Great video thanks, my Christmas present yesterday from my Wife with my son help picking out a perfect snowblower the Toro power max 1030 model, and I can hardly wait now to get a snow storm to use my new machine, for several years I’ve been nursing along my old 8 hp snow king Bowen’s snow blower from 1993. Lol. Thanks again from Syracuse ny👍

I am looking forward to this winter season to try out my new Power Max HD 1232. I did lots of research before deciding on a Toro Power Max HD snow blower. Overall, the Toro HD models get great reviews. The joystick shoot control is a big winner for Toro. Many choose Toro for that reason alone. For those who want a slower first gear when needed, it is a simple one to two turns on the adjustment rod to accomplish this. I already did that to mine and now first gear is much slower. That adjustment also slows the other forward gears as well, but you still have plenty of speed if you need it. Reverse seems a bit faster after the adjustment and I think that is a plus. The HD models are really built strong. Just like any piece of power equipment, regular maintenance and doing whatever is needed to keep old fuel from messing up the carburetor during the off season. I have switched to non-ethanol 91 octane for all my outdoor equipment. If that is not an option, then draining the fuel out of the float bowl is a good idea. Another way I have delt with E10 fuel in the past, is to use Sea Foam a bit stronger in the fuel than directed on the can, and when in storage always run the machine long enough to make sure the Sea Foam is all the way through the fuel system and the fuel tank is completely full. You get less moisture in the fuel that way. Even though I now use ethanol free fuel, I still use Sea Foam. The stuff has been around for years, and many swear by the stuff. For an example, I have a 2007 garden tractor that I used E10 with Sea Foam sense I had it new. This summer, just to see what condition the float bowl was in I took the carb off and checked the float bowl. The bowl and float looked like new. The garden tractor sits in storage every winter for around six months. That goes for my push mowers as well. Sea Foam will work just as well for a snow blower during storage. I do recommend starting the snow blower a few times during the summer just to remove any moisture that might build up in the float bowl. Snow blowers tend to sit a lot longer than lawn mowers. It is never fun to remove the carburetor for cleaning. Especially when you wake up to several inches of snow and the snow blower refuse to start because of a clogged carburetor. Great video! It is that time of the year, winter will be upon us before you know it. Happy snow blowing everyone.

I own the Toro 1432 blower. It is a horse of a machine. Only real issue I had was in the 2nd season. The drive control cable broke where the spring threads to the cable. Part of that was the nut came loose and it stripped out. Other than that, it has been trouble free. Only condition that it hasn't been able to handle is snow that has been saturated with rain, then frozen solid. At that point only a bulldozer could handle it. If the snow is still wet, it will move it, and launches as far as you can want.

Just received mine, a power max 1232. I live two hrs from the nearest town that sells them, so all my research was done on line and by KZfaq. Replacing a 15 year old snapper snow blower. Looking at it on the pallet I could see issues right away, in regards to the cables, if I had known they were that cheap, i would had looked elsewhere. Buyer beware, parts are not cheap. For instance, a new auger belt will put you out $62 us. The old snapper belt cost $10 us.. I’m scared to look up the price for a replacement cable. I worked as a trades person until I retired so most repairs I can do myself, so I can save there, but really, why scrimp on an item that is exposed to weather and mechanical stresses? Cross my fingers.

1:20 - great explanation of why shear pins are not necessary. We love our now Power Max 828. Got to use it this week in 1 foot of snow. We'd really appreciate if you'd give our channel a look if you're not already following us. Thanks in advance!

Ya but if you do end up getting something in the propeller like a frozen phone book that was delivered and snowed over, or a dead frozen animal, you burn out the belts.. At least that is what the guy told me when he dropped off this 828. I am also returning it at a 20% restocking fee 4 days after delivery because I absolutely hate it. It has some issues straight out of the box and just seems rushed slapped together from the factory. No doubt its built like a tank and throws snow super far which is good for big yards/driveways. But the machine turns like shit, is heavy and hard on someone with bad back/health. The engine sounded like it was struggling in 3 inches of snow. Gas shut off didn't work so you end up fouling the plug. The auto auger handle never would stick down. Again, this is brand new and delivered 4 days ago.. I think the machine is garbage and over hyped considering Im 43 and have used snow blowers since I was 13.. This machine wasn't the worst but out of 5 or 6 different machines I have owned or used, this one is 2nd worse behind a cheap 2017 brigs and stratton that just sucked nuts. One of the most annoying features on this 828 is the joystick chute control sticks in cold weather lol.. I even asked the sales guy about that and he raved up and down how awesome the machine was and how he owned the same machine.. Lesson learned.. When a salesperson tells you they own it, run!

You forgot on the 10 horsepower HD ones It has a extra extension for the shoot so you can throw snow right next to it that the other ones don't have. It has two bending points.. Also the front of them have a slight tilted back housing.. This is so in deep snow The snow can fall into the auger from the top.

What a great idea not having shear bolts and having auto stop. I have carpets and rugs laying all over my driveway 👍

I thought it was a great idea too.. until it didn't stop and ripped my auger apart. Luckily my dealer fixed it under warranty repair and installed actual shear bolts. Other than that, a good machine.

Hello, I currently own an older Honda 1332 Track machine. I’m now 75 and don’t have the same strength I used to have when I was a silly able to operate it. Now I’m looking to purchase two Toro machines next winter season of 2022.I will buy a Snowmaster of the 824 version. This will become my primary machine to clear most all storms. However to replace my Honda, and to handle to occasional BIG storm I will want to purchase a Power Max 1432 or Power Track 1432. I really like the Hydrostatic drive of the Track unit but have heard many horror stories with the track drive system itself. I’m hoping Toto has made, or will be making changes to eliminate the problems for the 2022 year models but don’t know. Additionally I like the ability to easily move the bucket up or down to one of three positions with the track unit. Here’s where I need some help: in your opinion do you feel, because of being better balanced, that I will be able to handle the Toro machines being as big as my eyes want? Have you any thoughts about what may be happening to correct track issues? I live in Colorado and would like any thoughts you may have to share. I do not want another Honda even being as well built as they are. It has come down to the Toros I’ve mentioned vs. some Ariens snow machines.believe it or not, toro’s shear pin talk is what has driven me towards my decision for purchasing their equipment. Thanks for taking time to respond to my post.

I recently bought the Toro 826 OXE snow blower. It blows the snow fine. My only complaint is that if you strike a patch of hard packed snow or ice and the the machine lifts the blower thinks you want to turn. When this happens you have to fight with it to get it going straight again. Maybe fight is to strong a word but you are always making corrections to the direction. The machine goes through the plowed end of the driveway fine. I was concerned about that considering the small diameter of the auger. Once I get used to the steering issue I am sure it will be less noticeable. All in all a decent snow blower.

Ya its fucked. Especially if you have a bad back or poor health. I do not recommend this machine. If I was 20 it would be fine I am sure.. I used this machine twice and after the 2nd time I called to have it returned at 20% restock that is how much I hate it I am willing to lose 440 bucks and go buy something else. We got a shit ton of snow this year in northern ontario and I can't see myself power maxing my way through next winter with this machine that kind of feels like a tank but the engine feels super weak aswell like it wanted to die out in 5 inches of light snow. Probably a setup issue but too many problems out of the box with it. The gas shut off didn't even work. Auto auger wouldn't stay down. Constantly fighting with the machine blowing out my shoulders and back. Im a big guy at 260 but failing health from a back injury so this machine is not for me. I am actually shocked at all the top end reviews it gets. My 2011 craftsmen 27 inch 308cc blew this toro out of the water as far as I am concerned. Lost it in divorce unfortunately.. Bitch actually gave it away to spite me haha..along with my riding mower..

@@tjl8884 I just used mine for the 2nd time today and the machine has a mind of it own. I can't do it. Tomorrow I am going to see if I can exchange for something heavier. It weighs 180 lbs the Toro 828 weighs 310. I was worn out fighting with it after 10 minutes

The store I returned mine too was not happy. I said you guys essentially rented me a snowblower for four days at 500 bucks. That's what the restock came too.. Thieves if you ask me. I bought a Ariens platinum rapid track. The machine is expensive but perfectly balanced and you don't fight with it. It is much bigger but I don't know, it just feels way easier to use. I think it has something to do with its balance and those rapid tracks..
