An insightful interview; thanks to High Resolution and Judy Wert. Judy emphasised the importance of the 'human stories' behind UX designers. Arguably, people who make an informed choice to transition to UXD from another career are likely to be older and have richer stories to tell. Does Judy have any advice for older UXD converts who are looking for their first job in a predominantly young job-market?

loved this episode, Judy's personality is amazing, the way she speaks (tone, choice of words, expression) is something I find inspiring (Idk if it's the right word), but that's what I want to achieve. Thanks a lot, Bobby & Jared for making this insightful episode, for putting in the work, you guys are amazing, I do dream to be in that place where I can have this kind of awesome conversation that just blows your mind. Much love and respect for you guys and the design community. Have a good day.

Enjoy Judy's episode! If you've ever been curious about how the best recruiters think, this one is definitely for you. Judy has worked with the best designers (believe us, we've seen her roster, they're a lot of the best designers you probably look up to) for 25 years. If you have any questions or feedback, we're here for you!

Thanks again, Hi Res, for this insightful session with Judy. It is important to be aware that recruiting/staffing also involve some processes (human-centric).

I don't have the opportunity to sit this one out for the coming weeks. Anyone wants to do a summary here? I'm interested in seeing how design changed for them in the years and what for her is a top percentile designer. Many thanks in advance!

Like many of these "High Resolution" interviews I found this one frustrating. The subject, Judy Wert, was fascinating to listen to. Hearing about her experience and POV on the industry was invaluable. You can also sense that she's constantly looking at "what's next" and embodies a growth mindset. I found it inspirational. I wish the interviewers had done a better job of making it more of a conversation rather than an interview. I suggest they study other accomplished interviewers like Alec Baldwin on "Here's the Thing", Michael Ian Black on "How to be Amazing" or Dan Harris on "10 Percent Happier" (all podcasts). These people do an exceptional job of turning an interview into a conversation that can go places neither party (or the listener!) expected them to go.

Sorry you felt this way Nick :/ the loose conversation format isn't really what we're going for. We have a pretty clear agenda for the hour we spend with our guests and prefer to stay in the lanes we think will add the most value for most people. Completely understand where you're coming from though. Listening to a conversation that could take a turn at any point is an exhilarating experience for the listener and we know that we don't meet that bar. We will add that we are first-time podcast interviewers and doing it on camera is an added pressure. We will get better and loosen up with time though! Stick with us! Thank you for showing your support.

High Resolution I'd play around with incorporating more open-ended questions with a direct focus to help strike a better balance between interview and unscripted dialogue. Many questions could have been answered with a simple yes/no response and incorporated a strong interviewer bias. It's a hard balance to strike when you want to share your thoughts and give Judy room to share as well. One example at 21:00: "You treated me like a friend and I knew you were cut from a different cloth ... Does the personality that you have make people want to open up to you?" - I wonder how the conversation would change with a reframe of the question to "How does your individual personality play a role in the openness/success of a conversation?" or "What makes someone open up to you?". Fun and inspiring to watch your videos. Thanks!
