Infinitely repairable!! They don’t make cars like these anymore, or really anything like this anymore. Nowadays everything is disposable, which is sad. Great video John

I just went to repair my front passenger side window today and it appears the switch is the culprit. I ordered a new one ($87), but you mentioned that they can be repaired, perhaps?

Yes the switches can be disassembled and cleaned.

How did you reassemble the worm drive into the geared housing? The case does not split open.

Yeah, but can you tell me? Does it require powering it? I’m thinking the bushing in the gear housing is obstructing it?

My father’s 300SDL makes a loud popping sound whenever his window rolls all the way up. Like the motor isn’t disengaging when it should stop. I thought I’d seen you address something similar in a video. Any ideas?

Yes that's usually one of the teeth missing from the window actuator gear or one of the teeth not engaging. I would say not to use that window anymore until you can have it looked at. It could also be the little plastic slider that moves back and forth and the window regulator track has popped loose. Again try not to use the window or it'll get worse.
