Use blue painter’s tape instead of those silly targets that aren’t even secured. Rub your finger around the edge of the hole to Mae a mark/target on the tape. Then check the alignment of the tube to the first mirror. Don’t waste your time with testing the 2nd and 3rd mirror until you know the tube is aligned. Then align the other mirrors in order.

It seems like 45 watts is pretty high simply to mark the paper target. I would think you could set the power much lower to produce a smaller dot which would give a better indication of exactly where the laser is hitting.

Hi Roger, i'm using laser cut 5.3 on a laserscript co 2 lc, and it get s no where near your performance but also all the speeds, feeds and power aRE SET IN LASERCUT there is no option to set them on the machine.

@@ARIN4UK I have a 700.. No issues. I wonder what difference is. I have gotten pretty good at adjusting. I have noticed most videos miss many things and make things to complicated or to simple.

Are you only adjusting in the middle of the platen for a reason? I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to align my mirrors for a few weeks a few hours a day and am pulling my hair out. I go to the farthest position and fire and it hits the middle. I then move back to the closest position and fire a test and it is then to the left by 10mm, almost at the edge of the mirror. I have tried moving the laser and the mirrors to correct this but it just moves in equal adjustments as far as my closest to furthest test fires. The dot stays on the center line but spaced apart. Not sure what to do about this. Any suggestions?

thank you, very help full. vid,. I have 1 question i still cant seem to fix my Laser. on my first mirror when i test the alignment the burn mark on the paper is more a ring with a unaffected spot in the center and not a solid dot . any idea what could cause this. Grateful if you could help

It would indicate that your laser tube needs replacing, unfortunately, this is a classic example of a bad (DYING) laser tube. A laser is a gaussian shape.

The sight LED is on an angle and not aligned with the laser's beam.

This procedure won't work if the tube is not square to the laser head rail. so how do you square up the laser tube.

I'm wondering if there's an alternative method that doesn't require so much fiddling with pieces of paper. Would it be possible to put a smartphone on the cutting bed with the face camera directly under the laser nozzle, pointing up into the nozzle and be able to adjust the mirrors in reverse order? So, I put a target over mirror 2, then adjust mirror three until I see that target on my 'phone, then move the target to mirror 1 and adjust mirror 2, again until I see the target on my 'phone. Finally, shoot the mirror 1 target (after removing the 'phone) to align the laser. This method, if it works, would allow the user to watch the alignment happening in real time, rather than taking laser pot shots to see how the process is progressing. I don't have a laser cutter, so I can't try this. Is it a workable method? EDIT: I should also say, it would probably be necessary to remove the objective lens from the laser head to do this.

SO, What if your laser tube is not square to the first mirror ???

You would use a parallelogram calculus between the gantry the laser tube and the Y axis!!!
