Beautiful paddle. Thanks for taking us along. Onset of winter reminds us to never take these days for granted. Stay safe.

I spent yesterday on the Meremac River in east central Missouri. No one else on the river but me and my paddling buddy. Wonderful day. It was 60 and sunny….

Got to Spend yesterday afternoon paddling on the middle Chattahoochee River. Beautiful fall day, no one else on the river, except the beavers, an occasional spotted bass nibbling at something in the eddys, the plop-plop of acorns hitting the water, a few white-tailed deer along the shore and the rustle of leaves along the banks (mostly oaks and maples as the sycamores, hack berries and sour woods have dropped their leaves). There is nothing like a light, solo canoe and a single blade paddle on a flat river. Thank you Lisa, love these three minute videos!

Love those experiences on the Hooch. Sometimes that river feels so remote for how close it really is to Atlanta. Enjoyed a similar experience on the Weeki Wachee spring run here in Florida. Spent yesterday morning in my solo canoe with a beautiful single blade paddle my wife gave me over 30 years ago. A run that is notoriously busy almost year round was quiet, peaceful and sparsely paddled that time of morning. I think fall days on the water is the gift that the paddling gods give to those who know how to appreciate the lack of crowds and summerfolk. Once again, Lisa inspires with a timely "three minutes"!

Thank you Lisa....The leaves here ( central Alberta ,Canada) have long since fallen, there is no snow and the water is stiff. Take good care.

Hi Lisa, beautiful scenery, thanks for that ride. Would you consider doing a video showing us the bag you had strapped on and the contents of what you bring along on a trip?
@3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide4 ай бұрын
Sorry this is so late. The bag is a 13L dry bag and has a light wool shirt and a set of rain gear tops and bottoms. Depending on the time of year a pair of gloves and a bug shirt/ headnet. I always take it no matter how nice the weather is when I start out.

The winter days, they last forever and summer time goes by so quick . Running round this little country town, going nuts girl out in the sticks. Thanks Lisa hope you had a good season. I found a good one the other day ," they were a decent people, their only monument,the asphalt road and ten thousand golf balls. We must do better than that. Oh and an other one. If the pursuit of knowledge is not defended by the educated, it will not be defended at all. Leaving us with," nothing to look back on with pride and nothing to look forward to with hope" . See you in the spring . Stay warm. Happy Thanksgiving.

It’s been unseasonably warm in Wisconsin for weeks. I have my boats put away after the first snow, should have known that snow was a head fake.

Hello, for me the end of canoeing season is the begin of the dog sled training Checking maps for next season... someone knows about the Albany river ?
@3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide8 ай бұрын
Wow. Respect, I cooked for a dog sled trip once, it never got above 5 degrees Fahrenheit the whole trip. I kept eggs in the cooler so they wouldn’t freeze. Running a sled was fun, kinda of like Poling a little bit. I struck a deal with the lead dog, he patiently showed me what to do and put up with me and I scratched him all over each night.

Do you buy or make your poles?
@3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide8 ай бұрын
I buy them from Peavey Manufacturing in East Eddington Maine. Thanks for watching.
@MaineGuide348 ай бұрын
Do you make your own poles an how long are they Lisa. Thanks for the video
@3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide8 ай бұрын
I don’t make poles. Peavey Manufacturing in East Eddington Maine makes a fine ash setting pole, with a steel ferrule tip. You have to put the spike in yourself. Just screw in a lag bolt and cut the head off. Thanks for watching.
