Glad to hear someone FINALLY mention the CMC origins. I think he came out with the prototype in like 86'. Nice review from an actual shooter!! SUBBED. I did the same thing with a Staccato P, and I'm going through the same "remove and replace" with a Tisas / MAC.

Thank you for mentioning about "CMC". I am new to 1911's (they have taken over my world) and I do not know how I missed that info. Something I need to learn about !!!!! 🙂

Impact Machine rolling out an RTS2 plate for the prodigy in the upcoming weeks. Was gonna pick it up to use with a Romeo 3 Max
@team_pasaway3 ай бұрын
I think I had one of their very first RTS 2 plates months ago. It took Scott sending me 3 or4 different plates with QC issues to finally get it right. Kudos to Scott for standing by his product. It works but there are areas for improvement for more support. For peace of mind I just got their RMR plate and slapped a Holosun 507C to be done with it.

I am about to buy a Prodigy and would like to know the lists of parts and brands that you used to change them. Thank you and would appreciate your reply.

Shoot it for awhile before you decide to "upgrade". Then, just go to EGW and order an "Ignition Kit". I also use their safety, slide lock and mainspring housing (17 lbs. spring). The only "custom" work I had done was the grip safety. I had fitted one that has a bigger engagement "bump" to make my grip less extreme. I went to a Dawson 11lbs. recoils spring with buffer and an EGW magwell. Shoots like a dream and never have any hiccups .................

Love all of this. But I will say I would’ve loved to see what would have happened if you just let the stock gun run on its own and push it until it just couldn’t anymore
@2strokeYardSale2 ай бұрын
Leaving it box stock is not the nature of the Limited Optics division nor 2011s in general. I can't imagine trying to race a motorcycle off the showroom floor without replacing the tires, adjusting the controls and suspension, tuning the air:fuel ratio, putting on my favorite grips, etc.
@danielrocha-garcia86092 ай бұрын
@@2strokeYardSale I understand that, but using that same analogy, if you take a motorcycle off the showroom floor and replace the motor, and the front and rear suspension, and then take do a mileage review on it, it’s not really a good test of the actual motorcycle because the majority of the parts that matter when it comes to reliability have been swapped for possibly superior/inferior parts. I came to this review from an average gun user perspective. I’m not interested in having to modify my firearm’s internals in order for it to work properly. If I find a gun that catches my interest but I find out it performs sub par, especially in reliability, I’m just not gonna purchase it. I personally don’t have any interest in MAKING my gun work properly, I want a gun that’ll work properly out the gate.

Try some Permatex Threadlocker Orange. We had some plate to gun, and optic to plate issues, SO FAR this seems to have cured it.
@2strokeYardSale3 ай бұрын
I have some orange waiting for the next time it comes loose. Or when I install the Impact Machine RTS2 plate somebody is sending me out of pity after watching this video.
@TheAmerican19632 ай бұрын
@@2strokeYardSale I had plate issues and finally just surrendered and used red Loctite ....... no problems since..... LOL, so far ....... 🙂

It seems a lot of people are having loose plates, I think because their right screw is too long and contacting the extractor.
@TheAmerican19632 ай бұрын
@@2strokeYardSale I think you are correct. Sorry I did not mention but I did shorten the right screw. Probably because twice at around 500 rounds they both came loose but the right one was significantly backed out compared to the left. This I thought caused the left to eventually loosen.

So not a Prodigy anymore, got it!
@AvgKsHunter2 ай бұрын
Yeah this definitely is not a 5000 rd prodigy review.
@evanmhowington29 күн бұрын
So basically when you’re done getting it to where you want it it’s essentially only a Prodigy by name 😂
@michaelmatos22 күн бұрын
So you basically reconfigured the gun.
@davemac2505Ай бұрын
Its no longer a prodigy though, its an almost completely custom gun. So its not really a 5000rnd prodigy review...other than that cool!
@grimlok3098Ай бұрын
At this point it's not a prodigy anymore . Customizing is one thing but, when u start changing all of the internals u can't at that point call it a prodigy. U changed the whole gun and functionality therefore u must change its name
@tobberfutooagain26282 ай бұрын
So what you are saying is, $3,000 later, you were shooting a great Prodigy…. Meh…
