I looked through the videos on here to try and find anything on the mass airflow sensor relay. That's the code that keeps coming up. I have changed the MAF sensor, spark plugs, PCV, and PCV hose, as well as the air filter. I did call the dealership and they say that there's not a MAF sensor relay but I keep getting that code. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Twin turbo V8 would be wild. Not a fan of the big tombstone grill. Light bars are cool though. Headlights 👍

Naturally aspirated 4 cylinder hybrid electric Tacoma is what I would want. I don't care for turbos in anything because they don't hold up long term and it leads to faster engine wear.

That would be cool. Less complexity, better for long term. Diesel engine definitely is not going to happen in US, as the lead engineer has stated in other interviews.

The only thing that beats cubic inches...is more cubic inches! I would think they would have learned there lesson dropping the 4.0 to a 3.5...a turbov8 or twin turbo 4 cylinder might be cool on paper but the rest of the drive train would then be a weak link and would need to be upgraded $$$. Fire the designer that designed that grill🤢.

I’d like to see how the Tundra hybrid holds up after 5+ years. The lead engineer has said there engines will hold 300k + miles but an electric drivetrain is another thing. Good on them by choosing nickel metal batteries over more advance ones to reduce costs and have more availability.

2nd gen 4.0L V-6 is most reliable. I bought old over new and will continue too. If they keep going down this path Toyota will be as bad as Ford and Chevy with 38 speed transmissions, half electronic engines and class action lawsuits do to drivetrain problems. Tacoma’s lack of power is dwarfed by its reliability. They keep messing with it and they’ll have garbage! Love your vids!!! 2nd gen or nothing!!!

Gen 3 engine V-6 needs something. I had a rental for a week and was shocked out how bad it was. Couldn't want to get back into my 4.0. I think if they went to more 8 or 10 speed transmission it would help. I am surprised Toyota hasn't done something to the 4runner drive train to test it for the Tacoma. I also wasn't impressed with the MPG so a hybrid would be great. It would suck to lose the storage under rear seat. Is the Gen 3 backseat legroom smaller than Gen 2? Sure seem when I had my front seat position there was barely any room behind. In my Gen 2 I can fit a mid size cooler.

I agree. I hated the 3rd gen headlights. The 2.5 gen had the best headlights imo. The new tundra headlights do look impressive tho. Would be nice if the tacoma had that with a smaller grill lol

That will probably happen. There’s a 4 cylinder turbo already pumping in the Lexus NX and IS. With a few changes for better torque low to mid range and you could have the engine for the future Taco... + just put an electric engine between that engine and the transmission and you have a hybrid Taco but would be knocking the doors in terms of price at other bigger competitors

When I think of lighting options in the grill my mind goes to the fact that there will already be preinstalled wiring for future aftermarket parts.

No V8? IMO, no full size should not have the option of a V8. Love Toyota and my Tacoma... and I will eventually get a full size, but this just helped me narrow it down even more. Sorry, no Tundra for me.

I'm sort of 50/50 on it. It's supposed to be better for on-road driving and towing ... but they've said nothing about the offroad side.

I'd only want a hybrid turbo 4.0V6. I love my 4.0 in my 2012 trd sport. It's got plenty of power! More than than the 3rd gen 3.5. Not a fan of 4 bangers in trucks 🤮

Turbo V6 would be great but I doubt that would happen. Seems like every other auto maker is downsizing the engine when a turbo option is added.

Personally I'd like to see an hybrid version of the tacoma, I feel trucks need the extra power el gasoline and the rav4 prime has prove to be a very well rounded vehicle.

Let's bring back the Factory warrantied TRD Supercharger Toyota! Or give us back some of displacement. The 4.0L with TRD Supercharger was the last time you offered any actual performance, now it's just a sticker with 3 letters with no substance to back it up. Much like Mercedes with AMG. Franks Redhot="You put that $h!t on Everything" The base model and the TRD Pro shouldn't have the same power for the giant price gap between both, you should be embarrassed.
