Yep. My wages have been the same for 5-years and with inflation the same wages have way less buying power. I plan to keep buying used, especially since we're saving for a house, which is also almost impossible with current inflation and interest.

Stephen, It is always a pleasant surprise to have David on your channel.😉 In this debate between Tacomas I would choose the Land Cruiser or 4Runner and pair it with a utility trailer. Today's 4Runner has a better back seat than the new Tacoma and the upcoming Land Cruiser has a huge 2nd row. 🥳🥳What is the point of a 4 door truck with such a cramped rear seat? 🤔

I when to a Ranger in 2020 and where the turbo really shines is at elevation . I live in Wyoming and I drive at lot at altitude and the turbo doesn't turn to crap as elevation increases. I came out of a Taco TRD Off Road and I was shocked at the performance improvement with a turbo.

Great video. I got to say one thing I miss seeing is an engine bay that is "clean" and well designed - I get plastic engine covers are not perfect, but they at least suggest that someone cared about what things look like. I know the ship has sailed, but still, it would be nice to see some care and budget put into the organization of the engine bay.

Two points about your discussion on the trucks. On the Trd pro, you have manually adjustable suspension. You have a setting for off-road and a setting for on road.. also David mentioned that the bedliner was too smooth, but this is the prototype model, and the production model will have a bedliner with grip
@ChrisBrown-co9hr

I agree with David, those seats on the Pro are way overkill and of no use for 90% of the people that buy these trucks. They should make them an option and not standard. I don't like the reduced back seat legroom because of them. Glad to see the Pro grey interior instead of that horrible red. I hope you can get grey or black with a black Pro.

@@ValkenDnB It depends on the trail. Black Bear Pass, Elwood Pass, Hell's Revenge, Poughkeepsie Gulch -- yes. Imogene, Fins & Things, Ophir, Pass -- no. Length is not a factor. I took my Ford F150 XLT with a 6.5 bed Super Cab on the latter trails and it did fine (Fins & Things was definitely the most challenging).

I just can't get over how much these trucks are going for these days. When I was younger in the early 90's you could buy a base Toyota Truck for $7400. $50k-$60k for a mid size 4x4 is freaking ridiculous yet they sell like hot ckaes.....And banks wonder why there are so many Repo's in the USA 🙄

Great to see the TRD Pro with a grey interior instead of the obnoxious red, but I'm still thinking just a regular TRD Off Road is the way to go. That sports bar is something most people are just gonna take off so they can put on a full bed topper of some sort, so it just seems like a waste of money.

I'd be happy just to have an sr5 crewcab long bed. I don't have a lot of places to go off roading to get the trd off road package, so i feel it would be a waste of money. I have been living with a midsized truck for eight year's now, and i have been able to do everything that i needed. Everything i tow is on light side like a boat, camper, and landscape trailer.

I would absolutely get a midsize truck. They have several advantages over the full size in terms of their maneuverability and offroad chops in many cases, and can tow and haul most things the average person will need to tow or haul. That said I do drive a ram 1500 lol 😆

My dad's JL Rubicon with the 2.0 turbo hauls ass despite all the talk of "turbo lag", so i'm familiar with David's description of the power delivery. Even my supercharged & tuned 4.0 V6 Tacoma feels like it has more lag. Aside from sentiments about hybrid engines, I don't think people are gonna miss those slow V6's. Ford, Chrysler and GM have been pushing out reliable applications for a while now so trust in Toyota to shine above them. Only problem is, not many of us are gonna be able to afford them for a while 😂 Can't wait to see the upcoming driving reviews!

However,I sat in one last time shopping for a new truck in 2018 but the seating position with your legs out front rather than below turned me off. Too much like a car feeling. Having to duck your head to enter the new models cab is a deal breaker for me on this one. At 6’, I’ll just keep my 2018 f150 limited for now.
