A good recent example of the media being reluctant to discuss relevant news, or deciding what is 'news worthy' was that train derailment in East Palistine Ohio. a train derails in the middle of town and none of the main media outlets wanted to report on it. From what i saw there was no 'breaking news' report like there is when there is even when there is a car chase on the freeway. Fox, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC etc, none of them reported on the derailment, until it picked up undeniably high views on various social media outlets and even KZfaqr. less than 20 minutes of research explains why, the majority stock holders of all of those news media outlets are the same majority stock holders of Norfolk Southern. conversely, a accidental car crash at the US / Canada border was breaking news within 10 minutes of the crash, with several sensational reports that it was a terror attack.
