35 Year old BMW Injector Repair/ Replacement 1988 E28 535is || M30 Teardown & Rebuild

Күн бұрынHow to clean, remove and replace the injectors in my 1988 BMW 535is.
Was originally going to service and clean original injectors until I saw how crusty they really were.
Simple job without even removing the fuel rail.
I was hoping this service would help the car reach redline to which it did! Before it would fall off around 5500rpm.
Doing this replacement also helped with my hot start issue. Before the car would not restart after a long drive until it was cool, but that's no longer

I'm afraid of breaking the injector connectors. Do you have a more detailed video/step on how to do that. I know it might look trivial to people, but I don't want to mess up my wiring loom.

You notice a slight increase in power and response after?

Yes an increase in throttle response, slightly higher rpm rev and tiny extra power

About to do the same thing. I have a hard start problem when it's warm after sitting for 10-15 minutes. Changed the FPR and no joy. Car has 220K miles so it's probably time anyway. Then, I'll continue to troubleshoot from there.

Did it work? I was having the same heat soak issues before i replaced mine

@@MissionmadeAirsoft It was the fuel pumps. I changed those and it made everything better. I didn’t have to change my injectors.

@@timisoutdoors surprisingly I never had to replace mine. Good to hear, would still recommend replacing injectors if you want to car to feel a bit more preppy

My injectors were replaced, you need special tools to properly rebuild and test injectors. I tried rebuilding them initially, not worth it on such an old car

Replace with Bosch WR9LS. But they’re difficult for me to find in US.
