Great video. I hope the new TMNT will turn out better than the reboots we have. The movies in general were good. I just didn’t like the look of the turtles. As far as Sonic goes I love the original look they chose for the character. Looking forward to see the movie.

That's what I was thinking. Give us the character design we all grew up with but it can still be updated for newer generations like the SpongeBob movie. The majority of people going to see it are parents who grew up watching Rugrats anyway

Something made decent quality and enjoyability I'll happily spend the money for with them

@@jesslynnwarnock so looks over story quality is what everyone is at right now? Imo, movies should look good, but overall story quality is what truly matters. This is called substance over style. If a movie has good designs but lacks in good story, then that movie itself won't be worth watching. I don't mind the CGI live action hybrid aspect, considering how I find it interesting. If the movie's story is lackluster, then design or look doesn't matter. Just because Paramount had the money doesn't mean they have to cater to you older folks from the '90s in the name of cashing in on nostalgia. Its better if they move on and focus on the new generation. Why wait for Netflix when the company itself is a bit problematic with their own property. Once again, substance over style is vital when you're presenting a movie. But I guess people only care about looks and visuals rather than good stories that actually matter.

Success with live action tends to be when the characters look as cartoony as their cartoon counterparts but in a live setting. The live action cartoon can contain emotions and expression through facial features versus having live action characters that don't often express themselves the same way

The easiest way to solve this problem is if the studios used test groups to decide which design was good for their movie. I mean companies have been using that method since the beginning of time when they would create products I see nothing wrong with them having a group of regular people sign an NDA, show them a couple of illistrated designs, and record the groups input to then put out a trailer for the one with the best feed back. It keeps the public off of their backs and they can still maintain their creativity.

Paramount just needs to think about why the original material did so well. Just look at the Turtles cartoon and movies, they looks cool, sound cool, the stories are simple, and characters. The first 2 movies did great and the suits are still great to this day. If the studio would be smart then it would be so much more simple

I dunno how accurate this is, but I heard that part of the reason sonic got reworked was because the VFX artists originally wanted to go for a more cartoony design, and it was studio executives that pushed them to make it as "realistic" as that first trailer ended up being. If that were the case then I'd understand why they went back on it. It'd be less changing because the fans didn't like the design and more because they were arguing for what the artists and animators had been saying all along

I wouldn't equate Netflix with low budget quality, The Irishman was AMAZING. The budget was over 150 on a movie with a very limited theatre release. Netflix's business model is different than that of traditional movie studios. Netflix will get out of the filmmakers way and let them put their vision on screen for better or worse.

I think the lesson that should be taken is that when studios is taking a cartoon looking character at try to give them a live action/cgi setting instead of jumping the gun by producing a inferior product just to make money they should take the time to get it right the first time.

If Rugrats were to be live action then yes it will go to Netflix. But if they take Sccoby Doo's advice and make Rugrats fully animated CGI then that reboot can still be in theaters.

5:37, I liked the original TMNT, unlike Michael Bay, whom only wants slow motion, Dutch angles, jumpcuts, low camera angles, unnecessary bright light in some of his movies. And oversexulized characters!!

I love how the term bullied it being used for fans backlashing because they make changes, like ermm get it right in the first place?, don't mess with the lore and design of characters. They redesigned sonic to pretty much look just like he did in the game, and was also able to cut out the whole turtles being alien thing. Soooooo why couldn't they have just done all that in the first place?
