I definitely agree with Sadie’s perspective and understanding why she says what she says; where as the American culture will not see it through the same lease as her. Asian cultures, values, and beliefs in love and marriage is very different perspective than westerners. It’s difficult for westerners to understand & accept Sadie’s point of view. My upbringing is very similar to Sadie’s & I completely understand her perspective & why she believes it’s best for her. I’m Asian raised in the US & my environment is mostly whites, but somehow gravitate towards more of traditional Asian side within the family structures & marriage.

The purpose of a relationship is to give to the other person with no strings attached. Expecting things in return every time we give makes it transactional. Business is transactional: give money for certain goods, products, and/or services in return. Giving freely is vulnerable, but in essence love is freeing and hoping the best for the other person regardless of the outcome.
@ebbyc18175 ай бұрын
The problem is, how do we establish a non-transactional relationship on a transactional basis. How do you start with an app, that's essentially a supermarket, and turn that into something where you are giving for nothing, even dating in itself, showing up for dates, is largely transactional, if the person doesn't meet your expectations, you don't set up another date, you don't think to yourself, well I'll just keep seeing this person because they're nice, you assess them by how much they measured up to your expectations on each date, you're expecting something every single time you see them. How do we turn that into love, actual real love.

Sadia is correct on many things, if I were to add anything, on the "bad women (gold diggers) are attracted to the wealth a man has, and the man is replaceable" until she hits "the wall", I'd make the distinguishment that good women are attracted to the man's ability to create wealth among other things and also contribute to him creating wealth. Also, you see cases of young hot women are attracted to the bad boy/starving artists type even tho they are poor because she sees that he's got swag and confidence/potential so she's attracted to the potential rockstar that he will become. That's something that evolutionary biologist Gad Saad had concluded. Since most women don't want to bet on the wrong guy when they are young and waste their best years, it's much safer for them to wait at the finish line so it is a guarantee. By then, those successful men tends to be older, like 40/50's nowadays because unless they are a young celeb/media influencer, it takes men a while to accomplish and establish themselves. Getting those successful confident 20 year old dudes to settle is near impossible.

Whats not to like about this woman ? Being from a culture where you value other stuff than sex, and material things I totally understand her. And the thing Sadia said about how things have become I so agree, I've seen this with my own eyes. These so called phones did indeed close the gap between us and people that lived far far away from us, but what it also created a very huge gap between people near each other. I see the interviewer struggled to understand couple of points wich to me seems so easy, the dating several people part, why would I even date a person who has a lot of orbits around her ?

In the ecnomy,it's always about the price setter. In relationships between men and women,it's always about the standards setter. Standards are too materialistic,it's all about money and looks. The 10% of men are getting all the women they can handle,the rest of women are living in a state of delusion,thinking that they are the prize and that they really have a chance with the10% of men ,the rest of men get what they can get or they just choose to walk away.

I also feel like these days people divide values or worth between dating and marriage. Thats why of you see video ob what kind of man to marry; there’s always these things like these Atype of people is fun for dating but less for marriage, B type of people less fun for dating but is the best for marriage. Why that has to be separated? Dating and marriage should be continuous (of course if you’re not the kind who want to marry then whatevever). I feel like people also takong dating and fantasy and marriage as reality. When both is reality. The word love somehow becomes so different in meaning between dating and marriage. Only when you’re married love also means responsibility and loyalty that you have to work on,i do understand that it will differ when you’re dating and married;with kids, and in laws, but the gap that we have now is like so big that sometimes i feel like the love that was said while dating is too light lack of weight. Tho people usually think the other way around like the love has faded out in marriage. It an irony. Cause people think marriage is reality but think of the love in marriage as faded out, and doesn’t think the love while dating was not reality, it’s actually more like fantasy, clouded under rose tinted glass. That’s one of the reason there’s so much divorce, or not marrying because you do realize the heavy responsibilities that you have to take if you were to marry. Afraid of facing the realities of love. Just recently there was islamic scholar talking on how there was no word love being said between spouse/couple but only for God and us in the quran. For spouse/couple, God used mercy and affection. That’s kind of make sense for me so much. That idea of mercy and affection for spouse/couple(in other words not just love but loyalty and etc that we need ro work on)kind of has been wondering around it my head especially as i get older, but what that scholar said just makes it clear for me. (Mind you in not that good of muslim)

But these holy books and the message of God had been altered (hence why so many versions of the bible exist now) and people were not obeying Gods message, which is there is only one God, he has no partners, no sons, not to idol worship, etc. So then Allah (God) sent his final messenger, Mohammed pbuh and the Quran which is the actual word of God (through the Quran, God is speaking to us directly as oppose to the other holy books which are narrations from others. John Gray: "Estrogen makes women emotional, and during stress the female brain notices the problems 10 times more...she feels an urgency to alarm everybody about it. Testoserone makes men much more calm and focused on tasks, therefore hormone testosterone is about problem-solving." Women need probably doing a yoga or Qi-gong to feel grounded so she will not disturb the amn when focusing on his jobs. I was wondering "the alarm state" of mind" probably comes from ancient times when woman tried to keep her new born baby safe and alive, and the brain was probably in the scarecity reaction of subconscious mind program, so she would alarm everybody, please help, my child has a flu, or some bacteria etc so maybe the estrogen hormone craeted such a chaotic state of mind over the generations, I wonder if its genetic thing. Other wise why would the estrogen create such chaos in her mind,10 times more during the stress situation, if its purpose wouldn´t be the alarm system of the mind...please come save the baby from the flu or some virus etc? And men are technical geniuses usually so they realise immediatelly what the baby needs, she knows it too in other ways, but she isnt as technical as men are, when it comes to crisis. So these two hormones probably have its purpose, but we should learn to manage it.

I am in an interracial marriage, our differences in upbringing, eating habits, norms & values create a lot of frictions/problems in our marriage, children & life even our family background is similar. For examples, I like to try new food but he's a picky eater. I like new adventures & experience but he wants to stay home & do nothing. I expect our kids to excel but he is ok with mediocre. I love people but he hates human. I have growth mindset but he has fixed mindset.

The way that you're advising that people walk away is more about revenge, which is not going to help the person walking away. If you walk away, it needs to be for yourself, as a way of providing self love, so that you can heal. Not about how you're going to hurt the person who hurt you! How the other person feels is their responsibility not yours and is frankly non of your business. You walk away to care for yourself not to purposely cause pain to someone else or get some kind of revenge. Those types of mentalities make walking away, an empty win. If you want to really win and feel better then you need to do it for yourself and self love, nothing more or less!
