Conventional medicine treats seasonal allergies with injections and pills, which unfortunately, create side effects and fail to address the root problem. If you don’t address the root cause, then the allergies will never go away.

I've had to learn and study a lot of what you've stated to help heal my skin, suffered with eczema for 9 years and it's currently in remission, which sounds daft but considering it's something the doctors said I'd never cure it' a pretty accurate word to use, it's incredibly frustrating how the medical world treats auto immune disease, often making the problems worse and treating food as an alternative medicine, when in reality it's the best thing you can do. I got a skin infection September last year that absolutely destroyed me, and the doctors prescribed antibiotics, each course getting less effective each time, but the prescription stayed the same for 9 courses. I lost loads of weight and was covered head to toe with it, absolutely awful, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. To reiterate. My skin problems are completely 100% down to my gut health. I have digestive problems that likely spawned from years of bad eating habits, (eating despite being full, I've always had a huge appetite that's difficult to reign in) and I'm finally curbing them and my skins healing with it. The biggest driving factor helping to heal me at the moment is kefir from a company called Chuckling Goat in Wales UK and it' a fantastic product; but after all those courses and subsequent years of poor skin and gut health it's incredible to finally see lasting improvement. (It's taking time, a slow but sure process). I'd say my main obstacle now is learning to realize when I'm full and not caving in to cravings that I still sometimes get, Functional Medicine gives me some hope for the future, as well as the work people like you do Sorry for the length, but it's a topic I'm heavily involved with after spending half of my life with auto immune disease and gut problems, and only realizing in the past year that it was actually a gut problem and not a skin one. Thanks! (P.S, currently producing my first batch of homemade Sauerkraut, hopefully does me some favours too!)

Many years ago i had lots of problems with hay fever. around the age of 33-35 it disappeared for almost 90 %. Not sure what i did or why it went away, but around that time i started to practice Sahaja Yoga. I felt so relieved after that. Mark keep up doing the right thing, we all love you :)

Thanks for the video. I think it is the right answer I am looking for. I noticed the peanut , cheese, makes my allergies worse, also Grapefruit is not very good either to the hay fever . Vegetable relives the allergies a bit.

How much tea does this make? How much water do you use? I start with a small cup of tea and add a 1/4 tsp thyme & 1/4 tsp sage. I’ll mine the kitchen & see if we have the rest of your list. Thx.

Thank you for all you do Dr Hyman! Where do we submit a question to be considered? If it's here then my question is: I am vegetarian so I used to rely heavily on beans and meat substitutes. What is your stance on those and do they fit into what you consider a healthy nutrition plan?

Great video Dr. Hyman, I'm doing a couple of things to manage my allergies... Greatly decreased my intake of eggs, gluten and dairy and I'm working on stress management. I believe our one Creator Yehovah wants us to be healthy and discover the natural ways he put on this earth to heal ourselves, before sin entered this Earth He prescribed the perfect diet for us (Genesis 1:29). For most of us everything we need to be healthy is at our disposal. My prayer is that we all can have the discpline it takes to do what's best for our health... I can see it's worth it!

My seasonal allergies have been very bad this summer. Worse than previous years even. I have done the elimination diet and now have gone off gluten and am taking probiotics. I eat pretty healthy and clean, but I still have stomach issues and bad seasonal allergies. Even Clariton isn't helping my allergies and i can't stand the side effects so I've just been using lavender essential oil on the back of my neck and a little in my nostrils which stops the itching eyes and throat and sneezing, but not the congestion and dizziness. I also drink lots of lemon water. I would like to heal my gut but I don't know what else to do.

Thanks. I try not consume much dairy other than skim cheese on some things and sometimes butter, but I never heard of clarified butter. I also like to eat healthy yogurts because it really helps. I only use Spanish olive oil or coconut oil. I have heard not so great things about Chlorella and spirulina and generally steer clear of fad things like that. I eat pretty clean basic foods so as not to feel icky, but I think I'm sensitive to GMOs or pesticides because I noticed when I eat things from friend's gardens that don't use chemicals or organic I don't get reactions: itchy throat, skin reactions, and stomach issues. Now if only I could afford that all the time or have a bigger garden! I'm trying a different brand of probiotics (Plexus ProBio5) now but it's really hard on my stomach so I have to use tiny amounts of it.

What kind of stomach problems? Can't u digest food? If so, then look up to "Hypochlorydia, or low stomach acid" there are so good solutions for that :)

My hay and birch pollen allergies went away when I started low carb lifestyle. I just wanted to try it for a while for health reasons, but I've kept doing it for more than two years now once I noticed I no longer need to take antihistamin in the summer. I sometimes get symptoms, however, if I fall for some sugary treat.

I wonder if these recommendations apply to growing kids, including toddlers, who might suffer from seasonal allergies, rather than just adults. I heard growing kids have different nutritional needs from the adults, for example, intermittent fasting is great for adults, but is a no-no for the young ones.

The only way I found I could stop eating bread and sugar was on the keto diet. I could never stop before but that diet actually made me feel satisfied and I got a hold of my sugar addiction. The diet changes all the cells in your body to use fat for fuel instead of the carbs/sugar. Check out Dr. Burg on here for lots of advice on this and lots of keto cooks on here to describe how to take the dishes you like and make them keto friendly. Good luck. I also felt less brain fog and much more energy while on this diet.

That sounds so ridiculous being on 42 different allergy medications...you would think that after a certain number somebody would stop and say "this is clearly not working, we should do more tests to rule other things out." 🤦‍♂️
