41 Years Old and Still Going! ~ The ex-Perth ADL Diesel Trains at Pukekohe Station (HD)

2 жыл бұрынA few months ago I spent an evening at Pukekohe station, during which time I got to have a look in ADL 802's cab and see ADL 809 being prepared for service. These DMUs were originally built for Perth, Western Australia in 1981; arriving in Auckland twelve years later. Now they are used exclusively on the Papakura to Pukekohe shuttle.
(Filmed on the evening of April 8th, 2022. At the time of uploading, the ADLs have only got a few months left before retirement).

I've been on these ADL DMU's when I was young and I love them so much because they have very comfortable seats.

I really hope atleast one set gets preserved, i personally have never ridden on an ADL/ADC, i have been on an ADK/ADB, an SA/SD/DFB, SX/SV/DBR, and an SA/SD/DC, but i have never been on an ADL/ADC

Are they diesel mechanic, hydraulic or electric?

Diesel-electric, if memory serves.

@@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga we and a few others at BOIVR was saying it'll be nice to have a unit but unfortunately management only thought of the downside stories (which was apparently that they kept derailing)
