My 2016 Kia Sorento seized on 8/16/19... stopped in the middle of the highway. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Did some investigating and it was out of oil. Just had it changed on 6/7/19. Dealership is refusing to honor the lifetime warranty. Again, no lights, no warning, no nothing. 5.5 quarts of oil went somewhere in two months. Or at least that's what was SUPPOSED to be in there. There are several class action lawsuits pending as well regarding this issue & similar things. Don't be fooled.

How is your 4 week impression? Wife and I are going to test drive one tomorrow. I test drove it this past week and was blown away at initial quality.

Awesome - glad you love it so much! Kia/Hyundai's driver assistance tech is some of the best in the biz right now and they've paid some great attention to passenger amenities/comfort in the second and third rows, which is really nice. The hill descent button is good to have, but it was strange to have the paddle shifters that only sort of listened to our commands.

@@OutMotorsports agreed. It would have been nice to have a true tiptronic style shifter on the steering wheel well paddle shifter you know what I mean that kind of response lol Cheers dude

Well, stay tuned for our thoughts on the new Outback. We have a 2022 Outback Wilderness coming in a week or so. We have spent time in prior Outbacks and they are a unique vehicle in that they ride and drive very much like a car (moreso than other crossovers), have quite a bit of interior space even though they're not that big, and are generally decent for mild off-road use. Kia wins if you want/need the third row, even occasionally, or prefer the second-row captains' chairs over a bench. The Sorento's second row feels a bit more premium than that of the Outback. And of course, the Kia's hybrid system will return higher MPG. If you're not going off-road, the Outback having AWD is a bit of a moot point. Both are very solid offerings, just depends if you value MPG or a bit more ruggedness/potential capability.

@@OutMotorsports thank u. Don't really need 3rd row. Just like the feel of a bigger car and so much space in sorento also the mpg and how conformable and rokmie its inside and loves how it rides also lime their long warranty.

We're hoping they will do a loaded/well-equipped Sorento PHEV.

Yeah, we've heard from several folks who want this and other crossovers with lots of options, but no captains' chairs. Mazda CX-9 is another one (not hybrid, though) that presents a similar conundrum.

@@OutMotorsports yeah but CX9 does come with a bench variety in some trims. Sorento hybrid, doesn't. There is still this idiotic, old school mentality that once your 3rd child is born, you have to default to a minivan. Great cars but whoever decided on the specs needs to get a reality check behind a shed. They will loose a lot of sales.
