Just saw the video. I'm glad this is the machine I bought. BTW, what changed is the machine on the right was turned on at the start of the video and at the end it's the machine on left that was turned on.

Change on set - there's a spring on the counter that is no longer there at the end. Besides that, at the beginning the machine on the right is on and and the end the machine on the right is on. But 'planted' would be the spring.

These improvements might not seem much, but are sooooo cool)) I've owned the previous version (I guess)) for almost a year now. The no-water-shutoff-during-the-shot rule and the fact that it holds the time for a while afterwards would be soooo nice to have)) Not critical, of course, but niiiicceeee)))) Didn't quite get the piece about blooming, what does it change? All in all I agree, considering owner knows his stuff about coffee - espressos and cappuccinos are terribly-terribly delicious ))

Hi Jim, I like the videos you make and Im thinking of buying a Lelit Elisabeth. One video you made shows the inside. I reacted on that there are only plastic tubings. I would have expected copper tubing on high pressure areas. Whats your view on the plastic tubing for longevity? Thanks!

Hey There Java Jim - I’m actually in the last stage of buying a machine - i got last Day of black week so i have to make my choice today - i can het this machine for good money i europe but i got lelit mara X for about 150$ less. Generally i make 1, Max. 2 Milk based coffee in the morning, in the afternoon maybe 3,4 espressi . Maybe 1,2 weekend in the Month gonna get visit from friends so i can maybe do few coffee’s in a row - i dont care about looks ( i think mara looks better) or e61 so much, what im more interested is which supose to last longer? Be more Solid? Hx or dual boiler ? The same question about maintenance ? What its your opinion about it because i think already couple days and i can get out this dillema.

What is purpose of turning off the steam boiler why is it called econo mode? If you suggest not adjusting the kpc, kic blah, blah why are they accessible? What is blooming? With steam boiler off can pre-infusion come from the brew boiler?
@AzizIzgin
@AzizIzgin 3 жыл бұрын
You turn it off to save energy if you only drink espressos. Regarding pre infusion you should check out Dave Corbys review on that , he goes through what they mean, I don’t think you can use pre infusion without the steam boiler since it uses the pressure of the steam to soak the coffee. Blooming is another method of pre infusion. The Kpc settings I think he also have covered in his review or another guy in Singapore... just search Elizabeth vs Mara x and you will see it on top I think.
@ggivensjr
@ggivensjr 3 жыл бұрын
@@AzizIzgin I know what pre-infusion is and blooming sounds like just another way of saying pre-infusion. Like in pour-over and French press. I wish Lelit would give better explanation of effects of turning off steam boiler. For example when you turn it off does it automatically drain or does water just set in boiler or do you have to run steamer to empty it? I wish videos would show how reservoir is removed. That can be a negative because I don't want to be dragging a machine across our counters every time I have to add water. That's probably why it's not mentioned. And yes you can still do pre-infusion with steam boiler off. It just comes from brew boiler instead.
@AzizIzgin
@AzizIzgin 3 жыл бұрын
@@ggivensjr very good points. Although when turning off the steam boiler I would guess that water is left in boiler since the machine uses water from both boilers for the water spout and in one of the reviews of corby he showed that it could be done when steam boiler was off. Personally I am still confused of which to pick. I am stuck with if I can live with startup time of Mara and the deeper size🙄😅. On the other hand I am trying also to like the design more of Elizabeth so I’d want to buy it🤣.
@AzizIzgin
@AzizIzgin 3 жыл бұрын
@@ggivensjr one more thing that I don’t understand is the power consumption between them. In total Elizabeth is using 2300w and Mara 1300w. I am no electric guy but what does this mean in real life? Say that Mara needs a longer warmup time and Elizabeth when already warm how much power does it use when not “in action “?
@ggivensjr
@ggivensjr 3 жыл бұрын
@@AzizIzgin I am same as you. I like traditional look of the E61 grouphead and the no frills traditional beauty of the MaraX but the sizes turn me away from both. For that reason I am back to either Victoria or Elizabeth. The issue between the latter two is deciding on if I really need to spend extra $600 on a dual boiler. I have done without double boiler for 8 years now and haven't felt the need to have steaming and brewing simultaneously. Not to put you on the spot but I like your thinking. So what do you think, Victoria or Elizabeth? 🤔

@1st-lineequipment
@1st-lineequipment 3 жыл бұрын
Ahh, so many good choices! A lot of factors go into a decision, such as types of drinks you are looking to make (like mostly espresso or mostly milk-based, for instance) volume of these drinks (how many at a time), and whether you want more automatic features or more manual features! For $1300 or less, you would be able to get a variety of single boiler machines or super-automatic espresso machines.

Hey java Jim now I am just a random KZfaqr so my comments may be just worth a few cents. Have you considered doing some review comparisons between the lelit machines against the competition of machines including the ones you don't carry. So comparing the Glenda with the rancilio Silvia and gaggia (which I know you don't carry though you could easily acquire for a day). To help highlight how great the machines are. Now I mention this since I know you work with the espresso community and have provided machines in the past to do community reviews such as during the lever reviews on home barista. Personally I think it would be a great way to raise lelits profile with new espresso drinkers. Since lelit is still rather unknown compared to rancilio or gaggia. Now I do want to say I love your company and your videos and if you think this comment is determental to feel free to delete it.

@@tybaltmercutio Basically, my comment was about the pressing twice for alternate display not really working, Looked broken to me. Frankly, because they chose such cheap controls (a tiny display), its an absolute pain to change settings and in no way is designed well. Plenty of machines in this price range that are far easy and more intuitive to use. Feel free to disagree, but my comment is really: "Not impressed."
