みなさん、こんにちは！
今日は先ず、前回倒した松の木の先端が隣の敷地に入っているので、
チェーンソーで切って片づけます。
作りかけで放置状態のボードウォークの土台を傷つけないように・・・。
先端部は良い薪になります。
それにしても、ここには立派なシダが多い。
来春の貴重な食材になりそうです。
ところで、この2万円以下の格安マシンもだいぶ調子が出てきたようで、
これくらいの太さだと楽に切れます。
とにかくこんなに使えるとは思いませんでした。
これだけの太い丸太が簡単に切れて、なぜこんなに安いのか？
恐らく古いタイプでエンジンが焼けやすいんだと思います。
だから30分以上は作業を続けないほうがよさそうです。
そして、この長い幹は破損したボードウォークの補修に使います。
隣に作った新しい里芋畑。
順調に育っています。
湿地帯に盛土をした畑なので心配していましたが一安心です。
11月に里芋を収穫したら、冬場はここに大根とほうれん草の種を蒔いてみようと思います。
キウイに、たくさんの実がついてきました。
去年も800個獲れましたが今年は倍増しそうな勢いです。
移植して5年目。
今が伸びごろかも。
そろそろ来年の冬には剪定したほうがいいかもしれませんね。
とにかく楽しみです。
春先に撒いたニンジンもしっかり発芽して成長しています。
ニンジンは猛暑に弱いですが、ここは適当に日陰があり、夏場をうまく乗り越えれば、秋の成長期に期待できます。
キャベツには、去年鳥や青虫に食われたので、
念のためネットを被せて殺虫剤をかけました。
キャベツはボリュームもあり、高価なので、
うまくいけば本当に大きいのです。
モロヘイヤも育ってきました。
たくさん獲れそうですが、葉っぱ以外は毒があるとのこと。
要注意です。
さて、ジャガイモを収穫します。
ちょっと早すぎるかもしれませんが、
去年は枯れてから収穫したら、大きくはなっていたのですが、
腐りやすいジャガイモでした。
そこで今年は葉が黄緑になってきたところで収穫してみます。
小ぶりでも新鮮なものが収穫できるはずです。
3月に種芋を植え付けてから3か月。
短期間で収穫できて、
8月末にまた植え付けられるジャガイモ。
これだけは失敗したくない！
ジャガイモの茎を引き抜き、マルチシートを剥がし、
土からジャガイモを掘り起こします。
マルチシートの効果は絶大。
何といっても遮光によって草が生えない。
雨に撃たれないので、いつまでも土はふかふか。
そして冬場に霜柱が立たない。
ちなみに、この土は土ふるいで作りました。
だから、劣化させたくないのです。
幸い、2日ほど雨が降りそうもないので、
このまま畑で乾燥させます
しっかり乾燥させれば、保存中に腐ることはありません。
その間に一度マルチシートをはがして土づくりをします。
消石灰と堆肥を入れて、再度マルチシートで覆います。
そして、2日後、ジャガイモの後作に相性がいいと言われるネギの種を蒔きました。
今回は太いねぎのペレットタイプの種です。
ここでもジャガイモとネギの交互連作をしてみます。
秋から冬にかけて収穫できるはずです。
結局、約400個のジャガイモは収穫できました。
実はちょっと不安だったのです。
というのも、今年は種芋を買う予算がなくて、
北海道から取り寄せた普通のジャガイモを植えつけたからです。

半分残っていたのでやむなく使いました。
病気がでなくてよかったです。
結果オーライですが、
良い子は決してマネしないでくださいね。
何といっても、素人サバイバーのやることですから。
ジャガイモは玄米と同じように主食と言ってもいいものなので、
8月末に猛暑を過ぎたら、
空いている畑に、発芽の早い長崎産のジャガイモ、「デジマ」を植え付ける予定です。
今度はちゃんと種芋を植え付けたいですね。
1本だけ元気にピーマンが育っています。
なかなかうまくいきません。
ここは冬が早いので北海道産のジャガイモは大きくならないのです。
さて、これで長ネギの種まき終わりました。
他の畑で大根とネギが獲れたので、
大根おろしと刻み葱にします。
先日玉ねぎを収穫した後に種を撒いたニンジン。
もう、芽が出ています！
そして、諦めていた他の畑の雑草を抜いたら…
ピーマンとカボチャの芽も出ていました！
うまくいけば、大きくなってくれるかもしれません。
梅雨時でもできる仕事があります。
それは草刈り。
製材機のグラインダーで研ぎながら、
この丈夫な刃1枚で、1年間草刈りをします。

The new taro field I made next door.
It's growing well.
I was worried because it's a field made by piling up soil in a wetland, but I'm relieved now.
After I harvest the taro in November, I'm going to try sowing radish and spinach seeds here during the winter.
A lot of the kiwi fruit has started to bear fruit.
Last year I got 800,
but this year it looks like I'll get double that.
It's been five years since I transplanted them.
Now might be the time for them to grow.
It might be time to prune them next winter.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the harvest.
These carrots sown this spring have sprouted and are growing well.
Carrots are sensitive to intense heat,but there is adequate shade here,and if they can make it through the summer,I can look forward to a good growing season in the fall.
Last year, many cabbages were eaten by birds and caterpillars,
so I covered it with a net and sprayed it with insecticide just to be safe.
Cabbages are big and expensive,
so if all goes well, it will be really big one for me.
The molokhia tree has also started to grow.
It looks like I can harvest a lot of it, but apparently everything except the leaves is poisonous.
It's important to be careful.
Now, it's time to harvest the potatoes.
It may be a little too early,
but last year I harvested them after they had withered, and they were big,
but they were prone to rotting.
So this year I'll harvest them when the leaves have turned yellow-green.
I should be able to harvest fresh potatoes, even if they're small.
It's been three months since I planted the seed potatoes in March.
Potatoes can be harvested in a short period of time,
and planted again at the end of August.
I don't want to fail this!
I pull out the potato stems, peel off the mulch sheet
and dig the potatoes out of the soil.
The mulch sheet is extremely effective.
First of all, it blocks out the light, so grass doesn't grow.
It protects the soil from rain, so it stays soft and fluffy.
And there are no frost pillars in winter.
Incidentally, I made this soil using a soil sieve.
That's why I don't want it to deteriorate.
