The only criticism I have of this truly amazing scene is that Dany tells Drogon to fly. In the book she climbs on his back to dislodge a spear, and he choses to fly her away from danger. Dany telling Drogon to fly is out of character, as I think she would never chose to abandon her friends and allies in harms way, least of all Missandie.
@A203D Жыл бұрын
Yes, true, but at this point the battle was over. She was leaving after the bad guys had mostly been killed. It felt to me very natural she would want some respite so decided to fly away with Drogon.

I always imagined her taking back the Iron Throne and making right with how everyone was ruled. She seemed to be headed down the path of wanting to help the world.. not watch it burn. Really terrible vision for how all this ended. So many characters were done dirty.
@TheFourthDefender7 ай бұрын
@@tj7094 This is America after all, and the prime function of american cinema is propaganda. The characters that seek to advance the cause of equity and societal change always end up being portrayed as two-faced genocidal sociopaths that must be neutralized by any means necessary (and with the aid of the US army whenever the setting allows for it). This trope has become a staple of pop culture and mainstream cinema, if you look closely it's everywhere (looking at you MCU), and it is often delivered in this way: at first the social warrior character is very endearing and makes a lot of sense, the viewer is rallied to their benevolent cause, and then the social warrior just snaps and starts murdering a bunch of innocent people out of nowhere (often for reasons that don't even make sense plot-wise). General shock and disbelief ensue, the other protagonists leave their differences aside and assemble as a team to defeat the polarizing villain (often including historic companions or former trusted lieutenants of the antagonist, to really highlight how unilaterally evil he or she has become); ultimately the wannabe-tyrant is defeated, everyone magically forgets about the noble cause that initially propelled the whole plot because, you know, whatevs, and all things go back to the way they were ; fade out, roll credits to Hans Zimmerlike music theme, and see you again on the next adventure that will play out in exactly the same way. The underlying goal of all this is to plant a very precise, carefully crafted image in the subconscious minds of the masses: "Trying to better this world will always make things worse than they were to begin with; any leader who promises you profound societal change is not to be trusted, they must necessarily be a delusional idealist that will inevitably prove to be dangerously insane and betray you in the end, causing a lot of innocent deaths in the process that could be easily avoided if yall would just shut yer mouths, do as you're told, and not try to improve anything." Peak anti-socialist brainwashing to the rescue of the status quo

Well they were babies throughout the entire series. Even at the very end, when they were at their biggest, they were still babies. In the ASOIAF universe dragons continue to grow forever. Balerion, the dragon who forged the Iron Throne and the dragon Aegon the Conqueror rode when he took over Westeros, died when he was about 200 years old and was WAY bigger that ever season 8’s version of Drogon. I’m going full on nerd here, but I can’t remember if it’s ever mentioned in any of the reading material if the scales of dragons harden as they age, but you’re right…in Game of Thrones they’re not invincible. They can be injured and killed. But once they’re fully grown they’re pretty much invincible. One, Meraxes, was killed down in Dorne, but that was only because they got lucky and just happened to shoot a scorpion arrow through her eye.

@Whoopdido7772 жыл бұрын
@@kerrysmith1899 Umm. It might be in Fire and Blood. I have it, but have only just started it. I got that information from “The World of Ice and Fire”. It’s a huge book, but really cool too because it has a lot of great pictures in it. It details the entire history of the ASOIAF universe going all the way back to the children of the forest and the arrival of the first men, Targaryen history and I believe ends with Robert’s Rebellion because we know everything that happens after that because of the 5 books he wrote and, of course the series. It also details each House and gives a history about each one. Like it talks about the Rains of Castamere, for example and what exactly happened. If you haven’t read it, I suggest it. It can be a bit of a slog at times because it reads like a textbook, but there’s a lot of interesting information. I think it’s similar to Fire and Blood because that reads like a textbook too. Both of those books are basically meant to just be supplemental history books.

Watch the show my dude. She's the mother of dragons. Dragons on GOT are violent, frankly vindictive overgrown children (These are fairly young dragons in the scheme of things, we dont see older ones so maybe the are a bit more even tempered, but these ones will happily roam the countryside terrorising people and lighting villages on fire , left to their own devices. Something thats generally not something one wants to do on this show.), but they are bound to her, and historically to her family line, and she literally walked out of the fire with them. Shes magically bound to them as their mother.

@LEO GAMING Ok great idea.... But One friendly advice brother... If you are going to watch GOT... then just watch it till season 7 & then stop & imagine it ended there.... Don't watch the 8th season. You'll regret it if you watch it.

It’s Emilia Clarke’s Birthday today and she said in a video interview this scene was shot on her birthday as well. The first time she rode Drogon was on her real life birthday.

Because of their bond . Because she was the one who raise him . This give the impression of the saying or sayings of "I'm coming Mama !!!!" , "Don't you touch my mama !!!!" and "Stay away from my mom !!!!" in general .

I’m here. I just love how there was no need for drogon to hurl that fire into that air as he arrived aside from to flex. The MVP of GOT
