We finally drove the recently launched 2023 Kia Seltos facelift to find out all its big positives and negatives. While it surely has become more feature-rich, it's also the most powerful/fastest car in its category, thanks to the new 1.5-litre Turbocharged engine. This engine puts out an impressive 158bhp and 253Nm and is claimed to do 0-100kmph sprint in less than 9 seconds. Though we could manage to do the same in 10.5 seconds with two people in the car weighing over 160kgs in total. While it still offers multiple engine options - 1.5-litre NA, 1.5-litre Turbo and 1.5-litre diesel, its Turbo and diesel version don't get a proper manual transmission. They instead get a 1.5-litre iMT - a clutchless manual transmission. Prices of the vehicle range from 10.89 lacs to Rs 19.99 lacs (ex-showroom)

When you are suggesting people go with the X-Line, you should also explain all the differences in maintaining the matte finish compared to the glossy finish of the other variants. Leaving out these details is a bit irresponsible on your part.

Still MG Astor has the most luxurious interiors in the segment. But features wise Seltos has nailed it because the resolution and clarity of camera, quality of music system, ventilated seats, touch response of the infotainment system, the drivers screen unit, all these things feel much premium than the Astor.

The interirors in the X-Line variant are excellent but the matte finish is a deal breaker for me. It's just too difficult to maintain. You'll have to get PPF if you want to keep the matte paint looking good but that is another 1 Lac+ expense. Scratches are easily removeable on glossy paint but with matte paint, the whole panel needs to be repainted. Unless you get the PPF. Other than the interiors, not much difference between GTX+. The HUD is useless. I initially booked the X-Line because of the interirors but ended up going with the GTX+ just because I don't want the hassle of dealing with the matte finish.

Exactly, matte finish will look bad after a few years without ppf, the interiors are great but even the gtx+ ones are fine and you’re not stuck with one color option.

yeah its reliable but you have to learn some of the quirks of driving a DCT. Put it in neutral on stop lights and not to brake ride, otherwise its a smooth as butter transmission.@@aaromal2069

@@BigGunner234Dont let people fool you , There is no need for you to get a 1 lakh rupee ppf done , ask kia dealership itself that you want to completely paint your car from outside ( thoda jugaad and car ke history mein v nhin aayega ) . I got it done on my creta for 82k after 4 years of use

just polish and repaint the whole car to glossy and its cheaper than getting a ppf for the car . so you keep both the top variant and reduce the cost of maintaince by spending a little for a new paint job

hi sir..... all your reviews are very nice and informative. My request to have one video regarding different car's maintainance, engine reliability, spare parts availability, resale value, cost comparison of commonly used wear & tear parts like brake shoes, air filter, oil filter etc and frequency of wear and tear under normal driving condition. It would help us all buyers to decide the perfect car as per need and requirement. I didn't find a perfect vid on this across the net. Everyone just reviews the visible physical things of the car. But what I have mentioned is definitely a imp aspect for Indian buyer. If possible kindly make a video on this.

Very good video. One expert suggestion I want from you. I own the 2021 X Line (Top Model). I am wanting to change and buy the new Seltos but I am also fascinated by Honda Elevate (Now even more with mileage figures out). Suggest me which one to go for? @@ajithprabhas7021 nobody went for X-Line finally 😂 2 have booked the Black Color GT+ (1 Turbo Petrol DCT & 1 Diesel AT) The other 2 is still thinking 😆 The Turbo Petrol DCT friend has a KIA CODE (I think there is some facilities for previous KIA owners) so he will get the car delivered soon… 👍🏻

KZfaqrs nowadays blindly provide biased reviews!! No hate on Seltos but look at this guy mentioned in thumbnail saying its the fastest car! With 160ps /253 tarique it may win 400 meters dragrace / maintain a car length gap against Kushaq/ Taigun but can it really beat handling/ safety front??! Are we blindfolded and buying unsafe cars? Are we blindly buying cars just for getting gimmicks inside?? Look at US / global markets as people hardly die in accidents We have seen people survived in major crashes as the cars have strong built/stable chasis Don't we deserve such build cars? Why are we not considering such cars and end up buying built 2* cars? Sadly Kia did not even mention about its structure but just by giving air bags / gimmics will save us?! Go for DCT. And drive in manual mode in city to avoid the gearbox heating issue. Bcz these DCT’s and DSG’s get very confused in traffic and keep on up shifting and down shifting. Manual mode will keep the gears in control.

i am confused in Gtx+ and Xline variant i want to know about xline color since it is a dark grey matt color looks great and premium but i am worried about maintaince of matt color. Is it good to buy matt color how it will work in long terms usuage and how to maintain it like washing or precautions required for it. Or should i opt for gtx+ variants which has glossy finish.

Matt is hard to maintain, have to wash with a microfiber cloth, get it if you are willing to get a ppf on top of it.

I’m also in the same dilemma as you. People say it’s not so easy to maintain Matt colour. But x line provides HUD and green sort of interiors it looks great. And price difference is also 20k only which is vfm. So I decided to go for x line.

I only wish that Kia improves the build-quality and VW/ Škoda brings in ADAS features, especially the blind spot camera/ warning, and automatic braking.. That will make the fight more interesting.. (I don’t think lane keep assist is of any real use in Indian conditions, so giving that a pass.)

Being a Slavia owner i can say one thing the interior quality of the car is shit and AC cuts off on its own in traffic. The milage is merely 6kmpl also the driver side window is super sluggish and sometimes doesn’t roll up in one go. Though driving wise and built quality of the car is great but there is so much cost cutting everywhere to compensate build quality!

@@karanb8489 That's what I have noticed in my friend's Kushaq as well. AC issue in the traffic, Avg is exactly 6kmpl, the salesperson said 14-15 in the city which is just a lie. the driver window button is sluggish and sometimes doesn't even work at all. They went with build quality but skipped on everything else, which for a car costing approx 20 lakhs should not be expected.

Excellent presentation sir. Very nice package. Wish there was X line without panoramic sunroof option and TC instead of DCT. No matter what, Indian seltos brings back that picture of being broken into two pieces which can break ones heart.

I am planning for htx 1.5 petrol manual I think it is good option considering price as per your video, but, as per your drive is suspension good for city ride, because on highways slightly stiffer suspension is good.

For first car maruthi , Hyundai, Kia , Toyota makes sense...easy to maintain..u can damage them and resale easily.....ur next car can be vw , skoda , merc , bmw etc ..these German cars will imprint in your DNA,..then u ll start loving cars..till then learn driving ans basics of maintenance in the brands mentioned.

Feedback: talk more in details about the technicalities driving experience suspension, noise , handling dynamics … May be reduced some info which is already covered in previous video, if length is a concern.

Not sure if you have seen the whole video. We dedicated at least 6-7 minutes explaining how the suspensions feel and if they have improved the ride quality or handling. Yes we didn’t talk about the NVH levels, which we should have. But we didn’t since we only tested the 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Petrol engine are generally way more refined than their diesel counterparts.

One should be aware of build quality and safety aspects of any car but hardly anyone comments on same, may be to help car companies. That's bad as apart from mileage and technology safety aspect should matter in buying decision.

Icn team is so impressed with the car and you seems to be promoting it to ur highest level. By the way since u were criticizing germans brands so was lil upset to hear. I am ex media employee so i know ur reason of such promotion. But u is it safe? Is the built quality improved? No body knows, safe cars dont give promises of saving ur life but it increases ur changes of being safe to higher extent. Since its just facelift so those aspects dont get addressed. And un new GNCAP norms it cant even retain its 3 star rating. So please promote safe cars for indians and unsafe featureloaded cars. At the end we all r wise enough.

The cabin is very closterphobic head space is less if u are more then 5.10 height yes engine is fast but where is safety and if u have to get x line top varient u have to spend nearly about 23 L on road And one more thing car does feel very small

@@AvinashYadav-do8hq if u can afford 28 l. I suggest go with XUV only. Better looks , better road attraction, better displacement,better power, better performance and better safety and it has adas also in top variant.

@@AvinashYadav-do8hq but if ur taking 7 seater boot space is very low but can fold third row seats to get ample boot space but it defeats the purpose of 7 seater but it's ur choice. The dark blue looking awsm. What color u have booked by the way.
