So nice to find this video. Thank you for making it. My wife and I owned 5 acres where 2N02 starts near Rattlesnake Canyon. I spent countless hours up in those mountains hiking and driving on those old mining roads. There's some amazing hidden gems up there.

Great video. Like how you point out all there is to see - past & present. My wife and I drove up to Apple Valley from Carlsbad yesterday to run the AV to Big Bear as our first trail with my new '22 2dr Badlands. The weather was perfect and there were some others enjoying it as well. We stopped at Coxey Meadow and took a look around at the ponds and cattle pen area. Stopped in Big Bear for late lunch - had to get our favorite Ribs. I'm looking forward to coming out in early spring to run the Pioneertown to Big Bear trail using 2N02. Thanks again!

Going through the Joshua trees, entering the tree lines all beautiful, but my go to spot is a real nice open area on the trail about midpoint of the trail, off to the left of the trail there’s a mine with a flat open area to set up, cook lunch, open up a folding chair and enjoy the wide open views amongs the mountains 34.249, -116.706. You actually highlight it at minute 13:24

Nice video! This route is currently under attack by several of the (NEW) local residents with money. You know, the ones who move in & want to claim the area as their community, saying the road is private. It IS NOT a private road! The beginning is Burns Canyon Rd (BLM RC1430) and is a GREEN STICKER ROUTE! till it hits US Forest (2N02) This was a wagon road in the 1800s from Big Bear to Rose Mine & on to Warren's well (yucca valley) The recent storms have caused some rocks to block 2N02 and the ass's that are wanting to close it are useing this as firepower. Any jeep clubs/ offroaders that have a decent rig & means to winch need to get up & help clear the way IF you want to keep this route? Its a beautiful day trip & camping area. DO NOT ALLOW THESE environmental terrorists to lock you out!! Or hardass you if your up there, its your FULL Legal right to be.
@Trailsoffroad

Sadly this is becoming the norm here in California. Thanks for the insight. I have talked with several clubs already and they are trying to work out to go up there and move the rock. Hopefully it will be moved soon and things will go back to normal. Continue to fight and encourage others too. Thank you,

@@Trailsoffroad Great! Thanks so much! We are 35+ year locals several of us do what we can, meeting with local Sheriff & BLM about the people up there. One of us is working with BLM to get "Open Route" green sticker signs reposted to keep these people from screaming "PRIVATE ROAD" They are tied in with The Wildlands Conservancy so i fear there's another Land Grab on the horizon. I hope the offroad clubs are aware of DAC (Desert Advisory Council)? They help to inform the BLM of needs, wants & concerns of the public. They just held a meeting in Ridgecrest & i believe the next one is in the Palm Desert area.
