❤Taylor😢tough topic: I'm ex military and by sheer luck survived a suicide attempt after encountering the sheer horror of child mutilations and murder on the African continent. The hopelessness and pointlessness of existance broke my soul, and I wanted out of the pain and absurdity of life. The birth of my daughter, down the road changed my outlook on the endless posibilities that can happen, if you just trudge forward every day😊 Unfortunately my beautiful daughter took her own life 24yrs later😢Despite my initial rage, dispair and howling at the moon. I acknowledged with an aching heart her choice. Suicide can be heroic, it can be unheroic, but it is part of the human condition and needs openly talked about❤: Chad workout ,reminds me of Sisyphus, the guy that rolls the rock up the hill😮, which leads me suggest people read Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus. This novel philosophically discusses the subject of suicide❤ Anywhoo smash the next kilt dude😊

I have been sober for 16 years. I haven’t been in the mindset of suicide but my dad did. I try to bring awareness every way I can. Chad was a hero. Him committing suicide doesn’t take away from the work he did as a Navy Seal. He couldn’t get out of the deepest darkest place because of tbi and depression. No one wants to commit suicide there just doesn’t seem like a way out.

It seems to me...while everyone will get through it...this will result in injuries later in the weekend. Excellent show.

I'm looking forward to this event. And I liked the marathon row too!

The twist for Chad is it’s gonna be the only event to use z score with cuts every 100 reps. So you have to make the choice, get significantly more points or save your body.

I think people are putting too much stock in "it will be boring to watch" forgetting how many people enjoy watching things like marathons, Tour de France, etc. It just means you have to have good camera men and a solid commentary team to keep people invested.

The difference in my opinion is during a marathon or the tour you can see people jockey for position and strategize when to make their moves. Idk if we’ll see that in this event which could make it boring. But you are right the camera crew needs to be on point for this.

What if, on the football field they do 50 step ups, then move the box 5 yards. Do that every 5 yards and they can have a race down the field.

I’m sure that’s how they’ll do it. Going to be excited to watch the last few yards!

I agree with Taylor, when Chad was announced I was really hoping that they were going to partner with a suicide awareness organization to give them a platform in the middle of the event to talk to those listening on the stream, and have informational resources to people at the event.

I love the Chad workout - perseverance can beat pure physicality to an uncanny degree. But do it with the men's height obviously, for the men, and move boxes every 100 reps to make it a race. Twist: any-hold sandbag, no ruck! 😅

CrossFit games has Rogue makes the mountain, but 20 inch steps. Complete 200 reps on the first step. In the 200th step, start the next 200 steps on the next step. The first one to complete the 200 reps in the top step. Is the winner, standing at the top of the mountain.

One exception to suicide which some countries in Europe have understood: terminal illness with unbearable pain and no remedy - systems are now thankfully in place to help people in such conditions avoid unnecessary suffering when they so choose. I realize that's a very special case but as societies get older, an important one. Countries that are too dogmatic about religion often don't have solutions or options for their citizens. Greetings from 🇨🇭

IMO Chad workout is a workout for the Heros still alive dealing with depression etc. I never felt like Chad was directly and only honoring just Chad but was a general military health awareness workout. Cuz they always call it that

Chad will be the FNL event. Cuts are not until after Saturday mornings event so Chad being prior to the cuts makes more sense. Twist will be run a lap every 100 reps. The field already has 20 “lanes” outlined on the field not counting the end zones. Line 20 men on each side of the field closest to the track. Logistically it’s a no brainer super easy set up. There will be a 45 min time cap. The heat sucks here yes but an evening event 7-7:30pm as sun is going down on paper for them seems safe and it checks their “outside event” box.

PS elimination style could work if it were the last event 😈😉
@bgg7518
@bgg7518 8 күн бұрын
Regarding elimination style.. You could eliminate athletes for scoring purposes but still have them complete the 1000 reps. So no one is getting any advantages in terms of doing less work

Taylor with all due respect, stop being a tough guy who calls out wokeness if you can’t even go after the lqbtq mafia. Greg was wrong to fire Russell Berger and Trish is spot on that was a big step toward the end.

Love the show but crap Taylor stop reading pointless comments instead of responding to JR. I’m always curious of what he’s about to say when he gets cut off then just waits and goes to another subject while you rant on idiotic comments. Love you guys!

Chad has me confused. Didn't TDC just say after semifinals that programers shouldn't make the competition about the events? So are we supposed to talk about Chad the workout and Chad Wilkinson and the Step up foundation or just put that to the side and just think of it as 'the 1000 step ups test' and talk about the fitness and the athletes? The whole concept of directly combining a community event with the Games gives me mixed feelings. Supporting a social cause is usually a free will kinda thing and suicide is a very polarizing topic, so if doing Chad means supporting the cause, why is it a Games event all athletes are doing? Cuz like Murph it's a badass workout? but isn't that undermining the cause then? Pissed that HQ is so bad at telling back stories, I have little hope they'll get any message out with the Games event Chad.

Okay so now you aren’t allowed to talk about anything that you yourself have not experienced. Way to play your hand douchebag. Are you a big Biden guy? Really against free speech and exploring thought? Foh.
