I’ve wanted a 204 Ruger ever since I seen a local farmer shoot his truck gun. Granted I’m sure I can’t run one as well as a Marine sniper, but he is hell on coyotes and prairie dogs with it. Old Marine isn’t running anywhere being older, heavy and crippled up. But he sure hasn’t lost his touch…

I’ve had a couple 204’s since they came out. The Thompson center venture is a tack pounder. And I laugh every time that bullet hits something. Looks like a grenade was in it and lightning fast. Fun caliber

204 Ruger...One of my favorites! Never got my hands on Remington ammo but my Remington 700 VLS likes 32 grain Hornady Superformance Varmint V-max and 32 grain Nosler Varmageddon

Funny how our expatiations have changed. I remember when a 1 inch was great. Now if we are not shooting 1/2 inch we are disappointed. Your gun does like the 40's much better. Great video.

I had a 204 many years ago. It was in the Remington R15. Long story but I traded it for a gun that I gave my dad. I kinda wish I still had it but I think I’d rather have a bolt action

I picked up a H&R Handi rifle in .204 Ruger with a bull barrel about 10 years ago and I love it, but the woodchucks hate it…Mine likes Hornady 32 gr superperformance…

I have the gen2 Ruger 204 it likes the fiocchi 40 grain put 7 shots at a 100 yards the size of a quarter

I have a single shot made by New England firearms..I shoot Hornady 32 grain and 700 yards is nothing for this round. Love the videos. Keep em up

I put a bag rider and an ARCA rail on my Oryx. It is a really good chassis for the $$$. Makes range days mo betta. Lol. Little heavy for carrying around for this old guy though...lol

Just curious on your opinion of the back country's quietness vs the banish 30 or even banish 30 gold. Especially on a zippy round like that one.

If you are concerned about weight get the backcountry. I honestly can't tell much difference in sound between the 2 with just my ears. But the 30 is rated more quiet

I know that you hand load. If you would like to try a load that I use for the 32gr. bullet. I shoot a Savage Model 12 BVSS Hornady Brass and Nosler Brass shooting a 32 Gr. Nosler Ballistic tip. The powder pushing that pill is IMR4198. I'm shooting a 26" barrel at 4086 fps. Not leaning on it very hard. Check it out or contact me to get some inside information on the load. Great Video....!

@@research1586 if you think the Numbers on the box are accurate, then I have ocean front property in Ohio to sell you. Yes longer barrels increase speed, also to long of barrel decreases speed. Most sweet spots are 24" but with a 30 grain bullet, idk if a longer barrel helps or hurts. Imagine a 26" 22LR barrel, it would be horrible performance. So when you say "duh", it's really not that simple. Grain weight of powder, type of powder, and bullet weight, all matter. So it's really not as simple as just adding barrel length to increase speed "duh"
