I bought my Hakim in 1990 for 129.95...what a sweet shooting rifle! VERY accurate...never malfunctions...if I ever get a chance to buy one...please don't let it get away!

The "Handle" as you called it, is a deflection bar. Next time you shoot it, go collect the brass and take a look. When the Hakim ejects the brass, the casing hits that bar and deflects the brass out to the side. It leaves a massive dent in the brass.

I bought a 7mm Mouser with a scope at a pawn shop plastered in nasty sticky Camo tape for $50 I think it was then took it home, cleaned it up and sold it for about $250. At that time the ammo was way too expensive for me.

Mine jams and dents the brass now. Never tried to adjust the gas as I dont have the tool. Not sure whats going on, had great ammo. Good vid, I think the clip is banned in Canada now.

I managed to grab one of these for 700. Ive gotten really lucky on gun broker. Most of these rifles have been going for around 1200 dollars and higher.

It's clear that the Hakim is one of the major inspirations for the AR-10 and AR-15. The gas engages the bolt directly and not through a piston or a blowback system.

Excellent video my friend! I wish you had broken the gun down a bit more though. Is the firing pin spring or floating, like the SKS? I imagine it MUST be mechanical Ejected and not plunger ejected. What are the parts that tend to wear out the fastest, and can you buy them at Numrich? Can you adjust the gas system without THAT tool or could you use something else? Or would you have to buy one or fabricate one? I have seen some videos on people who own these guns and it is really fun to watch. They REALLY don't like getting gassed in the face by the 8mm! It is like culture shock to them, because they thought the AR was a bit gassy,...lol! Thanks man, you are an wealth of knowledge. And you seem like a really good guy.

Great review and a beautiful rifle. It says 30 sh 10 on the stock. I don't know what that indicates. In the rear sight it just has numbers 1 through 10. By the way Hakeem means wise in Arabic. I'm guessing it's because a wise man is one who bears arms... What's also worth noting is that they made a trainer version of this rifle which is an air rifle that shoots pellets. Tom Gaylord, a well known gentleman in the airgun industry, has a few reviews on the Hakeem air rifle trainer.

I only paid $175. For mine 16 years ago . It's got no recoil with hot amo. I love the rifle.
