The sound thing will improve over time but I swear, this false gearing thing is innovative as hell and will revolutionize the electric car market. You'll see, in five years time every electric car will offer the same driving experience. It's a game changer.

I just got mine I have the Kona N and I took it in for service I was looking at it and the same salesman sold me the ioniq I just fell in love with the car and it’s kinda nice to spend gas money anymore since I do drive kinda far to my job

it’s not easy to replicate as you need huge overhead and intricate controls of the regen to do something like this. That’s how you simulate the jerky motion.

This car is almost as fast as BMW M2 CS around Nurburgring, and it can do 2 laps of Nurburgring before it needs recharge/cool down. Not even Taycan can do that. It is an EV super car from an unlikely source, Hyundai.

KZfaqr Ben p raced Nürburgring with three friends on a regular Ionic 5N, and it was said that if you go around four times, the battery will remain 10%. There is no need for cooling, and it can be dehydrated after charging immediately. Ben p charges after 3 laps and goes home after 2 laps.

It makes perfect sense to separate the regen G forces into different torque bands, the digital equivalent of mechanical gearing. And the brain processes feedback quicker with sound. Turn off the sound and you have to feel where the RPM is. The whole setup just makes sense. Straight-line acceleration any EV maker can do and it will get boring. Adding analog controls so you can control and shift your regen G forces is where the future of performance EVs will be.

I'm genuinely surprised how good it looks and how insanely fun it looks to drive. This and the new Dodge Charger definitely seem like the most interesting EVs

I mean if electric is the future, at least let it be this kind and not the boring silent EV type with no character. As a die hard petrolhead, this actually makes sense and I really hope other manufacturers take the same path Hyundai has chosen to take. This changes everything we hate about EV's. There is still the range and weight issue but that's nothing battery technology can't solve.

That's right. I can't believe they have been praising German EVs in terms of mechanical specs while critizing high-spec Korean EVs that are just full of gimmicks. It may be possible if they would've been bribed from German automotive brands.

Although this engine sound or exhaust sound is not real, it is definitely not the sound coming from the speakers inside the car. There are separate speakers at the engine and exhaust locations that actually emit sound from there. So these sounds can be heard from outside. Like a real engine vehicle. Actually, it's hard to say that it's fake at this level. That's because the engine sound and exhaust sound of a car are made like that anyway.

Hate or love Hyundai they are making strides in many departments. They have the only CVT that feels and shifts exactly like a traditional planetary geared automatic, and now this. It’s not perfect but if I had to pick an EV, it would no doubt be this.

Seriously this machine takes ev and puts it to a whole new level. I drive a 24 Kona electric limited and wonder if Hyundai is going to make the Kona electric N since the Kona N has been discontinue sadly. I wouldn’t mind having this though, that simulated engine note and paddle shifting would be addicting for me since I’m a car guy. I love the sound of an engine from a ice car but don’t like what they pollute, so this in an EV is an game changer.

My wife works at a small Hyundai dealership. They just got an orange 5N at $5000 over MSRP. Seriously, how do you justify this? I can buy a slightly used Tesla Plaid for the same money or lower, which will destroy the N. Sure, there will be a few early adopters with more money than brains, but after that??? I'm sorry the fake engine and shifting sounds are like a racing PC game from the 90's. I don't need that. It is an EV, why pretend it is something else. I should add that I am a 1/4 mile racer, so I will be very interested in real world quarter mile times. Lots of new performance EV's around the corner. I would wait on this one.

So, does it do the jerk when you shift? I can only guess that since these are made up gimmicks, that they made it even better than a PDK when it comes to "shift" speed. "Shifts" have to be 'Formula 1' instantaneous.

@@JohnLee-db9zt Brother even the maker of this video states several times that it "drives like every other EV, has standard packages like every other EV, does the fake engine noises like every other EV, interior lighting like every other EV... It's liteterally just another EV, but instead of keeping certain things like a correctly placed shifter or cluster gauges, they opted to go with the HERD MENTALITY of giant ipad screen and a column stock shifter. You're just a random ass hater of Tesla with no logic to back your thought processes, Just thinking what other people online thought for you... hence the random Tesla hate comment...

The second u drive that off the lot it will plummet 15k in value. Do not buy this new. I repeat do not buy this new unless you want to waste 20k on a down-payment to just break even.
