What is mind boggling is surviving it and what is also what you find when you come out of that nightmare box.. There are some things (IMO) worth than death.. And, I firmly also believe, some people shouldn't ever see a courtroom for this.. The word Justice is garbage when you torture people's minds and bodies, oh, and SOUL.. I cannot stand anyone (including a few past friends of mine) who think these people should be given passes for the horrors they inflict on others.. I say this in part because of a horrendous "explosion I suffered" now 14 years ago when I got blown up out of the blue (not in war), and there was nothing more than I wanted than to DIE.. But, I couldn't.. Think Metallica's video, "One".. I was in pain like nothing I hope most (I mean that = MOST, not all) will ever experience.. I've been banged up before and I knew what I thought was pain before.. However, when you cannot see any light at the end of the tunnel, and while I am a Christian who never thought of killing myself before, even shot and in bad places.. I doubt the things I went through were ANYTHING close to 24 months of absolute insanity.. I mean that.. YOU DO NOT know what you are made of until it is just you, in a box.. Helpless.. That box can mean a lot of different things to each person. NOBODY put me in my nightmare and all the surgeries.. That last one was actually an "accident".. However, being LOST in a world you don't understand.. Pain absolutely is physically.. But, it is even more acute in the mind.. 24 fkn years..

@@frisk151 Yeah, I'm also reminded of another case similar to this, except it was in Victorian times. Her name was Blanche Monnier, her mom kept her locked away up in the attic for almost thirty years, well 25 years actually. Blanche's mother's logic was because her daughter was going to marry some man she disapproved of greatly. The woman, Blanche, I believe she ended up dying in a lunatic asylum. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blanche_Monnier#:~:text="Blanche%20Monnier%20was%20imprisoned%20in,a%20Nightmare%3A%20Blanche%20Monnier".

I know a lot of people don't believe that Rosemary had no idea what was going on because, well how could she not?? But really, even if there were odd things she noticed, the occasional strange noise, things that didn't make much sense, who in a million years would ever think their spouse dug a dungeon under the house and kept a sex slave and an entire second family down there? If you saw this plot in a movie, and didn't know it was a real story, you would think it was totally unbelievable. It's not even like this was just a basement that she was never allowed to go in - it was a completely separate place. This one really makes my stomach churn. It's so disgusting, I don't know how you live a normal life after something like this. I hope Elizabeth and her kids are all safe and as happy as they can be.

I grew up in Austria and I vividly remember, when the news broke out. I was 13 at that time and everything that happened, it was horrifying. In High School, I took the class psychology intensive, and we looked into the case from a forensic psychology perspective, how someone can do something like this to their own child. Horrifying and sickening are the two words that describes him the best. I live in Vienna now, so to hear that he is now transferred to a normal prison, it is not great news. Especially, because there is a prison in my district, which is also near where I live, and I hope that he is not going to be transferred there. I know that he won't be able to go out, but still, the thought of one of the most prolific criminal in Austria living in a prison near my apartment is not great.

When I first heard of this story I knew there had to be a history. Fritzl was a predator almost from day one and his crimes were enabled by his employers, neighbors, social services, the police, and his wife.
@AfterAFashionASMR
@AfterAFashionASMR Ай бұрын
One thing not mentioned in this video is that Fritzl actually imprisoned his own mother in the attic of their house prior to what he did to Elizabeth. He supposedly bricked up the windows of the attic and left her there like he did with his daughter until she died. According to things I’ve read about this case, authorities think his mother may have been imprisoned for up to 20 years as well. This man was horrific beyond words.

The mom knew what was going on. Why else would you allow your husband to disappear to the basement (beyond ear shot) for multiple hours per day/night, for multiple years at a time without question? If I disappear in my home (without a trace) my wife gets worried and will search for me, if I was escaping to a secret underground cellar in my basement my wife would definitely know about it.

I believe he said he was working on engineering or architect plans… so he wasn’t just gone but “working” and he wasn’t to be bothered… only works if your wife is terrified of making you angry, probably a relief for the wife when he would go down there tbh…

He's an engineer who was known for working on projects as a kid. Isn't that surprising that the wife didn't question it, like if my partner was doing a pet project I wouldn't think twice if they went to go work on it. (Not to mention the bunker was hidden behind bookshelfs, so like unless she watched him go into the bunker she wouldn't be aware where he was and couldn't find him if she wanted to

'Due to tensions between Elizabeth & her mother..'. Really? Your daughter was locked up, tortured, beaten, & raped right under your feet for 24 years and there is 'tension' between the two of you? I have no idea what that situation would be like & don't pretend that it would be easy. Unless 100% of the issues were coming from Elizabeth & it just got to be too much -would this make sense. Seems Elizabeth deserves a very sizable amount of grace for any personality and/or mental issues that would contribute to the 'tension'. She is probably better off getting her & her kids the hell away from that place.

Thanks for the in depth (J)Giles. I heard when she was in the hospital she revealed to the dr.s that her dad had imprisoned her. Didn't know it took for the police to make the possible threat of taking away her children for her to cooperate. It actually makes more sense bc her other children were still in dungeon & she may worry he would do something to them. This was the most in depth research I've heard on this case.

I hope all the children that were the result of a sick man forcing himself on his poor daughter repeatedly all grow up knowing how they were conceived was not their fault, nor it was something they had control over. The conception was something merely biological and it doesn’t designate them or their worth in society.

Are there any other Monsters that put as much work into their crimes as Fritzl? The guy built a whole bunker and then had to keep them all alive, supply all their necessities, while keeping it a secret, for decades. Sounds like a ton of work. I know people that can't even care for a cat.

I had narcissistic parents and there's definitely a running theme in the estranged kids of whack jobs community, where children are deemed the parents' property. They, therefore, manipulate and sabotage their kids into becoming dependent adults, so they never leave. Things like financial abuse, failure to teach basic life skills, etc. It's metaphorical chains, normally, where fear, obligation and guilt keep the kid from leaving. Old Josef just turned all that up to 11. I noped the eff out of the family home at 17, but it wasn't until my 40's that I emotionally noped out and cut my parents off. Absolutely guaranteed, there's a lot of people in Elizabeth's situation right now. Look at the recent Turpin case, for example. And of course, Ruby Franke.

I don’t think I could’ve survived it! She was so brave and I think the only reason she did survive was bc of her children. I really think some women in her situation might’ve hated the children bc of the constant abuse so that also shows what a loving person she was. Thank God he was finally caught & prosecuted & I hope he rotted in prison for many years! But even after he was put in prison I bet it didn’t come close to the prison she was in!
