+Mathew Boggs SOOOO i had an opportunity to use step 4 this past Saturday. I did my part, when it came to him doing his he used the word BUT. I am a person that shuts down in the midst of the argument; not out of lack of words to defend myself, but because of that very reason. My boyfriend goes on and on and on and on i want to get to a resolution and be done with it. How do i communicate with him without reverting to my old self and hurt his feels? Side Note... He says he feels ignored when i don't respond immediately.

I accept any apology I get! Unlike someone I've known for one day. It's because of people like grudge holders, there are suicides in the world. I am ashamed to have met someone so set in their ways, that they would reject a crying, sensitive, broken person. It's sad. He could of said "it's alright", instead of "You've said sorry for quite a while now" "Save your breath, because I don't care" *blasts music up*

This actually helped me out some. Me and my parter we've been dating for about 2 yrs now. I seeked help for some answers on here 1 and a half years ago. I finally got an apology from him but it wasn't the best. He always has to add the "but even though". How do you change to get the apology you need to hear without the "but even though"

Great video! I would love to see that someone say something to improve next time when that situation occurs, then what should do. I'm also interested in how to say to somebody that I'm not happy with what he did. But there wasn't agreement, especially on the beginning on the relationship when people start knowing each other and discover that one of his behavior didn't do a good impression on me. And give chance to change that, and do agreement.

Mat! I made as mistake on Thursday. I recently signed up on Facebook, requested my boyfriend as a friend. At this time his Grandma is in the hospital and had been for a couple of days. We were conversing about his day and he was explaining his frustration with planning to go see his Grandma (out of state). The conversation was fine, and I asked him hey I sent you a friend request on Facebook can you accept my request. He hesitated to answer me, and said that he had a lot going that day which was why he ignored it. He said it was not on the top of his list. I got upset, not because he did not accept it the request at the time, but because he said it was not at the top of the list. Basically, I flipped out. We argued a bit, and the at the end we both apologized. He is still upset because he said that I should not have brought it up during this time (Grandma being sick and all). I do not know how to apologize using these steps with this situation. I apologized, but not good enough. He is now in traveling to Houston, still upset with me. How can I address this apology correctly using these steps? Help

Hey ! I had a fight with my bf today ... Actually he asked me to order something from Domino's ... So I ordered it from my phone and after few mins ... He said he will order by himself But unfortunately I was not able to cancel my order ... After he reached order he asked me about order summary ... I don't know why ... I just said few things and one from them was not actually in my order ... So while I was discussing with him...he just called them for missing thing ..and then he said . "Baby are you sure this was in your order ?" And then I found that that wasn't in my order ( after checking my app) Now he thinks I lied to him .... As I wanted to insult him ...and want to make fun of him N that's not true .... I tried to talk to him But now his not listening to me He have made that statement for me that I'm a fake person and a big lier.

I think it depends on how frequent you "snap" at him, because that actually hurts. Even if he loves you, there's a limit to getting dragged in meaningless fights, and with time, he may lose affection for you. This is just based on my experience, but I hope it could help.

He doesn't want to hear you apologize because you don't tend to put step 4 in practice like finding out what to do to make it up to. Him and also sticking to doing that thing which you just found out. So to. Him he sees your apology as a waste of time

My Mom taught us to apologize when we were kids, usually when other kids were over and one would do something thoughtless to another. She would put each kid in a separate room to cool off and then call us out, stand in front of each other and look into each other's eyes. The perpetrator had to say they were sorry. This process got my attention at that early age and I have apologized ever since. It lets your friend know that you can put yourself in their shoes and you had no intention of causing them harm.. What a relief for the recipient. My three favorite phrases are, Please, Thank You, and I'm sorry. They are just loving and considerate. I am glad that your wife could tell you that she needed time away from the baby, as you did, and that you stepped up to apologize, not because your mistake was intentional, but that you realized it was making it difficult for her. Also, stepping into relieve her burden and enabling her to keep her standards for her well being also made you a real hero. She wanted the kiss to say I love you for loving me. I am sure that feeling this love in your heart, knowing she was enjoying her afternoon, made your afternoon happy (you and your beautiful baby). There is nothing better that this type of happiness. 🥰🥰🥰

Until we get Mat´s answer, I use the clarity of a gracious "Apology accepted." with a smile. and nothing else. The father of Melanie Amaro said it to Simon Cowell, when S. came to their home to bring her back into the competition. You can find it on youtube still, I just checked. They all are quiet and let S. speak, and this is how they get to hear more from him in the direction of what Mat shares here.

I like what you said about choosing to recommit top your agreements, and it only works if both agree. If only one is on board it won't work and forget thinking that the other party will learn over time. I'm getting divorced because my wasband failed to commit to making Mr and his kids a priority, he behaved and continues to behave as if he's a single man. Never committing to work on the relationship. So I finally said enough infidelity. These are unions that need to be dealt with while dating and if you get married it should already be in place. Mutual respect must be party of the foundation, arrogance must be absent as well as intellectual superiority. Ladies pay close attention and see how your father in law treats your mother in law That's huge clue! Some of us missed that one....when you know better you do better.

Yes this will help a lot. Right now my Mom doesn’t trust me this has never happened before. When I say sorry I’m like the boy who called wolf she doesn’t blew me I’m a sitting duck saying sorry. Like I’m talking to a wall. It’s frustrating I just realized why my mom does not forgive me. I haven’t changed a bit and have played the innocent card and blamed everyone else for my proplems I haven’t been taking care of the animals. I haven’t been cleaning my room I haven’t been picking up my messes And I haven’t been taking responsibility for my actions I’m deeply sorry. And really want my mom to. Trust me but I think I lost her trust forever and it breaks my heart because everytime anything gets messed up she blames me yells at me. I love my mom and. Very. Thankful she has been patient with me and my mistakes and. Glad she loves me. And still gives me anything I want cleans the house 24 /7 and has no time to relax I hate that she’s calling me a teenager and. A lazy little girl I just turned 13 and she doesn’t trust me. Iv never been. In trouble I get straight As. And. She’s never mad. At me. But now she is. And threatened to pull me over her knee like iv seen My older siblings she has never spanked me. And. I don’t want her to and I want her to trust me. But I have no idea. How to say sorry in a way that she will trust me and know I mean it I really want help and I’m hoping someone can

They've been helping me date smarter and increase my self esteem :) But how do I apologize, or do I even need to, to a man i've been dating for ~1.5 mos and feel like I "gave him the cookie" way too early for my comfort level? My gut tells me this isn't meant to be because I now sense he's not looking for a relationship, at least not with me. Matt, As women we already expect the men make mistakes... So.. What I proposed to you, is that you as men go out of your way on taking care of your wife needs better thing you put on this video. Because she takes care of everyone except for her own self so she needs additional special care that you can give her without her asking you... Because she does that all the time.

this works huhuhu in fact he accepted my apology. My advice is that you should own up to your mistakes and show that you are truly sorry for your previous actions. Any advice to share if he/she does not know what to do after the apology? Should I give him space?

So he was gone 2.5 hours vs. 1. Not only is the emotional acknowledgment missing from this system but he minimizes the length of time he was gone if I understand what he has said. 🤪

+Mathew Boggs Yes well I don't see my bf all the time because he works two jobs but when he is off, I always hang out with him because I see him so rarely. I was ill and the first two days he was working, he wanted to spend night with me the night before he was off but even though I wanted him there I said stay home and spend time with your brother since he came from tampa for 2 days and id see you tomorrow. Now the day of him being off I spoke to him in the morning he said he'd spend time with his borther and be there for me later, longer story short I didn't hear from him at all the entire day, no call, no text and he didn't come and see me. Only after his brother left did he try to come and see me. I was and still am extremely upset. He says he just got caught up with his brother, to me no excuse for not even sending a text to see how I was doing knowing I was ill. I should also mention he did the exact same thing to me another time when his brother was in town for 2 days. I was upset and told him to never do that to me again a month later he did the exact same thing.

That’s nice. Makes sense. But what if your wife had been totally pissed and rightfully angry, and she didn’t express her upset feelings in such a nice way as how you described in this video? Does that then absolve the husband from needing to apologize because she might have been a bit “bitchy”?

Lydia Lopez did you ever apologize to his mom. im in the same situation right now, he snuck over to my house and his mom called me asking where he was knowing that he was at my house and i told her that he told me that he was going to go out for a run and say hi to me on the way. i told her that ill check outside for him and by the time i tried to get him out the house his mom was already waiting for him.

I apologize and ask forgiveness for my partner/bestfriend for almost 4days...
