In this video, I discuss the 4 types of panic attacks.
Panic attacks are common, and I've realized over the years of working with clients that many people don't even know they have panic attacks.
That's because panic can show up in different intensities and at different times for people. So you might find it surprising that some people experience symptoms internally without outward, more known signs like hyperventilation and crying.
In this video, I'm going to talk about
1. We will discuss the different types of panic attacks and their symptoms.
2. The various places, people experience panic attacks
3. What causes someone to panic
4. And finally, how can you help yourself or a loved one through a panic attack
Guided audio for anxiety and intrusive thoughts (practice this daily) • Meditation for anxiety...
Progressive muscle relaxation for anxiety or use after or before a panic attack • Mediation for Anxiety ...

I actually once started having a panic attack while waiting in the waiting room for my therapy appointment. And when my therapist brought me into the room I was very out of it and my vision was all wonky and couldn’t answer stuff well she noticed basiclly right away something wasent right and tried distracting me

That one was more silent.. but I had a really bad loud one during a marching band rehersal once and walked away from everything and was on the sideline sobbing and hyperventilating. One of the drum majors noticed and came to check on me. Meant a lot that she checked up on me

As soon as you said (in silent panic attacks) that you can feel nausea, or difficulty swallowing, I almost cried. No one told me that that could be what a panic attack was when I was initially experiencing them. So thank you for bringing the many, many symptoms to light. Also I really appreciate the 4 different types of panic attacks, because I can see that helping me to place each one, and communicate what’s going on better using it. You are awesome, thank you!

I'm so glad I came across this video. When you mentioned having panic attacks due to loud voices, that resonated with me so much. My panic attacks are triggered through family confrontation, like fighting and such. I absolutely hate it when my parents scream and make loud noises. However, I only suffer from generalized anxiety, so my panic doesn't come on all the time. I do have things that help me calm down from a panic attack, or just random bouts of anxiety. I might listen to soothing music, I might play my favorite songs, I might drink some soothing teas, I might hold my favorite weighted stuffed animals (they're called, Moon Pals), or I might just focus on my breathing for a bit. But even after a panic attack, I'm feeling exhausted, like I don't want to do anything else. I usually end up having loud panic attacks where I'm visibly shaking, hyperventilating, and crying. The panic box sounded interesting. Perhaps I should create something like that for any future panic attacks.

had a panic attack about death anxiety. the existential dread combined with the physical fear made me spiral. i used grounding and measured breathing to eventually bring me out of it.

When I had my first panic attack my friends just ran away it was a loud one. The teacher asked me if I was ok and I just said ‘I don’t know why I’m crying’ I was shaking, my heart was racing,I felt SOOOO nauseous and I collapsed. Having no one around me just made it so much worse. This was back in 2021. I’ve had around 20/25 panic attacks since then

You've only listed 2 types of panic attacks. These aren't four types. These are two types 'expected' and 'unexpected' with two types of presentations - loud or silent.

I have all of these unfortunately. I can’t seem to find anything on KZfaq about rare severe wave panic attacks. I need more information. So I can help myself. I am geieving the sudden, tragic & violent loss of my child. I was diagnosed with ptsd, anxiety & panic attacks. I came upon rare wave panic attacks. And I have that. Why isn’t anyone on KZfaq talking about it.?Regular panic attacks don’t last very long. Mine last several hours & days. My doctor sent me to the er because they thought I was having a stroke. It lasted for days & that’s why I contacted my doctor. I felt so sick for days & felt like I was going to die.

i had it twice this year in july, i was put straight on the spot, i ended up involved in a situation that had nothing to do with me and in a very dangerous and scary situation, i was getting questioned and the person was moving abit aggressive as he was talking, i couldnt move speak or even breath the first time it was unexpected because violence was involved and because of past experience it got me frightened and ive never been put in a situation that bad , the second time it happened i knew i was gonna feel the same i just didnt know when, and i told my friend that his business has nothing to do with me and how i dont want to be put in that situation again, my friend begged me to come and support and i told him that whatever problems you have with this person you should always expect it and how it will escalate, he didnt listen to me so they fought again and i was scared and the person almost came at me and the same feeling before but this time it was more silent but on the inside i was fearing that i was going to die by this persons friend i had to flee because if i didnt i dont know what would have happened, i couldnt stay i was really scared about dying in that moment all the panic caused my chest to hurt really bad and its still hurting currently i kept getting migranes and my neck eventually started to ache as i got home . but the only reason why ive been getting panic attacks was because my cousin died at age 15 and i knew him since he was a baby. his death caused my first panic attack.

for me 90degree heat outside triggers my panic attacks
@stephenraynes2148

Makes a lot of sense. Pretty common for heat to trigger panic. Your amygdala will begin taking over as the heat will trigger a range of symptoms, interpreting them as a danger.

I just had a panic attack in a hospital where I was seeing my baby via the ultrasound machine. I was quite happy, saw his heart breathing, ribs legs but suddenly, I felt that there is some pressure in my arm and my heart start beating fast. My bp shoot to 168/90 but it was normal after 20 minutes. This is not the first time I am having a panic attack like this but I am not sure why it happened? I was quite happy, seeing my child and he was moving. Anyways, I didn’t go to emergency, didn’t go through all the ECG stuff and just stayed calm.

Don’t we all get nervous when we have a presentation or something big we are planing. We get a little shaky, feel sick to our stomach and start to get sweaty but that is a panic attack right?
@stephenraynes2148
@stephenraynes2148 Жыл бұрын
No. That is called anxiety. While panic attacks vary between individuals, we aren't talking a little shaky here, or sweaty. For many people, panic attacks have extreme physical symptoms accompanied by sheer terror and the feeling of imminent death. This is the reason why is it very common for panic attack suffers to end up in an emergency room, especially if it is the first time.
