I love the Mazda MX-30 R-EV. Mazda have gone to great lengths to make a truly GREEN ECO CAR you wouldn’t be ashamed to drive or be seen in. Love the Crossover SUV Coupe design and the RX-8 Style doors. Propulsion is always directly via an electric motor - which in turn is powered by a 17.8 kWh battery - the charge which can be maintained via THAT new single rotor 830cc Wankel Rotary Extender engine - serving as a generator when required. As aptly described - this is NOT a car for “Long Distance Larry”. This is primarily a city car for your city commute of around 40 miles round trip entirely in EV mode - which means charging it every night. Restrict and utilise the the battery charging between 20% and 80% (I think that’s 38 miles pure EV mode per charge, and I assure you that small environment saving traction battery, despite daily charging will last the lifetime of the car. Spend the week commuting in EV mode and go further on weekends utilising the Rotary Range Extender - and you’ll find it cheap to run and still end up with high MPGs. Well done Mazda….!!! 😊

The car is great this the type of car we need, but the exterior style needs to change to a luxury style

What drive mode were you in? I guess it may not matter that much on a long motorway trip

The all electric mx 30 had a pretty disapointing electric range so they have made this with less than half the electric range,oops now if they still had the 100 mile electric range with this system , success...what ev car makers seem to have forgotten is charging at home is the cheap to run and convenient bit, now i know people will say ,what if you cant charge at home, simple dont get an ev.
