I scheduled a trip about 5 years ago with a friend from Greece, but her Mother became very ill. I was unsure about going alone. I still think about going every time I a, in Greece, but worry about going there alone.

@@agirlandherpassport my favorite was Positano. I could have spent the whole 3 weeks there. I stayed in a Hostel that was up high on the hill with a panoramic view of the sea. Things like that were cheap back then, probably not now.

We were there 3 weeks ago and went to Trevi right at dawn and there were no baracades and only 15 ppl. Got an Espresso and that white cream pastry. Came back at late afternoon and Ive never seen so many people packed around a fountain and it supposed to be the off season. Cant even imagine middle of summer.

So, the barricades exit now in order to manage the crowds, especially around the fountain. I went over 10 years ago and they did not exist. Went back after Fontana di Trevi was cleaned/maintained and there were barriers.😢

So fun fact!! The hole in the ceiling vaporizes the water as it falls through it!! During the rainy days only a small amount of water gets through in comparison to the size of the hole

No ugly boat despite being at the Spanish steps🙄. Also I thought you’re supposed to toss the coin over your left shoulder with your right hand at the Trevi fountain. 😉

I couldn’t get a good angle on it since I couldn’t go up the steps. Who knows! I don’t believe all that stuff anyway. But happy for them to have my change to help upkeep it.

Some American movie was being filmed yesterday at the Spanish Steps…didn’t see anyone famous, nor did anyone I talk to know the name of the movie.

I don’t remember the name but there is 1st century (I think) church in Rome, that two other buildings are sitting on top of it. We were told that the archeologist keep discovering buildings in Rome 😊

@@agirlandherpassport San Clemente is the church and definitely worth a visit. you must purchase timed entry tickets to visit the underground areas ahead of time, though the present church itself is quite old, and represents medieval and baroque eras and very beautiful.

Also, you may have known, but did not mention, that S Iganzio is known for a couple of things: first is the baroque design and arrangement of the buildings forming the piazza in front of it but also the tromp loeil ceilings in particular the dome in the centre which due to cost over-runs was pained on a canvas that is meant to have you believe that you are looking up into a dome.

I would say in the neighborhood of Rione VI Parione which is near Piazza Navona but it will be much more expensive here.

Per te una precisazione: il nome "Trevi" non deriva da una città. Ma è una trasposizione dal latino " Trivium" e cioè piazza o fontana dove confluiscono 3 strade. Spero di averti dato una interessante informazione
