Just a wee overnight trek and camp to test the gear I expect to take on the Tour du Mont Blanc later this year. I headed from Bridge of Orchy to Rannoch Moor and back in the hope I might catch a spot to see the Northern Lights too. Ah well...Join me to see what gear worked and what gear didn't.

I have done the walk from Rannoch station to Kinloch Rannoch many a time and i have always enjoyed the area. I think it has it`s own beauty.

In summer for sure, brutal when the wind and snow comes , but that has its own charm too :-)

Had similar issue with my tiny pump. Flextail replaced the battery, that didn't sort it, so they sent a new pump. Very good customer service. Absolutley no quibbling, they didn't even want the faulty one back. Just bit of a delay coming from China but overall very happy.

Sorry about the Northern Lights, have been missing them here in New Hampshire as well. The scenery of West Highland Way makes me want to jump on a plane and hike those beautiful Scottish hills, thank you as always for sharing your short shake down trip.

You grabbed a fantastic bargain there with the S10 Andrew. I have the S15 and it's my favourite tent apart from when it's warm . I had an extra guy out tab fitted on the sil nylon vestibule half way between the zip and the left hand side pegging point which works really well in the wind because i found when it got wet/stretch/wind it intruded quite significantly into my vestibule area so well worth getting it done and it only cost me £10. Good luck on the TDMB

@@AndrewParkOutdoors Yeah you could, i asked the woman to sew it on inbetween the existing stitch line that was already on the seam line and now i have put a bungee cord on it to give it a bit of give and it works well.
