That’s the gauntlet we are running, il be honest where terrified of losing her but we’ve lost all our other stars 2 weeks ago we feel without her at the moment we would seriously struggle. The one thing I will say though is we took 2 off her for stock and we have both her parents and quite a few full brothers and sisters in the yb team , but we don’t relax on a Saturday until she returns 🤞

Yeah if made me smile as well David , he had a tear in his eye when she returned a day late from the disaster race , she’s one in a million for sure . She actually got pipped by a decimal yesterday it’s the first time when she’s arrived first she hasn’t won but you can’t win them all mate

Hi Tommy , she’s impeccably bred out of our 2020 bird of the year The Bullet x a double fed winning daughter of the Twin Hen , the bullet is syndicate loft lines whereas the twin hen comes from our best family lines

Mainly body Andrew , we couldn’t get any size on them the week before after the bad race , and you could see it in there loft flying , an example our hens usually disappear for 30- 40 mins whereas that week 10-15 mins and they were circling the loft , the birds will tell you if there is something not right and these didn’t eat or drink enough while in the transporter and had used every ounce of there body just to get home , we got one back on the Wednesday of that week will never race again it was like a skeleton in the hand . @@alibrospigeons8317 Thanks lads for taking the time to answer that and all makes sense. Was getting the body right just down to feeding or anything else, rest etc

@@AndrewKenmare I think I would have to say a combination of the two , we changed the corn to a heavier mix but I think there is nothing better for recovery than rest , so the food was maybe changed for 3-4 days before reverting back to our usual racing mix , but time to recover from the exertions is essential

At this stage I think she’s just been pipped mate , but as a team I think they came well , see it’s been very much a recovery mission since the race 2 weeks ago where we lost 14 of our top racers and the ones who returned were in terrible condition so it’s our national race next week so where pretty happy that they seem to be getting back to form 👍
