We have another Mount Bowen trip planned for July next year. Probably ascending Nina creek and descending via the South East ridge of the Thumb.

That was stunning. Love your respect for the owners of the land. I did laugh when you broke out a can of food on a bush walk. I would have cut my toothbrush in half to save weight. Lol

Stunning scenery and landscape. You Aussies are so lucky to live in those conditions. It's a shame that not as many as yourself appreciate the Aboriginal people, their land and customs and respect them as should be.

Hey Mike, your video was so inspiring that the place ended up on my bucket list. We planed (not properly planned) on doing the trail rather then the boat and just got here to find out you have to book the bloody thing half year in advance 😲. So doing it in the boat just like you did 🤣. Great to see your channel finally grow btw. You deserve it mate. Well done and keep going. More adventures around the corner🤟

I caught the ferry where the boat was moored at the 2 minute 8 second mark of this clip. Early November, 2022. The ferry operator pointed out some crocodile marks on the sand. I would love to know how big the crocodile is that resides in that creek. I'm not sure I would camp where your tent is. 😀

Personally I find the tim tams work better if you leave a hot cup of coffee out too. The crocs get through the Tim tams faster doing the Tim tam slam but the hot liquid leaves them confused 😛 Great video mate!

Hey i recon you need one my water bottle i just started selling mike. There like the yeti gallon ones but 6 litre and Stocky so they done fall over , they keep ice for 50 % longer too. Had them custom made over for Australia. Named them Stumpy Michael after my great great grand uncle out of kings in grass castles book and tv serries if ya know of it. My oldie farm 150th anniversary since white settlement next year , we are 100km from Eromanga ther furtherest town from the sea in Australia.

@@OutbackMike Thank you. I got the impression from the video that you heard the male crocodile earlier (Perhaps Diamantina creek?) and spotlighted the other croc at another creek (Nina?). Someone else told me he saw a large crocodile in Nina creek. This surprised me because Nina creek is not a big creek system.

Murray Stanley yep. The way you said it is right. I don’t think the Nina one was that big but I only saw one eye.

Hey mate I appreciate your videos, just after some clarification for 10:10. You said you weren’t planning on doing the hike hence the cans of food, but previously said you had to apply for a permit and was granted your friends blessing, I’m confused what this means, thanks mate!

From memory, when I packed the car in NSW I didn’t think I’d have time to climb it and didn’t pack hiking stuff or food shop for it. I only asked Rusty when he told me it was his grandmothers Country (a couple of days before). It got me thinking, and then the email approval from Parks came through quite quickly. It kind of happened last minute. I also wasn’t sure if I’d be able to anchor safely enough to leave the boat unattended at anchor. Something like that anyway, but good pickup😂

Out of curiosity how can you tell which water falls don't have crocs? I've moved to FNQ but still cautious of most waterways still, thanks

The general rule of thumb is that if there’s a waterfall between the ocean and where you’re swimming you’re safe. It’s only a rule of thumb though as they can walk cross country a fair way.
