In this video I had an idea for a floating bloom that I wanted to execute on purpose this time 🤪. I hope this video is helpful and inspiring for you and you enjoy watching this half as much as I enjoyed creating it!

PM to Paint measurement (ESTIMATE!):
1.5oz (45ml) PM to between 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) to a 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) paint to start. If too thin add a little more paint (or even a gel gloss), if too thick add a little more PM to thin more or even more of your varnish or other acrylic extender/thinner).

This one is absolutely gorgeous!!! Jody your techniques always amaze me. You have such a "no holds barred" way of changing things up. Most people in this genre of paint pouring use a couple of different techniques, i.e. blooms, swipes, and dutch pours, but the only differences you really find in their paintings are the colour choices. I love that every bloom, swipe, or transfer you do has a unique quality to it. Not just color changes but tweaks here and there to your technique, your placement, your backgrounds, every painting you do really has a life of its own. You are by far my favourite paint-pouring artist as well as instructor I have found. I have been watching all sorts of different painters over the last couple of years, and as I said in a post on another video you had posted, you are the first person to have given me the courage as well as the inspiration to give it a go. Thank you for sharing your instinctual and inspirational talent with all of us! 🥰🧡💥💚👍

My favorite orientation is the 2nd way with the heavy paint on the bottom. (Could be my OCD weighing in.) That black and gold in the middle is killer. Great shimmer. And the background gold swipe is perfect. It's a lovely piece. You've done it again, my friend. 🤗💜❤💜❤

Nice piece Jodie! I'm definitely of the vertical orientation camp, bloom puddle at the bottom. Really nice pallet. Also did you get some of the pink on your nose, or is that suntan remaining from your vacation :)

Hey Jodi, I’m not looking forward to our summer, it’s freezing in my studio now but will be extremely hot in a few months. Then I’ll have to learn what temperature does to paints.😩thanks for this beautiful bloom. ❤️ how do you hang them flat on the wall.

Oh I totally can relate to the changing of the weather, I battle thin paints in summer and thick paints in winter but I think I’m getting the hang of it now .. I think 🤔. You can use those sawtooth combs or some hanging wire to hang your canvases 🤗💜

Will American Floetrol work as a pouring medium or do you have to use your pouring medium to work?

It can but you won’t get the same results as with house paint, it’s a different makeup. I did a video series using US floetrol for all components if you want to check them out (videos 188, 190, 192 & 194) 🤗
