Hi Gittemary! The huge "measuring cup" is actually a beaker! It is used in research labs to help contain chemical liquids of all sorts and assist on making solutions. They are made of a special glass, as well as all labware, that withstands huge temperatures. I don't recomend putting food on it because labware is used with all sorts of chemicals and, at the lab, we need to use special contamination cleaning techniques. Just wanted to warn you! I'm from Portugal btw, and I'm a environmental biotechnology researcher - I'm working on developing a solution based on plants and bacteria to remove metals and pharmaceuticals from the environment. Love your channel!

Denmark is a free country and you’re a grown woman, so you can swear to your heart’s content if that’s what makes you happy. The only part that kind of stinks is that I’d like to show your content to my kids so they can learn about sustainability from a pro! But I never know when you might drop a big fat f-bomb.. oopsie

I'm from Germany where we also have the deposit return scheme for glass, bottles, cans which is great. I've been living in Scotland for over 7 years and they want to start implementing that as well. But it seems as if it's being skipped cause too much effort and money that needs to be put into by stores and pubs or whatnot 🙄 Yessss, I think that a f*** impact video is so necessary!!

Hi from Australia. We have a Return & Earn system here for cans, most plastic bottles & some glass bottles. I often use the money generated (10 cents per item) to pay for my thrift shop finds. Thanks for your video - it’s always an inspiration. 😍

Girl use some type of paste next time your hanging your picture! Put a dot on the back of the picture where you hang it and then set it on the wall. The paste will go on the wall where you’re supposed to put your nail after you put your mail. Wipe the paste right off. And know exactly where your hooks are supposed to go!

We have a really similar deposit system for cans and bottles in Germany, too. So it was really interesting to see how the sign on bottles and cans in Denmark differes to the german one that is more rectangular :) And I totally get you feeling not so good about thr world news. Sometimes it feels as if everything is just getting worse. But then there are also people like you who are advocating for important topics and inspire others to make the world a little better every day - even if it is just through sharing your basil plant with a caterpillar and sharing that wholesome moment on the internet ;) Thank you for that!

Dear Gittemary! In many Videos you talk about not recycable paperproducts. Sometimes I think you are just wrong. 30 years ago I started my apprenticeship in a paperfactory and we recycled newspapers and magazines. To make new newspaper and magazines. Fat contamination or attached give-aways are causing no problems in the process. There are so many facts about paper and recycling, that I would love, if you had the time to dive deeper in this topic. Please get in contact with one of the big companies. I am sure, everybody would love to answer your questions and I am pretty sure you will be invited to a factory to see everything by yourself. Papermakers and paper technologists are really proud of their profession and we love to share our knowledge. Best wishes Judith

Watched your video then got thinking about my garden and watched a video on making indigenous microorganisms. They were using your exact measuring vessel in the video. 😄 We also have the bottle and can recycling here in my state since 1976 with a deposit paid upfront. 90% of cans/bottles are recycled because of it.

Loved this realistic look at living zero waste 💪 Random question but I really need your advice Gittemary 🙏 Is a reusable cotton advent calendar more sustainable than a plastic/card chocolate calendar that you buy each year for the holidays? 🎄 We would use the cotton one every year & it would support a small business that hand makes them. But its not like a T-shirt we can wear year round, it would just be used for one month each year. I know cotton requires extensive work to produce 🤔 Help much appreciated!
