Hard to know how I feel when I don't know what the multiplayer designer's role was. Is it content? is it balancing? is it the overall experience? etc. If this role was meant to be a strategy role, then it makes sense that he left since the foundations for the game are already there, and now they're building on top of it. If this role was tactical or operational, then it's more concerning, because we need those people supporting the day-to-day month-to-month experience of the game. FYI my background is in Business Operations (got my MS on that), but no experience in software dev

4 new maps for ranked would literally make the game 100x better

Again, there have been multiple creative directors who have left as well. MP leads have been cycling out since Halo 4 (kevin franklin). Anyone remember Josh Holmes? Chris Lee? The list goes on and on. Bonnie Ross should have been fired like 50 times, no one wants to work there. There has to be a bigger reason. Keep in mind, this is a HUGE studio that make ONE game.

I feel like its a new beginning. Final fantasy 14 switched lead devs and it allowed them to make one of the biggest gaming comebacks in gaming history.

The same thing happened with apex legends the entire core developers that actually built Titanfall 1/2 and apex legends all left, there was like 10+ core devs that left and we still don't know the outcome of that and won't until season 13 (game is currently in season 12) the core developers had a roadmap and were working on stuff up until season 13 and then those core devs left so we're still in the era of those devs that left with seasons they worked on and it won't be until season 13 or 14 when we get to the content the new devs had full control of that we will have a gauge on how the new devs are. Now that long rant ties into halo because we won't see the impact of what happens from the dev leaving until after the final stuff they worked on is over. Only time can tell.

I think Bonnie Ross is an incompetent, she should be replaced and give her place to Joseph Staten, that would be really beneficial for the franchise

Lead devs leaving the supposed big “10 year plan” is not a good sign just like many many other times.

I've loved this game since day one and honeslty don't have any issues really with it other than the fact that they haven't released any new maps or new game modes. Other than that the game has always been fun for me idk why so many people have been trashing it. All they need is new maps and new game types and the game would already be 1000x better

Not to dismiss the notion that there are many things that could be improved upon, mostly from the content side of things imo, it's pretty funny hearing Halo Infinite 'a sinking ship' or that 'everything is on fire' after spending way too much time with Warzone. A game that has had so many literal game breaking bugs and ridiculous weapon balance that it was at times almost literally impossible to play.

I mean, if things have been clearly not working with the current staff, it makes sense to have a change in staff to bring a new perspective and outlook on things. Fingers crossed that this staff change is for the better

Downloaded MCC last night, didn’t even get around to playing it. I was instantly reminded how much more substance the old halo games had. And in comparison, how dry The content of Infinite is. Pretty smooth multiplayer, But I’ve maxed out levels giving the game no incentive at this point, and when I experience bad ping and desync it makes it’s hard to want to keep playing

Anytime I see a management position leave at 343 it’s a good thing imo. Couldn’t get worse with someone else

I am hoping that things get better, but I'm not playing halo until they do.

What's bothering me the most about halo infinite rn is the lack of communication and this idea of "transparency" that they promised but have lacked in their responses. I can't speak for everyone, but what I want is weekly or biweekly updates on things, doesn't even have to be a whole article, talking about what they are working on and them acknowledging our feedback. Maybe they could give us an insight on forge.

Throwing this out there and curious what you guys think...do you think the reason they haven't told us anything about infection is because they want to release it when they campaign DLC for involving the flood? Infection and Flood have been bounced around in previous games and in conversations before so I could see then using that as a marketing tactic in their plan for what to work on and when to release content. I'm not saying this is a good plan, but could a plan they have. Idk though.

Still playing, Would love it if they can add some team snipers and team doubles. That should be easily doable in my opinion.And with those I should be able to last till season 2

In my opinion I don’t see new people coming into an existing video game as a good thing, I feel as if it would take allot of love and allot of passion to see the content that we want and that’s just hard to come by if you these new people are just gonna treat it as a regular 9-5 and not as a piece of art. considering infinite is supposed to be a 10-year plan, I'm hopeful that by season 2 a lot of the issues that are prevalent today will be worked out, personally I just need ranked slayer, & desync issues FIXED, i genuinely love halo & just want to see the company win, but of course, if they can't deliver most likely ill just revert back to 5...we don't know what the future holds, but let's hope it looks good, many blessings

God, just let this company die. Dismantle 343 Industries and let their employees scatter to their own paths and leave Halo alone. Halo has struggled for too fucking long now, it’s heart wrenching, but enough is enough already.

I'd like infection too, but I don't see us getting it (or at least a fun version) with the current shotgun in the game. If you adjust the damage to make it a 1sk, then it's fire rate is too fast, so simply adjusting the damage doesn't solve the problem, we would also need the old shotgun to return, and Forge here first. Most of the stuff we are waiting for in this game needs to come all at once in a huge update because so much of one thing is dependent on the others. It's why the game is in such terrible shape atm and has a LONG way to go to climb out of the hole 343 has dug for it. Simply adding maps and modes is nothing more than a bandaid fix until we get the full Halo experience. I hate to admit that because I wanted this game to take the fuck off, but 343 launched this game a year early and it's hurting the game here in the short term. Hoping after the 1 year mark this game will be in much better shape, as of now nothing in the season 2 update really makes me want to come back to the game.

Gonna keep watching comp cause it's definitively entertaining and a fun game but too frustrating for me personally. I've switched to Valorant at least for the time being

If the lead dev is the source of the problems then its a good thing, and maybe some better can step in. Maybe they need to clean house so this game can have dedicated non toxic people working on it. The lack of content and updates are a symptom of a greater problem at 343.

It sounds like employees are giving up, or are being forced out because of terrible decisions. I definitely don’t think this is a good thing now, maybe a good thing for the next potential Halo. But for Halo Infinite, this sounds like the whole development team is under fire and is crumbling under the pressure.

I'd say... If 343 doesn't add at least 5 new maps & several ranked play options.. by June 1... Halo will be dead

Doesn’t make a difference to me. I just want more content. Really confused why it takes so long to create new game types… much less new maps. How hard is it to have BR starts in regular slayer when you don’t feel like playing ranked? Whoever they hire needs to understand what the people want and have a knowledge of early Halo and what made them so special.

heres my opinion honestly theres still issues when you play, btb, or social 4v4 or what ever and, a friend yesterday made it fairly clear, its just not fun any more. So why play... MY issues are - weapon ballance - weapon placement in maps - lack of weapons on maps where there should be - btb doesnt feel like it when therey are generally fought with a AR and a pistol with a warthog here and there, thats a fucking joke imo - a lot of the maps seem unbalanced when drops come in, or vehicles make loosing games a complete loss because of a drop - still glitches in mechanics like melee, weapon feel, and handle (ie speed of switch or fire rate/reload) - issues with lag still in btb - cheaters still there even in social and its fucking glarring when theyre first and all you see is kills from them and headshots non stop - they basically took halo mp and did a spin and everyone was like oh cool yay and now they dug past the sugar frosting to reveal the giant turd under - the shop yeah has gotten better but fuck thats a hole other story - for example armor and vehicle colors should be fucking free like just give us a fucking color wheel and done - what SHOULD be monitized is stuff like armor/vehicle patterns, and textures and coating like pearlescent and metalic, patterns like cammo, digital and so on as well cosmetic attachments as they are, are fine to be monetized but pricing should be looked at again 100%

Honestly. I'm already bored with it and probably won't care much when forge and multi camp comes out. I don't want to spend 4 months doing MP then 4 months doing multi camp then 4 months doing forge. People get bored. When it's all released at once then you 12 months of mixed content. And the card last even longer than that.. fuck it. It's just the same shit for too long and when new shit comes out it won't have a purpose anymore. Because of burn out. How I feel about lead designer leaving. Just sealed everything I said above. I'm a developer myself so yeah. This ships gonna crash. I've seen it too many times. They couldn't afford any other set backs and this is a major one.

343 is losing employees too hence the lack of content. They should have realized from past halos like 4 and 5, that the only thing that kept their game remotely relevant was player made maps. They had 6 YEARS to work on this game but delivered an unfinished product. If they were smart they would have released forge DAY 1 that way the community could at least keep themselves entertained meanwhile they have some time to work on MM and game modes and such. Maybe they know all of this and just don't care? What's funny to me tho is 343 is now experiencing what many forgers and custom game hosts had to experience and i FUCKING LOVE the irony. Whenever a custom game couldn't keep players attention for more than 30 seconds they would just quit and go to another custom game. Causing lag, frame drops and other issues for the lobby they just quit from (This is extremely infuriating, but i get it ppl have short attention spans hence the term GOLDFISH). So people started making incredible custom maps that DID draw player attention and kept a full lobby. Same principle applies to 343 right now. They released an underwhelming product now they must deal with all the goldfish migrating to other games. And now look the employee who was the LEAD for MM just quit. And not just him but others too have found other jobs because working on halo infinite is "too demanding rn" and they would rather work easier jobs (which i understand). But they had 6 YEARS. At this point they should just give the rights to Halo to some other studio like Epic Games at least they would provide new content weekley. What 343 is doing honestly just looks like laziness its almost as bad as a ubisoft game.

They better have a steady 2 week release schedule for new maps during season 2. It would be sad and pathetic if they spent all this time to only have 1 arena and 1 btb map planned and ready to go for an entire season. 1 map is simply UNACCEPTABLE.
