3 below is really fun i just think people missed Jim and Claire that’s how my little brother felt

Trollhunters and Wizards were amazing in their own way, but 3below was also amazing too and it never got boring and it was definitely more funny out of the three.

Favorite part: Aja and Krell's sibling dynamics were fantastic, their care for each other felt real and gave me all the warm-fuzzies. 3-Below is definitely underrated, I was sad not to see a lot of them in Wizards, but hopefully we'll get a good team-up in Rise of the Titans.

I completely agree! 3 Below is way too underrated, and I wish people would treat it as well as they do Trollhunters and Wizards. Don't get me wrong, I love the Trollhunters characters, and I missed them in the first season, but as the show progressed, I became more and more attached to Aja and Krel, and just the really great storyline! I really hope that their shown in the upcoming movie!

For me, the first time watching 3Below I was sad it wasn't more Trollhunters. I let that feeling blind me a little too much. But then I watched again much later and I found myself enjoying it almost as much if not more than Trollhunters! I think its one of those shows that could have used a little breathing room. Kind of like Avatar and Korra

I actually watched 3bellow before Trollhunters and was extremely confused when Jim and the game came in at times like: Why are the collecting lighting, thats weird kind of thing. I thought the story was very well developed and when I realized Trollhunters existed I watched the first season and was kinda disappointed and I do agree it was way more interesting as it got into the later seasons.

I love Tales of Arcadia. It feels thoughtful and the storyline makes sense. Villians are not just ''evil'' they have a backstory on why they turned out that way(Morgana,Arthur,Angor Rot etc.) Also the graphics from 3below was amazing!! I wish we can all get vaccined until the movie comes out so we can watch it in cinemas :)

Bro I was trying to get people to understand how good 3below actually is, I'm so glad this came up! I feel like most don't like it because 1. It was a little rushed even tho it had 2 seasons 2. It was not trollhunters it was the children telling their story 3. Not many trollhunters characters were in there This show is amazing though and most of all, the villain The main villain from 3Below may not have done much to affect the other two shows in the franchise, to be fair, but in my opinion, he was just the perfect villain. Morando is yet another antagonist who is indicated to have once been a good person: the leader of an army called the Taylon Phalanx, Morando once dutifully served the king and queen of Akiridion. However, as time went on, he began to grow more and more ambitious; he believed that Akiridion - and, in fact, the universe as a whole - was a chaotic place that the current rulers could not control, and came to decide that the only hands worthy of guiding the balance to its proper place were his own. Morando tried to take over the throne, but failed and was banished…but years later, at the start of the show, Morando returns and leads an uprising in a second bid for the throne. This time, he succeeds, killing the King and Queen and sending their children on the run. Taking over Akiridion as the new king, Morando thus spends the rest of the show seeking to make the galaxy into his empire, and sends a score of bounty hunters to track down the prince and princess and destroy them. Morando was just about everything you could want out of an antagonist: while not much is given about his time before his treasonous acts, it IS still indicated there was a time where he wasn’t such a power-hungry monster, and it really makes you wonder what happened to set him off on this course. Was it mere vanity, or something more? His personality and ways of working are great too: while Morando spends most of the series well away from his rivals, we still see quite a lot of him throughout the show. He’s a skilled puppet master, working wickedly behind the scenes, but he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty, being a VERY skilled soldier and fighter. His persona has a theatrical side, with a sibilant voice and an almost operatic bearing, complete with a cape…but he can still whoop you in a second. When he gets into battle, he’s dead serious, commanding, and takes no prisoners. On top of that, he’s a cunning manipulator, able to find people’s weak spots and exploit them in numerous ways. You can almost think of him as a combination of Jafar and Darth Vader. He could be over-the-top or subtle; a physical menace or an intellectual challenge; and since he was responsible for the deaths of basically every major character’s family, either directly or indirectly, that meant there was a pretty strong emotional battle there, too - something the main villains of the other shows, to be honest, didn’t have QUITE as much of. Sure, some of them BECAME emotional threats - Gunmar caused the death of one of Jim’s friends near the end of the show, for instance - but they rarely STARTED OUT that way. Morando, right from the word go, basically, is an emotional challenge as much as anything else.

I personally think the three shows are overall at a similar level of quality, with their different pros and cons ultimately balancing out. However, my personal opinion is that 3BELOW is my favorite. It doesn’t rely on troll hunters as much as wizards does( atleast in terms of the world and ideas) but ties in at the perfect points, like how gaylen’s core came from earth, and is probably a magical force of some kind. It was also the perfect length. Wizards was top short, and while I won’t say troll hunters was too long, I did kinda just want certain episodes to end part way through, just because I wanted to get to the plot I found interesting. 3BELOW doesn’t have this issue, each episode is a fine mixture of comedic filler adventures, and intricate plot developments, meaning that I never got bored watching. If I had to describe my praises in a single word, it would be “balanced”.

I loved 3Below. I have to admit, I wasn't sold on it when I watched the trailer, but I gave it a chance during lockdown. I admired how the writers snuck in some displays of micro-aggressions immigrants may go through when coming to a new country. I agree on the parents' death as well. I wish the writer's could have let the audience see more of the parents so that they could be more emotionally invested in the king and queen at their deaths. Expanding on the jock's and nerd's characters in this series was refreshing. However, in my opinion, I wish I could have seen Aja's journey of being part of the human crowd to slowly becoming more in charge at home along with Krel being recluse from the human crowd to eventually loving Earth enough to give Aja his place on the throne.

Thank you! I always hear people openly hate on 3Below because they liked Trollhunters more, but that doesn't mean that this show is bad! It has its own set of lovable leads, messages/themes, and great storytelling. Even though there are some more comedic moments, it can still be very emotional and have meaningful development to nearly all of the characters.

It's a very good show. Obviously I think Trollhunters is better but 3below is very good. And Wizards is a GREAT show HOWEVER I just felt like it needed maybe 15 episodes if it was going to be one season because the pacing was just really fast. But overall Tales of Arcadia is a fantastic series!

i found this video after a full half hour's trying to find someone as excited as i am about this series, and i find this cathartic to my feelings of frustration about the lack of approbation the series ought to be getting (i find your rationale v likely, given the audience demographic). i only came into the tales of arcadia series last Thursday because ads never crossed my path and no one in my social circles is likely to watch the series, etc.. suffice it to say that the entire franchise grew on me quickly... and nothing as tenaciously as 3below. you have the exact reaction to arcadia pacing as i did: trollhunters dragged, wizards felt rushed, but - akin to goldilocks and the three bears, i found the right pacing with 3below. the right balance between plot and character development is here. i also constantly found myself uttering 'good lines; perfect delivery' throughout. the cast is unbelievable, and they deliver relatable and humorous characters. offerman? goes without saying. glenn close? nails Part 2, imbuing an invisible mothership with an emotive personality. on the other hand, someone needs to gripe about pronunciation consistency AND accent consistency. as regards accents, the difference between diego luna and anthony garcia drives me bonkers. i see a clear intent that was met with krel's delivery: not so much his father. in terms of thing that fell flat... for me? there are dozens of awkward lines and weird humor inserts and, most importantly, the occasionally disorienting disconnect between the atmosphere of what is happening around characters and their silent reactions to that atmosphere. it's as though animators were given the voice actors' recordings and matched expressions to the recordings well enough but, when it came time to animate expressions between dialogue, animators either had no time or not enough information to clearly and consistently animate how characters ought to be silently reacting to dialogue and observed action. i have no idea of the project budget or timeline but, for a story that relies so heavily on character development, every expression - foreground or background - has meaning and should be consistent with each character. i most appreciate the balance of humor (even if it isn't my favorite type of humor) with very real, very dark adult themes. reading between the lines, you see a lot happening to the characters under the surface that makes their resilience and optimism in the face of the worst impending fates imaginable even more inspiring and lovable. anyway, my thanks for this review. i seriously'd thought i'd gone nuts, or that my taste in pop culture had finally wandered off to die in a ditch. i'm looking forward to seeing the final installment in the tales of arcadia x dreamworks franchise next year and to seeing my favorite characters finally reunited.

Ricky and Lucy are my favorite because it was unexpected. I thought varvatos and the the other lady was gonna die for the plot but it was the parents. I didnt like how we didn't learn about the alien with the reed boots tho. I thought it was interesting.

I think thay should look in to doing a seiries thats based around the supernatural ghosts n stuf and then do a seiries where all the charaters from all the difrent seiries have to come together to defeet the BBG.

I had a foster parent a few years ago who watched 3below before she saw wizards and trollhunters until I told her about the franchise. She loves 3Below and loves Varvatos Vex and quotes "GLORIOUS!" all the time I was there. After I left her, I was placed in a second foster home where I was taken in by a lovely couple and I talked about the Tales of Arcadia so much, they got interested and watched all three of Trollhunters and I'm pretty sure they are finishing the franchise without me now that I'm back with my mom and brothers and sisters. But that's okay! ☺ I pretty much watch the entire franchise on repeat with my brothers.

My one complaint: I feel to complete Varvados's story arc in a way, that, personally for me, would've been more fulfilling, is having him die at the finale. I love the character more than anyone, I just feel the way they stopped him from dying was cheap, and that him sacrificing himself for the throne would've been a much better way for him to go.

3Below was a hidden gem and I agree does help with all characters growth and always loved the crossover episodes the most.

I was later to the shows of Tales of Arcadia. I first watched 3Below. The second season had just come out, and it was advertised on Netflix, so I clicked on it and watched it. It was amazing, and it's definitely a different experience watching the second installment of the franchise when I didn't even know that Trollhunters was a part of the same universe. The excitement I felt when I was watching Trollhunters and noticing Aja and Krel in the couple of episodes where they made crossovers was amazing. I've truly come to love all the characters from all three T.V. Series, Trollhunters, EBelow, Wizards. The changes and progression from all the characters over the years warms my heart. But for the life of me, I will barely acknowledge the existence of the movie Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. I end up going on whole tangents explaining the time travel and how it makes me mad at the end of the movie. I have lots of strong opinions for the movie, both good and bad, and I'm sure a lot of long-time fans of the franchise also have their fair share of words. But to go back and watch the show again, when pretending the movie doesn't exist. It still makes me happy to watch these characters change and grow, and with 3Below being the first of my viewing experience, though was weird on my first watch around. I still enjoy this TV show, and I recommend it just as the rest. I can understand why people would be more attached to the characters from Trollhunters, then to see a second installment only to follow different characters would be less appealing and over shadowed, I still think this show is amazing despite the major retcon-ing the movie does. :)

3 Bellow is actually my favorite of the 3 shows so far, Trollhunters obviously second and Wizzard third (not the worst I still love that show, but of the 3 is the weakest because is only 1 season).

I watched Tales of Arcadia out of order and originally got into it just after the first season of 3Below launched. that was that show that introduced me to this wonderful world. and because of that, 3Below will always hold a very special place in my heart.

I first watched Trollhunters and I just got obsessed with it, it was more than amazing definitely one of the top top shows ever!! Then I didn’t watch 3 Below after but when Wizards came out I was like I need to watch 3 Below first! But when I started the first episode of Wizards I realized that I can understand it even without watching 3 Below and I got obsessed with it just as much as Trollhunters!!! Then I went back to 3 Below because I was a bit curios about its connection to the story and also to fill the gap in between although I did not expect myself to like it just as much because aliens were kind of away a little bit from Trolls and Wizards cause these ones were totally connected......... BUT MAN WAS I WRONG!!!.... I totally loved the story and the characters just as much! Let me just say that Aja and Krel were amazing with their character development , they really went through a lot and ... yeah like they say Don’t Judge a Book By It’s Cover

Steve in Wizards felt off after his portrayal in 3Below. I think they could've done some timey-wimey stuff and merged Lancelot & Steve into a single character. Not literally "merge" but imagine this: Steve falls into the time portal a few seconds before everyone else. Due to some time flow discrepancy, he actually has spent over 5 years in Camelot before the rest of the team arrived. So now he's the historical Lancelot, 21 years old, arm missing, hardened warrior. Wouldn't that be better?

I agree with about everything in this, Ive never seen a strictly fantacy world have a sci-fi background to it, and yes you could say star wars was fantacy and Sci-fi but those were heavily mixed while in Tales of Archadia Fantacy and Sci-fi are split creating three sides of the story, one the normal world, two the magical world, and three the alien visitors.

3 Below is the first of the tales of Arcadia series that I watched in the correct order start to finish I had watched about half to three quaters of the troll-hunter episodes so I kinda knew what was going on (I still haven't watched them all), and I've watched the wizards series but found it rushed all that plot and development crushed into 10 episodes. My one complaint against the 3 Below series is there parents waking up just to die. 3 Below is my favourate of the Tales of Arcadia series : D

I like 3below from the get go. When I started watching Trollhunters I didn’t know what to expect and I didn’t start liking the show as much I do now before watching the first 10 episodes. All three shows are brilliant though.

I believe that 3below went to far away from troll hunters for my liking. I was hoping to see more of the adventure to New Jersey after the final battle or what happened when they got their. I wanted an expansion of troll hunters instead of a completely different story. I especially wanted to see more of Jim and Claire and their story. I loved wizards because there was a different main character while revolving heavily around the original characters a perfect mix for me I only wished their was more. I loved the characters in troll hunters so much I could’ve watched a whole 6 seasons of filler without complaint. Sorry for the rambling just my point of view.

Tbh, 3below would have been so much more successful if it was a show on its own, I love 3below but trollhunters and Wizards didn't seem relevant to 3below, it was a show itself that was unique and on its own and it's what I love about it, think about it Trollhunters and Wizards are fanatasy, trolls and Wizards with humans, 3below is Sci-fi, aliens and humans and Gods, The reason why people don't like 3below much is also not just bc it wasn't trollhunters, but it was also rushed, Now basically trollhunters was the first installment meaning Guillermo already knew the plot, the characters and had tons of time to set it all up in the right pacing top, 3below he didn't have too much time because tales of arcadia was needed to be finished quite quickly, so it became rushed and some of it didn't make much sense, and then wizards was HUGELY RUSHED, plot holes, random arcs, Jim turning human, bland villains and more and that was all crammed into one LIMITED season, but wanna know why how people liked it more than 3below? Because it had trollhunters it was part of the universe If 3below was a standalone show Guillermo would have time to make more seasons, fresh out the plots, put good pacing and much more, but he couldn't do too much of it because it was a trilogy which was needed to be done, thus Netflix also ordered for that So you see, 3below was amazing anyways, but it's potential was a little wasted because it was part of a trilogy with not much time to make that they were even left out in wizards, 3below is an amazing show but would be so much more amazing if it was on its own too, (98% liked trollhunters, 94% liked 3below and 96% liked wizards) Now I'm not saying 3below is bad or anything, I'm a huge fan of 3below, but I saw the true potential it could've had if it was a standalone show, or maybe the first installment in another trilogy with a sci-fi universe.

I think 3 Below is really good. When i first watched it I remember it being good, but I rewatched it recently and it was SO good. Much better than I remember, ESPECIALLY the crossover episodes. Those are absolutely brilliant.

Meh, it really wasn't that good. It really didn't add anything to the formula other than: "And now we added aliens! They have nothing to do with Trolls OR Wizards, but ALIENS!"
