The MT-07 is the budget king. They cut out the un-necessary stuff like electronics, top spec suspension and a decent paint job but as a result you get a great engine in a light, easy to work on bike for less than the cost of a new 125 second hand. The best part of the bike is the sound once you put an aftermarket exhaust on it though. I recently upgraded from an MT-07 to a Super Duke R and the Super Duke is not nearly worth triple the price. Not to mention my MT-07 has 21,000 miles on it and hasn't had a single fault whereas my Super Duke has left me stranded twice in 2000 miles, once because of a loose battery terminal and another time because the wireless key wouldn't register. My Super Duke also has numerous mechanical faults, firstly the loose battery terminals, then the wheel hub isn't machined properly, there's a recall for the brake material failing and a radiator leak and electrical faults are common.

"beginner bike" is a really weird phrase. It differs from country to country. Where I am, everyone recommends 125 or 250cc's to beginners.

Idk why people say these are beginner bikes or starter bikes, they're fast as hell. I regularly outpace and leave in the dust my buddies that ride 1700cc Harleys. They're more than enough power and speed to get yourself into trouble. For a long time a 700 was considered a pretty powerful bike. 1000cc super bikes on the street are a modernity. This bike is more than enough to ride and enjoy for a long time.

Oh, on a side note, if your wife goes for the mt07, just a thing I have noticed as a short rider, the side stand is really short, you may not have noticed but when you put it down to get off the bike it can feel like it's leaning waaaay over.

Nice video... Let just say that in some areas the price of the latest version is few hundred more than the older version.. is it worth it to spend the extra dollar?

The phrase "master of none" I think really fits it. The sweet spot of this bike is normal people using it normally.

I got my 2017 Fz07 a couple months ago lightly used (only 2400 miles) and it had aftermarket exhaust and blinkers already done for me and I absolutely love this bike. It's perfect for what I need or want. Super reliable, and fun fast acceleration.

Absolutely love my 2018 mt07, I'm a small guy, only 5'3" and it's just right, have put a few mods on, exhaust etc, only downside is still the swing arm corrosion, also the cooling pipes, have had mine powder coated, sorted.
