The classic is much better then the new one in my opinion, looks better and I like the interior more, the new one is so damn busy especially with that huge screen. Not my cup of tea!

Yay, a warlock review, it's been awhile. What's nice about these trucks is you can easily build off them, they have been around for awhile, so parts and accessories shouldn't be a issue if you want to lift it, add a custom hood, bigger tires ect, not to mention the price point on these makes them very affordable.. interestingly enough the late 2021s are supposed to have a off road package added-order code( ASJ) it's supposed to step up to a more aggressive off road tire package right from the factory. Pretty much another step closer to a budget Rebel.. personally I liked warlock's.

Nice review, I like how your videos are straight to the point and informative. I feel like you should have gone over more of the options with this one though. We just factory ordered one and you can get alot of options that will change the truck quiet a bit.

Just bought one last night that was a custom order that the customer bailed on. I ended up getting it for $40,000. So far I love it. The new trucks are, IMO, for people who want essentially a luxury vehicle, not a truck.

@@briannishi3728 Depends on the options you get, specifically the engine. With the 345 (5.7 for those that want to get technical), you get the "black" interior color, but it isn't really black, more of a dark grey. At least that is how mine is outfitted.

Not sure what vehicles you have had in the past, but compared to my last actual full-size truck (standard 2 door cab and 8' bed), my Warlock is longer than that truck. Takes some getting used to driving it in town, and not taking the corners too sharp and running over things, damaging the rims. And yes that is important, they are not repairable steel.

You hit this right! If you're looking for a new truck or your first truck this is a value package deal. I got my first new truck in 2020 and the rebates alone we're almost $6000 off. I like my Warlock so far! It doesn't have all the best of everything but it's still a new truck that I can add better things to as I can afford to.

You comment on the chrome exhaust tips, but those are only on the V-8. The 6 has the exhaust dump out a single pipe on the side. The other things I think should have been blacked out is the RAM on the grille, and the lug nuts. Another thing you missed when showing the overhead lights, which is understandable since it is so light out, there is a map light that is on in that spot behind the 2 push button lights that shines right on the front of the center console/seat area.

If they were to discontinue the "Classic Series" they would no longer have a regular cab/short bed option for the single people without families. This would leave Ford with no competition, being the only RCSB left in production.

Our Warlocks in Canada are literally just the Rebel 16’s from the US. We have the huge digital screens and the middle seat is just a big console. We also have the bed lights. It’s interesting to see the difference in trim lines. That exact model you just drove the the 1500 Night in Canada, with the smaller screens and the middle seat.

There's different packages available for the US trucks too. It's just totally random like they're literally made with leftover parts. My Warlock has express wheels but an $800 Sport hood, express basic steering wheel with no audio controls but uconnect 8.4, power sliding rear window but not power folding mirrors, express seat fabrics but the nicer center gauge cluster, and the vents and knobs have trim around them like a big horn. It's a weird truck

Here in Canada they are asking 56k after a bunch of discounts. Im thinking still to expensive for an old truck. Problem is chevy is asking 62k which way too much for me. Maybe wait for the new frontier? I don't need a v8 but I like warlock style

Pretty sure that the Warlocks in the U.S. are basically also slightly restyled 4th Gen Rebels, with the exception of you can get a Warlock with a quad cab. Because of the whole "Classic" deal, the Warlocks are DS series, just like the '16 Rebels. Matter of fact, any RAM up to '18 is a DS.

I absolutely love my warlock! I think it's perfect because it doesn't have crazy bells and whistles in it. Not all of us want technology and I pick up trucks. We just want a pickup truck. It ride smooth with a little bit of rough with a heavy duty springs. It's got basic controls inside. Less to break. Interior is easy to clean. My only complaint is finding customizing cards can be a little tricky because you have to depend on your vendor to pick the right part. Some places still are mentioning Dodge even though it's a ram. Some places mention warlock others just mentioned 1500 classic. And then don't forget to make sure you select crew cab versus quad cab depending on what you have. Fantastic truck. Pick mine up for 389 a month on a lease. 10,000 mi. Nice deal.

You have to be careful with that, but the good thing is, the places that I have found that have taken the effort to list the 1500 Classic will also have the subsets, like Warlock, as a section. Otherwise, you can just use the old DS product line, the 1500 up to 2018, and it *should* fit your Classic just fine.

I always just assumed that they had too much inventory left over of the Gen 4 so they continued with the "classic" versions to make some money on those older parts instead of scrapping them. Either they didn't sell as many as they wanted to or they planed to make the gen 4 into the 2020's but had to release the gen 5's early to compete with Ford.

The classic is a more masculine style than the new ones. If adding after market parts the classic style looks more rugged than the modern design

You put a decent size rim and tire change the front hood there's a company out there that is now making the TRX hood for the regular Rams and being the bumpers are metal get the bumpers and Grill painted I probably would not go with the white truck because of the black Fender Flares but a graphite or even just something with matching fender flares will change the look of the truck

The interior of the classic fits perfectly into the Dodge lineup. Just as new as the current Charger and Challengers.

ugh i always hated the dial shifter, my 2013 has a gear shifter on the center console soon after that they switched to the dial. I would rather have it behind the steering wheel rather than as a dial

@@TheGeorgeee13 Yeah, the Warlock, but this was posted a few months ago. Many dealers did, in fact, have many to chose from. But with chip supply issues, prices have gone up, and it's hard to find more basic spec Warlocks. So, I would adjust my expectations a little on price. Still, compared to any Toyota truck, you'll be paying a lot less. Even like mid-spec Tacoma TRDs will be around $36,000-$40,000, which is sticker price. They just won't deal them. In some cases, there's even markups. Honestly, if possible, I would just avoid buying new trucks right now. There's too many productions problems driving up prices.

I had a 2020 DT (new style) Laramie and yes it rides really smooth. Didn't like all the safety tech and just felt a little too car like. Just picked up my 2022 mostly loaded Warlock (the one they show here is pretty basic) and actually prefer it. People like me is probably why RAM keeps making them. That and they make a ton of profit on these considering all the tooling at the factory is long paid for.

@@St62837 lol @ "slow" In factory trim, the 345/5.7l Hemi Warlock can get 0-60 MPH in about 6.5 seconds. For a truck that weighs in excess of 2.5 tons (U.S.), that is pretty damn quick. With a K&N replacement filter (no other air intake mods or tunes), it gets down to about 6 flat. I had to put it in 4x4 (both tests) to make sure it put all that effort into going forward, not spinning the tires until the traction control kicked in. @I'm Not Using My Real Name The 5.7l is the same one offered on pretty much every other Dodge vehicle with the same size motor. I don't know about the 6-cylinder if it is the same as the others or not. But I believe the output on the trucks is slightly higher than that of the cars that use the same size (5.7) engine.

It has it? Damn that's a great feature that sadly not many 4x4 vehicles have. (The true Jeeps have it for example.) As you know you can't disconnect the drivetrain from the wheels with an automatic transmission so that's why there's a neutral in the transfer case. Excellent for off-road recovery when you can't call a normal tow truck.

I think if ram is gonna keep the classic do it ONLY FOR THE "RAM SPORTS" I have the 2017 ram 1500 sport lime green I LOVE IT I don't like the fact there are only 3k made and I would love it if ram brought the classic sport back and only for the classic I would and even if all ram does is change the lights or grill I wouldn't car I just would like a 2021 ram sport lime green classic PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ RAM BRING THE GREEN BACK😥😥

Put vinyl seats in it and bring back the crew cab. I don't do cloth and my kids won't fit! Otherwise, I'd buy one. It looks better than the new one and does the important stuff well enough I would go with the less expensive truck.

@@wulf-3596 For about 1800 dollars you could get heated katzskins (not sure of my spelling) installed and take care of that. There are also aftermarket heated seat options. My kids are... kids... so vinyl has it's merits :-). But I hear you - it's poverty spec. To me that's the genius of a truck - it's made for abuse. I just figure, compared to the 50 stripper 2.7 XL, the 40k electric version that costs about 1/5 to run and doesn't need regular maintenance is a screaming bargain. Even if you invest a bit after purchase to make it cozy. Now about a heated steering wheel...

@@davids1816 Just saying, from when I was busy being a kid, vinyl after sitting in the sun *SUCKS*. I get the whole kids deal but there is something to be said about cloth instead of vinyl, the other 'poverty spec' side of that coin. And spending that kind of $ means they are likely not vinyl at that point.

@@wulf-3596 Oh I know - my father had an F350 when I was a boy and it had the red vinyl seats that went from ice cube to skillet in like a 2 degree temperature range. My Ram has cloth but we agreed when we bought it that we'd keep the option open of putting leather in it if the seats get too gross. Time will tell :-)

@@davids1816 If you purchased this vehicle new, the option is usually out there to get some sort of material protectant, like Simonize/Scotch Guard/etc. If it wasn't purchased new by you, and you have no idea if the original owner did this or not, then it might be worth looking into getting that done anyway. Take it and get the interior cleaned before this step tho. It does add some cost, but it has to be cheaper than new leather seat covers. And also doesn't subject your collective cheeks to 3rd degree burns with vinyl imprints.

Nice to for once see a review that's not complaining or degrading a vehicle just because it doesn't have ridiculous amounts of technology, leather and chrome in it. Not everybody wants that. People still want basic vehicles to get them from point A to point b. I don't want to drive around a NASA space center with a living room on wheels.

If the carpet is replaced with hard plastic material, then it is perfect. This is exactly what a working horse vehicle suppose to be, durable materials and short of fancy electronics features which make this thing unreliable.

Mine came with the heavy duty rubber mats that are usually offered on the all-terrain package, but for some reason, they didn't give me the wheels that usually come with that.

Since the Warlock is a 1500 Classic, it has the exact body style it is supposed to have. RAM is selling the 4th Gens past 2018 under the Classic line, as well as the 5th Gens from 2019 on.

This is just one version of the warlock, mine has power sliding rear glass, uconnect 8.4, big horn drivers gauge display, heated wheel and seats, sport hood, and tow package for $38k.

I bought mine largely because of the Warlock name. You can get it without the Warlock sticker on the bedside, if that is the only thing you don't like about the truck.

You would call it a 2021 because, uhm, it IS a 2021. Good, bad, or indifferent, RAM decided to continue making the 4th Gens along side the 5th Gens.

What makes you say that? With the exception of a different color (mine is Hydro Blue Pearl), it is a Warlock. Just doesn't have the hood stripe or Warlock sticker on the bedsides. It is still a Warlock.

Just Reduce the Price a bit more so the average Guy/Gal can buy them. Great for a person that doesn't care about all the NEW bling and wants just a truck that we all grew up in sure I love the new models but this is still a Bulldog !! **EDIT** upgrade stereo lol
