Great review Mr. Meyn. I just purchased a Sport-L yesterday. The ergonomics, usability of the tech, smoothness of the power train and comfortable seats sold me (coming from a CX-5). I do wish it had a few more features like homelink mirror , rear air vents etc. but given inflation we’ve experienced Honda had to cut costs somewhere to keep the car affordable. Your conclusion on pricing is spot on. I was able to get just under $2000 off MSRP in Houston. When you look at the price of CRVs which often selling for markups this is a steal, if the hauling ability of an SUV isn’t truly needed. You’re right about EX-L being the most obvious value trim. I did test drive an EX-L as well back to back with the Sport-L and for me the ride quality and noise weren’t noticeably different . Since the styling of this generation is a little plain, the sport L trim in red adds some flair that balances the looks of the car. I can live with the slight mpg hit and a few less features. Black headliner is also nice and elevates the experience. Great car and I hope it helps keep midsize sedans alive awhile longer in the US. Just my two cents.

I got a EXL. I wanted a NPC car, I got a NPC car. Its not fast but it is zippy around town. I am happy with it. Two things to note: adaptive cruise control loves to brake check people and i have to take over alot. It fights too hard to maintian distance and if someone slows down or merges or you are going down hill in it will tap the brakes. There is no pause play button on the wheel. Its such a dumb oversight. They have skip forward and back, and volume controls. But the only way to start and stop audio is off the center screen or nob right infront of it.

I appreciate the '23 Accord Hybrid for what it is but as the owner of a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T. the new Accord just isn't for me. I have been spoiled by the power of the 2.0T engine and I can't see myself giving that up, even for the stellar fuel economy offered by the new Accord. I just wish that Honda had dropped the 1.5T engine, offered the hybrid version as their core powerplant and kept the 2.0T for those of us who appreciate higher performance.
@MeynMotorGroup10 ай бұрын
That is a great idea my friend, it would be nice if they made the hybrid the base power plant and offered the 2.0T as an option. Thanks again for stopping by and massive congrats on owning a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T!

I kept hoping Acura would bring hybrid models to the TLX and pair it with the 2.0T 10 speed DCT as the best of all worlds. The practical side of me wants a the practicality of the hybrid. The fun side of me loves the styling of the Acura. The 10G Accord looked very similar to the TLX...almost like cousins. The 11G has a different look completely. IMO, the look is entirely dependent on the wheels. The non-hybrid model wheels and 17 inch wheels on the EX-L make the Accord look like a bland rental. The regular Sport wheels look good. The Sport-L black wheels look OK on gray/urban gray, but look like a teenager bought aftermarket rims on the other colors. The Touring wheels look fantastic. It transforms the car into something that looks stylish. Agree that 40k is a lot to pay for a loaded 'standard sedan'. But the way car prices have escalated, it's still a pretty good value. You're not getting into an low end luxury sedan this size for under 45k. Even the lowest level TLXs are jumping from 40k to 46k in 2024.
@timurturgan620510 ай бұрын
Difference between media sheet and sales sheet, media says premium is recommended, but not required. In the cars where the actual premium fuel is required( acura tl type s), they are going to put “required premium” not recommended, so you can put regular in new accord
@MeynMotorGroup10 ай бұрын
This is true my friend this is why I recommend 1.5T buyers who plan on keeping for a long time to use premium fuel in that particular vehicles but for hybrid shoppers to def use regular

The reason the Nissan gets a bad rep for their CVT is because there are well documented issues and failures at low mileage. They are made by Jatco and are known to be one of the worst CVT's in the industry. While I don't necessarily like CVT's, I'd take a Honda or Toyota CVT over a Nissan every day of the week. I DO like the look of the Nissan sedans though. Great review!

Finally. Someone explained the fuel type ambiguity. I would not have purchased our '23 Touring if I thought for one moment that I needed to put Premium in it. 4000 miles and averaging 46.3 mpg in about a 50/50 mix of city/highway driving. I know it will drop with winter coming in the Midwest.

You mentioned somewhere that the ventilated seats dont vent anything. That's pretty important for me, but maybe it was exaggerated? How does it compare to another vehicle's ventilation, like the 2025 Camry?
@baldygrey27792 ай бұрын
Hey, I know this is an older video so I hope you see this but I have to ask...when you say the cooled seats aren't cooling anything, do you mean that you can hear the seat fans but barely feel anything in the way of cooling? That's what my TLX does, and when I looked into it this is fairly common on some Honda/Acura models. Just wondering if that's the same thing you noticed here. Thanks!

With the poor quality of the roads here in the northeast I don’t understand why manufacturers keep moving towards smaller sidewall tires/larger wheels. On sports cars it’s understandable but for family sedans it’s ridiculous. As for the fuel, what does it say inside the fuel door?

The 2.0L Hybrid reviewed here is not a CVT. They call it "eCVT," but it isn't a transmission at all. Most of the time, the engine drives a generator, and it powers the car as an EV. Not a _battery_ EV, but a battery and generator EV. But when a conventional car would use overdrive, it connects a single-gear, direct-drive overdrive gear.

No siriusXM is kinda crazy in a car like this but no biggie since it has carplay/android auto. Btw the ventilated seats might just suck in this car but I believe the AC has to be on for them to work in certain vehicles.. personally I think the vehicle is too big and I prefer Civic size car (pretty much the same interior size as the 90s accords).
@MeynMotorGroup10 ай бұрын
Idk my friend, I had the AC on and it didn't make a difference Civic would be fine for many or Integra
@TheJttv10 ай бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup vented seats and cooled seats are different. Vented seats just force cabin air thru the seats. You will really only notice it if you blow your AC at your feet and let the seat intake the cool air from the floor. An AC cooled seat has a direct pipe from the AC system and will blow a lot colder and more noticeable. I have a EXL with no vented seats which was something i thought i was gonna greatly miss, but the electric AC system in this car is really fast and its not needed.
