I generally like your content and the way you present it. It doesn't matter so much if other channels have covered the same stuff. I understand that it's more competition for viewers in this genre. But your enthusiasm, knowledge, humor and opinions are unique to you. Hope you have great 2022

The reason why they get so many subscribers is that they are making videos on popular retro hardware. They have some weird stuff, but focus on known and very cool hardware videos. You for now have weird stuff which is great but you could focus on some big ticket items so that you show up in search results. I found your channel due to you having mainframe stuff here. Well done!

Sp what I am saying is: You can probably get a great job in IT. So you should get a job doing that to get a bunch of money every month. The market wants you. Good luck!

The quality of your productions is HIGHER than shallow or slick overedited pap. Content matters - not ring lights, bumper music, or a nice backdrop. I'd be happy to see you review things other people have - to me as a viewer, that's really not a big deal and it makes it even more relevant as every reviewer reveals a different facet. Don't undersell yourself - real people are exactly what I want to see on youtube, not personalities or influencers. Don't hesitate to connect with big-name youtubers, they may be able to throw you support or endorsements. I think you should monetize, but have a clear policy against e-begging, against producing fluffy/short content just so you can insert the patreon or sponsor plug at the end, and against keeping any material that's sent for review (which counts as remuneration for me). Maybe start another channel for non-monetized content. If you're ever heading to Atlanta give me a shout - I'd love to have you over to our makerspace or provide my extra airbnb apartment to crash. Love your work. Cheers.

Feel free to make content that is already out there. I would prefer to watch your videos instead of the others. Cheers bud.

KZfaq have gotten a little more aggressive with putting ads on things. A lot of channels have given up on not having ads as youtube will put ads on some videos anyway so they might aswell monetize it and get that algorithm boost.

Buddy according to techlead, he has moved in with his parents again, apparently it is coming back in style :). But hey I need to give you this advice, you should focus on jobs that create higher value and which subsequently generate a higher wage for you. You can do it no doubt. Rooting for you. I don't recommend a storage unit, it will cause an increase in chaos.

Once that damn cash register is out of the way I can move the shot a little more to the right.

Think of it as a teaser in the video frame, just like the NCR cash register ;)

Monetize. THIS should be your job.

Why is your channel not monetized? Not enough watch time? You have enough subs.
@DandyDon1

I'm sure you understand that YT killed the monetization process for many creators. This forced many creators to use Patreon and other monetization types of organizations.

@@DandyDon1 I know they changed the requirements a few years ago, to my knowledge you need 1,000 subs and 4,000 hours watch time in the last 12 months. Is that no longer the case?

@@InternetDude I do actually qualify and I can apply to monetize whenever but my knowledge on how it works is admittedly very dated. Initially it was monetized by partnerships, then later through youtube, but with very strict strikes. I don't know if the stricter than normal strikes is still a thing. I've had trouble getting first-hand assistance with how it works now, so I'd rather not risk the channel until I know nothing will immediately explode.

@@CelGenStudios I think you should make time to figure it out and stop turning down free money. I was booted from the program because of the changes but eventually got back in. Just re-apply or whatever. Stop worrying and just do it 😁

@@InternetDude The last time YT changed their monetization policy and I was excluded, I stopped paying close attention. Seems the amount you are paid is so minute, it's only really pocket change.

Fran of FranLab has run into the same problem with old educational films. She explained that all of the old "industrial" musical content was bought up by a corporation(s) to represent third party entities. Where as they try to "collect" on all of this old stuff.

With all of the computer equipment you own, I've often wondered how you keep the lights on. I have one Lenovo TD350 ThinkServer which has inflated the Edison bill, since it of course runs 24/7.

NCR Class 52, is that the type which has rotary numerals which I remember as a kid would "bounce" when they came to the locked resting position? In a relatively quiet room you could hear the bouncing action as they came to a complete rest.
