Creating wealth entails establishing positive routines, such as consistently setting aside funds at regular intervals for sound investments. Financial management is a vital subject that many avoid, often leading to future regrets.

Indeed, currently I'm managing my finances wisely and being frugal. In the last 19 months, my investments grew by 43%, adding over $150K in profits. However, I've had losses in the past month, making me anxious. I'm unsure whether to sell everything or wait.

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.

I have had to put lists up of things I can no longer eat and drink after having baby #4. All the things give me really bad indigestion/heart burn and then hot flushes. No it’s not menopause, it’s every time I eat said food or drink. It bloody sucks but it’s been 6 months since bubs was born and yet I haven’t got drilled into my head. 3 other kids and a husband that I still eat and drink the things, it’s hard. I will get there. Omg yes. I gave away so many last year and they still keep giving them. They’re harder to get rid of when they’re monogrammed. I live alone. I don’t need 200 cups and mugs. I wouldn’t mind just not getting anything at all. I can’t get rid of things fast enough. Living in a small space I don’t have the room for all this stuff. The nice things I get don’t even fit my lifestyle. I wouldn’t mind getting useful things I could use like gift cards to places where I can buy food or fuel.

Oh my goodness. I was replaced and divorced with my 4 children & also 2 of my older sisters children for over 20 years and had to learn to be extremely frugal but afford the children some luxury things and for their school and activities so a Budget was necessary. We used the Library and free events big time and I still do. I remarried 10 years ago and he was a tough one to get on board with the program but has for the most part. I am the one that creates and runs the budget and to do or to buy lists. I am into a Deep Spring Cleaning and Simplifying our Lifestyle month through February. I am getting my Plants ready for Spring and only growing what will help our budget, what I can sell, and what I can swap. We love building puzzles so I am in a Puzzle Swap Group that I swap our puzzles out each month and the meet is always within 20 minutes drive. I do create and do Savings Challenges each year. I am busy minimizing all the Holidays and special days and Seasons Decor. It truly is more enjoyable having less. It's true Less is More. We have 4 coats and jackets, Blue Jean Jacket, all weather jacket, Winter Jacket, Dress Jacket, oh and a black or gray sweater. We have an umbrella in each car and two hang on hooks by the door. We have a cane in each car, one with my husband, and one on a hook by the front door. We have gardening gloves, work gloves, cleaning gloves, and winter gloves. It's being organized with what is needed only and we are loving it.

I love this. I am almost as good as you. Not quite as good. I am 72 years old. Own my house, no mortgage, husband passed away five years ago. I have two retirements, lots of investments. I could easily buy a huge multi million dollar home. I bought a 1700 sq foot new home in a new development. Paid cash for it. No mortgage, taxes are much lower than a huge house. I love it. Great neighbors. My sister stays here a couple days a week. Don’t have cable. Have a Samsung tv and it is more than good enough. KZfaq has been a great addition in my life. I used to go to the grocery store four times a month. Spent a hundred dollars every time I went. Last year I went to the grocery every ten days (3 times a month). I still spent 100 dollars each time. I had my shopping list and everything. So I saved 100 dollars every month. Over a thousand dollars each year in savings. My car is 10 years old. It’s a Honda CRV that I bought 8 years ago. It was two years old when I bought it. I love saving my money. It is sort of rubbing off on my sister. Great video! You inspire me.

I'm totally with you on gifts. People are shocked when they ask if I'm done Christmas shopping, and I say "I haven't done any yet" and they get all panicky for me, and I'm like, "I'm not buying anything anyway". THOUSANDS of dollars saved. I used to buy crap for everyone, and I received lots of crap in return. It's so sad when current media reports how billions of dollars of products are returned after Christmas and they show all the ways to pay down your credit card after Jan 1. Just stop the insanity, keep all that crap out of the landfills and use your money as you mentioned: experiences and togetherness are the way to go.

Skipping clutter-creating gifts is a great idea. It really works for us, and makes gift-giving less stressful, besides. My partner and I have normalized consumable and practical gifts between us for birthdays and Christmas for years, and I love it. Most of the gifts we exchange are "food or drink I know you like that you don't get often" or "replacement for that beloved item (usually clothing) that has been used to death." Inexpensive, non-cluttering expressions of love. Christmas 2022 was a bit of an odd one. By the last quarter of the year, we were both looking at replacing computers, after putting it off too long, so we made our individual choices, bought for ourselves during November's Black Friday/pre-Black Friday sales cycles, and called them our Christmas gifts. This Christmas (2023) was more normal. We replaced a couple of inexpensive kitchen items that have been loved into terrible condition by one or the other of us, and then each bought a gift bag full of rarely-purchased-but-much-enjoyed snacks for each other on sneaky solo shopping trips.

I buy the large, cheap and glass encased candles from dollar tree that are unscented, melt them down, and add some of my fav essential oil. i even love cutting an orange in half, eating the fruit, and using the half sizes to house the wax because it's a very light aroma but natural. one candle for $1.25 can easily create 2 candles. love it! i can't handle synthetic fragrances either and i don't know how some ppl use those items everywhere.

So you pour wax into the orange peel? How does the peel hold up when it’s burning? I like this idea, so long as the wax is clean and doesn’t have a lot of chemicals.
@Onfleekforcheap

@@BulldogLady347 you could buy beeswax or soy was and the wicks, if u prefer. After I clean out the orange from the fruit, I usually dry it for a day or 2 in the window where light will hit it. Or, I’ll use my dehumidifier but I know not a lot of ppl have one of those. They have always held up just fine for me.

After watching number of your videos over the years, I've realized I grew up in a very frugal home (out of necessity). Many of the things you list here and other places we never had growing up. It just reinforces that there are so many things we don't NEED and yet still buy. Loved this list and the reminder. Those candles were pretty useful when our power went out Christmas week. We used up 5 candles. I like dryer sheets and dryer balls to combat static, but I get them at the discount grocery store for $1 a box. Otherwise all your list was what we already mostly do already. I cleaned out my closet and found 4 pairs of new running shoes in the boxes. I volunteer at a thrift shop so it is very tempting to bring home treasures. Got a perfect Bean jacket last week! Laughed when you said jackets.

I use a steno pad. I started working for a textbook company after I left teaching in 2012. My home became my office when I wasn’t traveling for them The planners just weren’t working for me. Though so wanted to have cute planner that was both efficient and comprehensive. I was having a lot of fun trying to embrace them, but it just wasn’t happening. I realized I needed something simple and visual to help me plan my life so I decided to take the left side of the steno page and make it my home life and the right side of the page and make it my work life. I also volunteered for a project at church so I divided the work side into two parts. I didn’t use it for a Calendar. I use my phone for that.

Flour, pasta, grains tip: After you buy one of these things, put them in the freezer for at least 24 hours (I wrap my bag of flour in a plastic grocery bag and put the pasta in a Baggie if it comes in a box). Freezing it for 24+ hours will kill the bug eggs and then you can store this stuff for as long as you want.

If I want to watch TV, I watch whatever is on the free channels or watch DVD or VHS. I'd rather spend my money on paying off debts and or cook special dinner (steak , baked potatoes or homemade wet burritos) or eat out once every couple months. It's a trade off of what's more important watching the lastest mini series or watching the hubby smile because he smells the dinner when he walks through the door. Have a wonderful 2024🎉

Soda has not been in my house for at least 10 years. I've replaced it with Iced Tea mix; I probably make it twice a week. Buying clothing on sale is hit-or-miss with me. I would prefer to save money, but by the time something is on sale ALL of my sizes are gone. I've streamlined and now I have a minimalist wardrobe; clothing items that I've purchased at full price but they are the right fit and I always wear them. It took me a while, but I have all my seasons covered and I don't have to purchase new clothing for a long time.

I actually started implementing almost every one of these no-buys (some temporarily, for obvious reasons, because things wear out) years ago out of necessity and now at age 59, I will probably not go back. I'm a sewist, so yes, I make seasonal pillow covers, etc, but it's about what works/doesn't work for you. I'm okay with those things, as are my adult kids. I just learned a long time ago that everyone has different things that work or don't work for them, the key is to stop what doesn't, use what you have and be more practical. I basically buy almost all of my clothing on clearance or at least very good sales, and I decided that for items such as books and things to watch, the library and internet provide them free, or a better way of looking at online stuff is, you're probably already paying enough for the internet or phone service, USE it!

I replaced dish towels, bath towels with plain white towels that can be bleached when they get dingy. Replacing these cost money on the front side but has saved a lot of money on the backside. Good list! We desperately need to declutter, but hate to throw away things somebody else could use. Once I finish decluttering, I would like to get a small collection of stuff like seasonal towels, throw pillow covers, pictures, and knickknacks. Yes, the towels and pillows will be used. Since you pointed out that seasonal stuff does not always work as well, maybe I will just choose a few bold colors to go with each season. The goal is to eventually have a nice collection of seasonal decor that fits in a box in my closet. One box per season, Christmas gets an extra box for the tree and an extra box for sentimental ornaments.

Ask your grandkids or kids what they got last year for Xmas or there birthday - they will not remember BUT they will remember the trip to Major League Baseball stadium or the special water rafting trip or the trip to the planetarium and where we went to eat that special day. When my grandkids were smaller I gave them magazine subscriptions, and had them delivered to my house. So every time at least once a month when they came over they had a present. it was always the first thing they asked for. “ has my present come”. If I knew they were coming / I put it back in the mailbox. They still talk about those treats and it wasn’t food…. 👵🏻
