I had never felt those dolby cinema seats shake as violently as the did during the worm riding scene. It genuinely left me speechless how impactful it made the entire sequence and it made me immediately want to add some shakers to my own seats at home just to prepare for this movie when i buy it.

⁠@@yungfolks2525Nolan’s films from Warner Bros. get expanded aspect ratios, and the Marvel films on Disney+ have IMAX Enhanced versions as well. I don’t think this is an IMAX decision nor a director’s decision-I think it’s a Warner Bros. decision. They might release it on Max in a larger aspect ratio or release a trilogy box set down the line with an expanded aspect ratio. Considering the whole film could be presented in 1.90:1, they could have used that aspect ratio with minimal letterboxing.

yeah,must buy.sadly its not a blockbuster,so im not sure if we will get 3rd movie.its not a general audience movie,but im still mad it didnt do that 1bln.nah,fuck streaming and studios that kill cinemas by rushing premieres on streaming to gain subs .other thing they make today mostly trash.this movie is just on another level

When I saw this in IMAX, my first thought was to the grandfather sand worm scene, and how it had more bass than any movie scene I’ve ever heard, and how it will sound at home.

Lol when asked why dune part 1 wasn't released in imax ratio Denis said there is atleast 1 imax physical media print out there. There's none. Once again dune part 2 despite being entirely shot in imax ratios still doesn't even have same aspect ratios in physical media what a disgrace. Heck no one's asking for full imax 1.43 ratio but atleast give the 1.98:1 aka16:8 ish aspect ratio of imax in Blu-ray. All hail the Chris Nolan. ❤

Yeah this channel is great but I don’t care for the 3 hour drunk live stream conversations about high end audio that cost as much as my 1/2 million dollar house like it’s something people are looking for…. And I like my booze just miss videos like this. This channel should seek more moderate budget talks and how they are mostly on par with insane products if they want more views. I just don’t care to watch 2 hour round tables about products that cost as much as car anymore…. It’s really not impressive and when you break most of those products down they aren’t ground breaking and prey on the OCDs of rich guys with endless amounts of money.

I had a problem with the audio balance. I got the standard Blu-Ray and a samsung soundbar/sub with no surround sound speakers. The problem I had was dialogue was too loud. It made most music and sound effects seem like background noise in comparison. For example when they shot down the helicopter and it came crashing into the ground it sounded great. However the next scene with them taking in the tent is noticeably louder. When you adjust the volume for the dialogue, then the helicopter crashing scene is so quiet that it has no impact. The whole movie just seemed dull because of the dialogue being so loud. Did I get a bad copy? Do I need a souround sound system to fix the audio balance issues? I suspect that maybe the dialogue is in the center channel and sound effect/music is in souround speakers which I don't have.

This is my favorite movie of the year so far. Saw it twice in theater, once at Dolby Cinema and the second time at Screen X with DTS: X. To the DTX: X fanboys/girls out there, the Atmos track outshined DTS for this movie. The DTS: X didn't sound bad, in fact, it was very good. But the bass was lacking compare to the Atmos track. I can't wait to watch it again on my home theater.

I am eagerly waiting for my copy to be delivered on May 14th. Loved it in Dolby Cinema theater. I know I will have to bring down the gain on my subs, otherwise the house might just collapse on us ( I usually go above 100 dbs).

Ok, so I have a copy of the UHD disc of Dune Part 2. It comes in at close to 70GB. I am not sure how KScape is getting 90gb. They must be adding multiple ATMOS tracks and DD+ tracks for different languages.

this is good to know since I've already pre-ordered this on amazon. I still have "The Crow" coming out the week before (...if I'm correct). I saw this is IMAX (in IMAX) ...but I am okay with this shown in scope for 4k UHD. I did love the mix for this movie and Part 1 one more than "Blade Runner: 2049"'s dolby atmos mix which was just noise in my book ( I told the AMC theater at the time that my ears were ringing from that mix). Dune Part 1 and 2 were loud in all the right ways and just better mixed in my book. The presentation visual for Dune ( outside of the truly stunning Feyd area sequence) in IMAX was fine in my book...but it was no "The Dark Knight" or "Dunkirk" in my book.

dont understand kaleidascope is 2.39:1. Streaming in superior 1.90:1, understood Kscope has more bitrate High quality, but why not 1.90:1

Also, more often than not Im happy to save the experience for the home theater. Ghostbusters gets an exemption though, so back off man, Im a s scientist.

If the kaleiderscape file sizes are anything to go by then the movie needs around 90GB for this level of quality but some people are saying it's less than 70GB on the 4K Blu-ray, that's a significantly smaller file and hugely disappointing ? Sounds like WB have put lots of extras on the 4K disk and reduced the file size to get away with making it a single disk release ? If it was a 4K disk just for the movie with included Blu-ray for movie/extras then I would snap it up but now I'm less inclined to pay full price 😞Will you be reviewing the 4K Blu-ray version Shane ? Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

In another comment, someone posted that the total size of all the extras is only about 6GB so it's even more confusing why the movie on the 4K disk is less than 70GB if the kaleiderscape uses 90GB. Oh well, in any case everyone seems to be giving the video on the 4K disk extreme praise so maybe it's not an issue.

Not a digital version. Kaleidescape isn't streaming/digital. The Kaleidescape might actually be better. The 4K disc will likely match Kaleidescape but the disc will not be better.

Well, I guess, to answer my own question, the experience of seeing it again on an IMAX screen in 70mm. Maybe some billionaires and A list film directors have their own personal IMAX home theaters, but the rest of us don't.

On Apple TV Dune 2 the picture is not 10. The color is very muted not vibrant at all. Is only vibrant on explosion. Also they shouldn't have transferred the digital to film and back to digital. Not satisfied with the picture at all. Dolby Atmos is magnificent. Best Atmos release ever. Demo. 20/10 for Atmos. Picture is a 6.

@@SSJ4Vegiito Nah it's not especially if you have a screen equivalent to a wall. I've a 150 inch curved screen and watching 21:9 and 16:9/1.9:1 makes a hell lot of difference

This was probably the loudest movie I've ever experienced in the theater. So much rumbling my soda went flat. Still salty they didn't release a 3D version like they did for pt 1.
