Welcome to Shashamane, Ethiopia, where the spirit of Rastafari thrives among a vibrant community of repatriated Rastafarians. Join me on a 24-hour journey deep into the heart of this unique cultural haven, where we'll immerse ourselves in the rhythm of daily life, spiritual rituals, and communal living.
From sunrise to sunset, we'll witness the beauty and resilience of the Rastafari way of life. Experience the warmth of their hospitality as we share meals, stories, and laughter with members of the community. Explore the lush landscapes of Shashamane as we visit the hill camps where Rastafarians have established their homes, surrounded by the natural beauty of Ethiopia.
Throughout our day together, we'll engage in meaningful conversations with elders, learn about the principles of Rastafari, and participate in sacred ceremonies that celebrate the divine presence of Jah. Get ready to be inspired by the spirit of unity, love, and empowerment that permeates every aspect of life in Shashamane.
Join me on this unforgettable journey as we gain a deeper understanding of the Rastafari faith, culture, and way of life. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to my channel for more immersive cultural experiences from around the world. Let's embark on this enlightening adventure together!
Special shout out to @ChrisMustList for the additional video from the boboshanti in Jamaica. Kindly check him out and show some love

The Shashemane land grant was not only for Rastafari people, but really for any of the slave trade diaspora, especially those who had supported Ethiopia against the Italian occupation. It is associated with the Rastafari because they were most enthusiastic in response to the land grant, and their veneration of Emperor Selassie

The whole of Africa was once Ethiopia and is the Promised Land. 2. H.I.M. Haile Selassie I was not born in the Shashamene area but 18 miles outside of Harar, Ejersa Goro to be precise. Great content, bro! I was disappointed though with the very first rasta you met, the one who was asking for money to see his children, or something like that. He came across more like a rascal than a rasta. Begging should be below rastafarianism and self-determination at its core. Fortunately, he appeared to be the only one of his type.

Soon mash up the place with that mentality. He should have stayed his behind wherever he came from and leave it to the people who genuinely wanted to be there to make a difference back where they called home 🏠. He’s a phony and a disgrace. I hope he didn’t robbed anyone at gun point and ran away to sheshamane😀😀😀😀😀

The Ras name is Charles Reuben. We were at his repatriation party at the 12 tribes HQ in London UK 16 years ago. This is a sad sight to see. Thank you my brother for giving him something. Thanks for noticing that. A few "Rastas" there are a disgrace to the community, and to the whole movement. On my visits there I noticed that a few times. TRUE Rasta movement is about self-reliance, and independence. After being there over 16 years, couldn't he set an independent foundation for himself😳? I don't think he is from Jamaica. No REAL Jamaican Rastas are like that. He needs to TRIM!...and STOP calling himself Jamaican!

Hailey Selassie was a Christian and when he found out there were people in Jamaica worshipping him he sent money to Jamaica to build some Ethiopian Orthodox churches because he wanted them to know the truth. Jesus Christ had said no one should believe any christs who will come after him because his return will be in the clouds for all the world to see. There will be no questions then of who He is

His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I sent Archbishop Yesehaq who became Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the Western Hemisphere to baptise Rastafari in Jamaica and the West. He baptised over 45000 including Bob Marley and his family. He is buried in Jamaica

In Kenya, we the Kikuyus belong to Central Kenya but we don’t keep talking nonsense about land belonging to us the Kikuyus. It’s sounds very disgusting for you to keep talking about Oromo land belonging to Oromos. You are all Ethiopians and the land belongs to everyone born in Ethiopia.
