His 4 children, demanding job, financial difficulties due to divorce, searching for what he thinks he wants while he doesn't have the resources for someone else and cares deeply about you. Give some guys credit for caring about their job which is a source of financial support for his children who he loves dearly and goes out of his way to spend time with them even tho it's not his weekend to be with them. Never jump to conclusions. Men divorced have a more difficult time handling everything that goes with it especially if he has children plus he lost his emotional home in the divorce. There are no simplistic answers. Every man is different. Think before you assume. A man with children his priority should be the children and the job and dealing with the financial difficulties with child care payments, etc. In cases like this you come second. The children from his previous marriage and his job come first. If you can't deal with those realities then move on. You don't deserve him.

I love being alone even though I have a bf I’m a morning person, he’s a night person. I am loud he is quiet. We are different but we have so much in common and it balances out. You don’t want to constantly be with someone it’s not healthy.

We have all done that at sone point. I dated a man I eas crazy about. Looking back, he negged me, was inconsistent, took me for granted and I was an idiot. Now he tlresurfaces on my life now and then when he is looking for an ego boost. I stopped supplying that and I am good and no linger in love. But to thos day, if he needs to talk I am tje person he seeks out. I dont know what is up with that.

Very good point! Communication is everything whether friends or more! If there is no deeper talking and they aren't into that or they were once and stop it along the way then there is a problem. It may not mean they are no longer into you either. I think people just get scared..both men and women and I also think people need space now and then..but it is only right to give the other person a head's up or for you to try to be aware of what is going on.

Yup. I come across the same issue with every man I've dated. Either that or they act like they're into you only so they can get in your pants, I hate that one too. I've gotten to the point where I'm so tired of it that I've decided to completely opt-out of dating. I'm tired of the games and tired of guys not being direct or being able to communicate in general. It's extremely frustrating and exhausting dealing with those kinds of people.

But how do we know what a natural flow should be like? What if he's emotionally insecure (fearful-avoidant) and afraid of abandonment so he acts as if he's not invested in some ways while you're both invested in other areas? The rules also don't seem to apply if the person struggles with depression, low self-esteem, low or no self-love, or other.insecurities, as I mentioned before. I tried matching the level of my guy's interest awhile back. I went overboard a bit to see if he would notice and he thought I was about to leave him. He said he needed to know that I valued him and was interested in him so that he could overcome his fears and insecurities and open up to me more.

That's tough, but he obviously needs time to grow up. Be available when he has more emotional maturity but don't have him doing it on your time. Not your job to raise him, especially since if he isn't ready you can't even if you wanted to.

Ghosting is an appalling thing to do to someone. It shows a lack of consideration and respect for your time and feelings but most telling of all, is that it shows how cowardly the 'ghoster' is - they haven't the guts or integrity to tell you it's not working for them so then you waste time and energy wondering what's going on or what happened.

I think it’s pretty simple. When someone ignores you, they don’t want to talk to you. Don’t try to chase. I give people so many chances that they don’t deserve. I make up excuses for them, even though they don’t bother to explain their actions. If someone is interested, it’s easy to see.

I follow one good tip from John Gray-- he said that man are like elastic. When they come close- need pull away to max extent. BUT- what happens when you strech elastic - it comes back with greater force.....

When a guy pulls away I just leave him where he is, because the message I receive from this behavior is that he don't want to talk or communicate, so I can't force him into that. Simply let it be as it is

VogueHaven for real. My boyfriend of 4 years ignored me for a weeks then tells me he needs space to figure his life out. Then he tells me that I am too clingy because I wanted to be a part of his life when he was going through his issues.. he told me is a loner .. then I find out he has been talking some girl on the phone ..a few weeks later he starts dating some other girl. I wanted to kick his ass over then smoke a joint and wait for the cops but instead I prayed and cried my eyes to sleep every night.

Me too. Check things out a little bit, do the basic self inventory then move on. I come from being raised by the old school and a good woman with a high level of feminine knowledge and logic that taught me never chase a man. 💅🏽😬You can let him know you're interested but do not under any circumstances go out of your way to chase the man down and God forbid stalk him and become obsessed and start showing up on their turf looking stupid. That is not a good look on any day of the week! You waste so much time trying to be a super sleuth and an alpha female that is not going to let no one ghost them, and miss out on other opportunities 2 get to know someone else who might be more interested. All it does is boost the wrong mans ego and gas them up how to the cloud even more while you're down in the dumps watching them rise.

It’s interesting that you say to match his level of commitment. Because when I start to get one and two word replies, I give one and two word replies, and generally make myself more unavailable. That will either spark him into trying harder or he’ll fall off the face of the earth. Either way, the problem is solved. If he’s not willing to put some leg work in, neither am I.

It depends on the context. Obviously if you’re in the very beginning stages of dating and someone goes AWOL, then they clearly aren’t interested. But if it’s farther down the road, it helps to attempt to reach out to the person and gently ask if everything is ok. Occasionally, things may happen that temporarily disconnect a person from the relationship that have absolutely nothing to do with the state of a relationship. I had a boyfriend that didn’t text me for a couple of days, and when I gently asked him if everything was ok, I found out his grandmother he was living with died a couple days ago and he had to almost single handedly make funeral arrangements. I asked him how I could support him and he said “I’ll reach out when I am ready to talk about it” and he did. We parted ways because we weren’t compatible, but that’s an example of why we shouldn’t just assume a person doesn’t care when they don’t respond immediately.

I am practicing matching his level of attachment for some months, but now I am also more focused on my own life too. It can seem simple, but I must admit that it was not easy. Love the comments everybody made here 👍. My opinion: if a Man ignores you, it can be many reasons, depending on their upbringing and values. But at the end of the day, if he ignores you, he is just NOT into you for a personal reason. Plain and Simple. Remember if he ignores you NOW, he can ignore you later on in the future if he loses interest. It can be a Pattern for him. That can be even more hurtful.

Listen guys, I was devastated 2 months ago when we broke up. It was ,,mutual decision" because he didn't love me the way i wanted to be loved and I just had enough of that, and he got enough of my expectations. Those people will never be who we want them to be. There are lots of people who would rather lose us than put any effort, no matter what they tell us, no matter what we do, no matter whether we do no contact or not. They won't learn. I know its harsh but what helped me was watching videos rather about how to get over him, how to live your life to the fullest. And trust me after 3 years of relationship it took me 2 months to get over him and move on. I feel relief that I have one thing less in my life to worry about. You'll be there too, just stop having hope that they'll change - they will not!

"Reject the Rejector" i.e. Pull back and gather forces... walk away if he's not pursuing you. He will soon come running back and when he does, you will either be fully over him and moved on and happy with your life or you will be in a good place to have a happy attitude about it (confident in yourself) but aware of the amount/level of investment you should put in. A man should pretty much earn his way to the key to your heart... he's the hunter, let him hunt.

I know a couple who had that ease and flow exactly as you described it - 5 years later they end up in the worst divorce in history. So set up your research study and watch your subjects over 8 year period, and then use facts for suggested strategies. The value of your teaching is in keeping focus on self and reducing focus on specific behaviors of the other - it’s the level and quality of growth experience one has with the other is all that matters

That's how it felt with my ex (we were together for eight years). Then he let a couple of negative and overly selfish and manipulative people into his life (they would talk about me behind my back to my ex and tell him he should break up with me and that I'm unattractive, etc.) and I'm absolutely positive they were at least a part of why our relationship failed in the end which is very sad...for my ex, not me. I did the breaking up when I realized we had run our course. It really sucks but I'm obviously better off.

Thank you! This answered so many questions that I know I didn’t even have. The main one that I did have was a guy telling me at one time: “You get what you don’t want.” There was no context conversation to him saying this, however putting this in a relationship situation; I agree. The idea of scarcity and getting what you don’t want. Finally, makes sense.

Once I was dating a guy who would talk a day and a half to text me back, almost every time. I decided to do an experiment. I waited for him to text me and then decided I would not respond for a day and half, no matter what. A few hours later he texted me again, to see if I had gotten his text. A few hours later he texted again, asking if I was there. Finally that night he actually came over to my house because he was concerned I might have been in trouble or something. We didn't last as a couple but it was definitely an effective way to illustrate the double standard he had become accustomed to about texting etiquette.

Well, I started pulling away when I realized his level of interest was way below mine. I realized that I was the one starting the conversations all the time. When I stopped writing, so did he, and I confirmed that it just was not worth it. Now I see your video and I see that what I did was the right thing. You are so right when you say that by focusing less on the person, our minds start seeing them as less and less important... It's not easy but it's liberating and reduces anxiety enormously. I have to say a lot of women will say that a relationship should not take a lot of work. That is not always the case. It depends on ones definition of a lot of work. Too easy could be indicative of a person who isn't showing their complete, true self. They agree on most everything out of fear. I have experienced this firsthand. When it becomes time to discuss something uncomfortable, they disconnect.
