Adam, I am new to your channel but I love rotaries and yours is so interesting! First a word regarding blowing up heat exchangers on cold start. The cure is to put a low pressure by pass around the heat exchanger. You can do it several ways, 1) Connect a line at the oil inlet to the exchanger and then connect it to the outlet side of the exchanger, you can put a ball valve in this line, make it big at least 1 inch, then open the valve before you fire up the engine cold. The oil will pass through the by pass circuit and not the blow up the exchanger. But once the oil is hot you will need to close off the ball valve. or 2) make a by pass circuit as in no. 1 but install a 10 psi check valve, with the flow direction from the inlet to the outlet, again make the valve large. Now when you start up with cold oil the check will open and save the exchanger but will automatically close when the oil heats up and the pressure drop across the exchanger is less than 10 psi. Note that if the pressure drop across the exchanger with hot oil and full oil pump volume is greater than 10 psi, your exchanger is probably to small. I worked on several IMSA GTU RX-7s back in the early 80s and we ran two rotor 12As, we also had the factory peripheral port housings and a mechanical fuel injection system that we developed ourselves. The best power we ever had was 310 hp at around 12,000 and we ran the engine with 10% nitro which was good for another 10 and lots of mid range torque. I know that one of the reasons my hearing is so bad is listening to that engine!! So keep your ear protection on! Rex

The a90 is the perfect chassis for the engine I think. It looks like the best visual elements of the rx-8 got busy with a Mk4 supra and had a perfect baby. It's incredibly satisfying and clear to see once you think of it in that light. I'm my opinion, anyway. I think it needs a livery that mimics the way a bag of spicier nacho Doritos looks, the reds and graphics, and the car already being red kind of lends itself to something like that already. And surely it would be big fun to see something like that. And wraps can always be changed. Worth having your graphics guys draw something in that vein up, I think. This thing is going to steal the show more and more the closer it gets to being finished, even more than it already does. Definitely a legendary project. One that will be hard to top.

sounds amazing! have you checked compression yet? i fear apex seals havent fully set into the housings and can lack power from lack of seal and therefore compression, love the build i really hope to see more of it!

Mate cant wait to see it reach its potential, hit up AES mufflers over here in Aus they do killer work with rotary mufflers and will get it sounding mint! I would offer to build you one as i have done my own for years but I grabbed one from them for my track car because i got lazy. Very impressed.

I’ve been watching since Adam first got the cream s13. Although Adam has never been one to do all the work to his cars (compared to others) it was always his cars, what he’s doing (with his mechanic), and and bs of just hanging out and having fun. I feel like Adam that hung out at the shop and skate park was more entertaining than pro drifter Adam that has to leave weeks at a time. IMO I just enjoy people building cool things and having a good time, not just clips of videos every now and then of the build
