck would have well over its payload capacity with people and some gear.
