It's shameful that the Oscars didn't have an appropriate tribute to DeHavilland, one of the greatest actresses of the Golden Age- The Heiress, Adventures of Robin Hood, The Snake Pit, Light In The Piazza, and for Sean Connery for his immeasurable contributions to the art of cinema.

SAG is dedicated to film and TV actors only. The Oscars involve everyone involved in film. Therefore, the Oscars memorial has more people …. And also seems to “leave more people out” which is often controversial because the general public is more aware of actors.

@katherinefisher81813 жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting this! For some reason it was cut out of the video of the complete show that I watched. I so wish the In Memoriam at the Oscars was like this, like it used to be. Now they try to fit so many people on there that it's just a bunch of pictures and names. If it's not an actor we recognize or a big name we're familiar with, then it's meaningless to the average movie goer. Here, smaller names are put in context by showing them as the most well known character they played. I remember previously at the Oscars, non-actors who were smaller names were shown with a poster of the most successful film they worked on. Or, costume designers were shown with a picture of shot of an actor wearing one of their costumes. That way we, the average movie lover, would know if we'd seen this person's work in a film even if we don't recognize their name. But those days are over :(
