You’re correct. However they need a coach that can get KD to buy into a system that doesn’t rely on him playing heavy iso. I just don’t think Vogel is respected enough by KD to get him to buy into it. The Suns offense was very predictable with KD playing heavy iso and teams were blitz and trap him that would lead to sloppy turnovers that usually lead to easy baskets going the other way. This team has talented players but they were too predictable on offense. KD will have to alter his game for the Suns to have any success.

Booker is only 27 and the Suns still have a lot of time to put the pieces around him to win. Look at Dirk for example. Dirk went to the Finals in 06 and lost and then had multiple first round exits before he finally won a title 5 years later. Booker is still very young and has at least 5 more seasons in him to play elite basketball. You can’t give up on him yet. Suns will be able to retool quickly and keep the team competitive. Dallas stuck with Dirk even through multiple seasons of disappointments in the postseason after their finals loss in 06 and it paid off for them. Suns need to keep the same mindset. Booker is the franchise’s best player outside of Steve Nash… that type of player you don’t just get rid of for a rebuild.

@@snarkmark2806this is true but I don’t think a rebuild now is necessary. I think they can retool and still be competitive. First priority is to find a coach that can get Durant to buy into the system… someone Durant would respect because he certainly didn’t respect Vogel. If they can find the right coach that can implement a good system that the players buy into then I think it could definitely work. Book, KD, Allen, Nurk is a good starting 4. Bring Beal off the bench or if you’re going to start Beal then you have to have Allen come off the bench… you can’t start Booker, Beal and Allen together, it just won’t work. Also they need to get another player to run the point and be the facilitator… a hard nosed defensive minded PG that can pass and run the offense fluidly without causing too many turnovers. Offseason priorities would be finding a suitable starting PG, getting a coach the players will listen to that will buy into the system and bringing in another big that can come off the bench and play meaningful minutes without being a huge liability. I think the can find a point guard in Free Agency and another big without it costing too much. If they can do that then they can use the 22nd pick in this years draft to either get a wing player that can defend or a player to play back up Point Guard. There a few players I like in this year’s draft that can be had at the 22nd pick that can fill in that role. The suns have 6 players as of right now that are good for their roles… they just need at least 2 more players to come in that can contribute a little something. If they can address the point guard position in free agency and find another serviceable big that can come off the bench and not be a liability then they can get their defensive wing that they definitely need.

lots of young teams that wanna right right now with other teams first round picks that can substitute just fine.

Nah that would be a bad idea I understand they didn’t give up much but Beal is still a good player and the fact he making so much money makes it a bad idea because you’re going to have to pay him anyways it better for him to pay him while he playing for the team than to watch him play for another team and pay him I agree if anyone getting traded it has to be kd due to age

Problem is Beal has a no trade clause and any team has to match his +$50 million salary. He arguably has a worse contract than Ben Simmons at this point.
