Those Microbrushes you suggested were awesome. I was searching around for ways to successfully uncouple the cars and these solved my problem. Thank you

I did buy the N scale Rix uncoupling tool, and they are also under $5. The hard part is always finding them as they usually end up the same place as my standards gauges, which I can never find. I need to get some of those gum floss tools to clean my airbrush.

I'm in HO scale and I love the Rix Products uncoupling tools. I drill a hole on the handle and hang them up when not in use. I have 2 and plan to get a few more.

Great ideas. Have you ever tried the RIX 14 HO Magnetic Uncoupling Tool?...I just came across that tool today and was wondering how it worked...Thanks in advance. Also, the quick view you showed of your layout room looked very well done. I'm going to check more of your videos... Phil NYC / Jersey Shore Area

Great ideas and I had never thought about using a Microbrush for uncoupling. I'll have to give that a try. Got to keep those "greasy meat hands" off the rolling stock!-Tom

Everyone has their preferred method. Mine is the Rix Products uncoupling tool. Works real well for me.

Thankyou for this video I've always been into O scale and just inherited my uncles "EXTREMELY EXTENSIVE" HO scale collection and am very new to this scale I set up a 5 x 6 loop of track with some turnouts and sidings just to get the hang of this small scale and have been struggling with the kd couplers and have been having on multiple occasions using the 050 technique and it grinds my gears lol definitely subbing and I really like your content it's been a huge help!!!

I’ve had pretty good luck with a skewer stick - instead of coming in from the top to separate the knuckles, come in at a 45-degree angle and pull the “trip pin” outward

A coffee stirrer, a wooden flat one, works great and is my favorite... for HO anyway. It has to be sharpened but flat. like a small flat head screwdriver.

Great question, for those that don’t clip the Kadee hose, ya pull the hose to open the knuckle. How do Kadee hose clippers uncouple shelf couplers?

Uh-huh. Um.....these are Kadee couplers. Not sure if this fellow realizes that Kadee made a magnet expressly for this purpose; the magne-matic uncoupler. Don't go stickin crap in your Kadee couplers folks, get the right dang tool for the job. In this case, it's a magnet.
